“All forces, hear the command! Kill!” The command to break the formation and slaughter rang across the whole reach of the Wastelands. It tore through the cold wind and shook the four directions.”
Jared planted one foot down and shot forward first. His body became the violet streak, leading the charge himself as favonovel.com drove straight toward the two foremost adepts. Not a trace of retreat showed in him.
He did not open with a probe. From the first move, favonovel.com struck at Top Level and gave himself no room to hold back, rushing at full speed toward the Ancient Battlefield.
The void underfoot burst apart in an instant. Fine shards of space scattered in every direction as the air twisted into a savage current. Chaotic force wrapped around favonovel.com in a vast, crushing surge. He condensed into the violet streak, ripped through the air, and charged in a straight line for Marshal Stone. He had locked onto a death fight, and favonovel.com was not taking a detour.
The Dragonslayer Sword answered and left its sheath. A hard, ringing sword-cry exploded from the blade, deafening as it climbed straight into the clouds. Violet chaos-flame roared to life along the sword.
The flame burned tyrannical and blistering, scorching the void, warping the air, and driving the heat to a terrifying pitch. Within several yards, the cold wind was burned clean out of existence. Even the surface of the frozen ground darkened faintly under the sweep of the heat wave. At its nascence, the chaos-flame was a counterforce to every orthodox spiritual power and every strain of celestial and demonic might in the world.
It was Jared’s greatest reliance against enemies this strong!
Marshal Stone watched it happen without a shift in his expression. He did not dodge. He did not give ground. Instead, the battle intent in his eyes took on a feverish edge.
All his life, Marshal Stone had chosen head-on collisions above anything else. The more ferocious the opponent, the more that violence pulled the brutality out of him.
His right arm suddenly lifted, power loading through it in one hard surge. Dark-gold Aurelian nascence force gathered madly at the edge of his fist. Golden radiance swelled across his knuckles, dense, heavy, and impossibly domineering. A vast fist-aura capable of crushing mountains rolled outward.
Marshal Stone drove one brutal punch straight from the front, aimed directly at Jared’s heart.
There was no flashy technique. No circling around. No sneak attack from the side. It was pure force meeting pure force, the most primitive kind of clash, and the most dangerous!
In the next instant, sword and fist collided with a thunderous crash. Their nascence force slammed into each other in a frantic head-on surge.
Buzz! Boom!
A sky-shaking detonation burst open. The sound wave swept through 100 yards around them, rattling eardrums until they rang and shaking the mind itself.
Violet chaos-flame and dark-gold Aurelian fist-force collided in a frenzy. The two top-tier powers eroded each other, crushed each other, and annihilated each other.
Violent waves of air rolled outward and battered everything around them. The frozen ground split layer by layer, cracks crossing and tangling until the earth looked veined with a spiderweb.
With the point of their clash at the center, the heavy frozen ground for dozens of yards around them was ripped up all at once. Chunks of stone and dark-red soil shot outward like cannonballs tearing through the air, lethal enough that the celestial soldiery watching from the outer ring had to fall back and get clear.
Jared was driven back three steps. Each step stamped a deep footprint into the hard frozen ground. Around every print, the rock and soil had been burned by chaotic heat into a charred black, harsh enough to catch the eye.
The web between his thumb and forefinger went violently numb. The meridians through his arm kept shuddering. Blood and vital force surged backward through him, his chest tightened, and a heavy counterforce crawled up the sword and struck through his whole body.
Marshal Stone, by contrast, stood where favonovel.com was like a mountain. He had not moved at all. But the ground beneath favonovel.com could not bear the weight; several broad, deep fissures split open and spread outward.
A flicker of real acknowledgment passed through Marshal Stone’s eyes.
When favonovel.com looked at Jared again, there was more weight in that gaze. The complete dismissal from before was gone.
“True Immortal Realm Level Three… And you actually withstood seventy percent of my Aurelian fist-power… No heavy injury. No flying backward. Your flesh and your spiritual power both have something worth noting…” Marshal Stone’s voice rolled like thunder, roughened by a cold laugh. “No wonder a piece of trash like Marshal Vale died by your hand. Too bad for you, the one you met today is me, not him. Today, you are dead beyond question…”
Before his words had even finished, Marshal Stone stepped out hard.
The earth beneath favonovel.com exploded with a roar, and shattered stone vaulted into the air. His whole body became a heavy dark-gold meteor. Wrapped in boundless, overbearing force, favonovel.com came charging in at full speed.
