“Sir, do we keep moving?” the cultivator behind favonovel.com asked.
Lucian said nothing for a moment. Then favonovel.com gave a nod. “Keep moving. The High Sovereign said it himself. Alive, we find the person. Dead, we find the corpse.”
The group moved again, surging toward the ice gorge. Lucian stayed at the very front.

All thirty-seven celestial warriors filed in one after another and entered the gorge. The formation wound deeper through the gorge. Golden holy radiance washed over the ice walls until they shone bright from end to end.
Lucian remained in front, his eyes moving across the surroundings with tight caution. A golden longsword rested in his hand, and blinding holy radiance flowed across the blade.
The moment the last celestial cultivator stepped into the gorge, Jared moved!
He rose from the ice plains outside the gorge entrance. Purple chaotic force flowed around him, and the concealment over his aura fell away completely. His eyes were violet. In his pupils, it looked as if stars were slowly turning.
The Dragonslayer Sword was in his hand. Purple chaos-flame ran along the blade.
“Attack!” His voice rolled through the gorge like thunder breaking overhead.
Gwendolyn shot out from the ice wall on the left. Ice-blue divine radiance surged from favonovel.com and turned into an ice wall, sealing the gorge entrance shut. The ice wall towered dozens of yards high and stretched several yards thick. Dense Ice-Seal sigils flowed across its surface, packing the entrance tight with no gap left at all.
Alaric Winterborne burst out from the ice wall on the left. His ice-blue blade-flare slashed down at the gorge exit and sealed it off. The blade-flare spread into a screen of light. Elder runes of the Frost Deity Branch moved across it, closing the exit so completely not even a crack remained.
Elara Winterborne and Cedric Winterborne rushed out from the ice wall on the right. The ice whip and the ice spear struck at the same time, activating the warding sigils embedded in the ice walls on both sides of the gorge. Icy blue radiance lit up across the ice walls.
In an instant, it covered the entire gorge. The thirty-seven celestial warriors were