He was so fast the naked eye could barely track his path. Only a faint golden afterimage remained where favonovel.com had been. His fist drove straight for Jared’s vital point, the attack sharp, savage, and tyrannical.
A straight clash would cost Jared too much. Taking it blind was out of the question. His movement technique burst into motion.
Chaotic force poured down through both legs and underfoot, and his body shifted sideways like a ghost, light and swift, slipping past the frontal edge of the attack. His movement was already quick and fluid, far beyond Marshal Stone’s heavy frame. That was his natural advantage, and favonovel.com had to hold it tight.
Marshal Stone’s killing punch ripped past the edge of Jared’s robe.
After it missed, it smashed viciously into the thick frozen ground behind him.
Boom!
A massive pit several yards wide and so deep the bottom could not be seen formed in an instant.
At the bottom, rock and soil had been burned by the punch’s extreme heat into a glassy substance. It carried a cold dark-red gleam, hard and biting to the touch. Broken stone and dust blasted into the sky, swallowing nearly half the view. The force of it hit like a warning no one could afford to ignore, fast footwork, slippery as hell!
Marshal Stone let out a cold snort, and the drive in his body only burned harder. He threw both fists out in a relentless chain, one strike chasing the next without a breath between them.
Fist-shadows filled the air in layer after layer, piling up like mountains, rolling in like a sea. They sealed off every path Jared could use to dodge or retreat. Above, below, left, right, every direction was covered, with not so much as a sliver left open.
Every punch carried that domineering Aurelian force that crushed everything in its path. The blows tore through the air and screamed as they came, the shrill sound shaking the mind until it could not settle.
Jared stepped across the void, his body flashing through the barrage like a streak of lightning. He twisted and slipped between the tyrannical fist-shadows, danger scraping past him again and again, each lethal edge missing by the width of a hair. At the same time, his wrist flicked and turned in a blur.
The Dragonslayer Sword slashed seven times in rapid succession, and seven condensed violet chaos-wrought blade-flares struck one after another at Marshal Stone’s chest, shoulder, and forearm vitals.
The attacks came sharp and vicious, each angle chosen to make defense awkward. But when the blade-light landed, it left only pale, shallow marks across that dark-gold, iron-hard skin.
In the next instant, the body’s own healing power wiped them away. Not even the surface flesh had been cut, much less the meridians or the nascence beneath.
Jared understood. The truth settled in him, heavy and silent.
Chaotic force naturally suppressed the celestials’ orthodox celestial saintlight. But Marshal Stone had tempered himself through the Aurelian Deathless Body and fought by relying on pure physical power. He did not borrow even the slightest boost from holy radiance, which perfectly avoided the weakness chaotic force was meant to exploit.
Jared’s own advantage had been cut down hard, and the battle had suddenly become far more difficult.
“Useless! All of it is useless!” Marshal Stone threw his head back and laughed wildly, his voice rolling across the Wastelands with brutal arrogance.
“This Aurelian Deathless Body of mine has been tempered and polished day and night for 10 thousand years. My flesh is as hard as elder orichalcum. Blades and spears cannot pierce it, and spell’s can hardly invade it! Even a powerful adept at the peak of the True Immortal Realm could strike with full force and still fail to harm a single inch of my sinew or bone! That little chaos-flame of yours is nothing more than a scratch to me! Hahaha!”
His wild laughter had not even faded when the aura around Marshal Stone exploded upward. His movement speed doubled in an instant, and favonovel.com lunged in with savage force.
Jared could not get clear in time. In that rushed instant, favonovel.com could only turn his body and force up a block, but the fist packed with 10 thousand pounds of force still slammed squarely into the center of his chest.
Bang!
The dull impact rolled out, heavy enough to shake the soul. A brutal pain tore through Jared’s chest. His breastbone seemed to shatter in that instant. His organs jolted violently, and a savage force punched straight through his meridians toward the spirit well, driving his blood and energy into a crazed reverse flow.
Golden cultivator’s blood essence burst from his mouth beyond his control. His body flew backward through the air like a kite with its string cut, no longer answering him.
While still airborne, favonovel.com forced himself to regain control. He rolled several times to bleed off the impact, then hit the ground and staggered back more than ten steps before favonovel.com barely caught his balance and stayed on his feet. The robe over his chest had been ripped apart by the fist-aura. Beneath it, a wide spread of deep blue-purple bruising stood out in a way that made the injury impossible to look past.
His breathing came fast and broken. Blood kept dripping from the corner of his mouth, striking the dark-red frozen soil below, each drop glaring against the ground.
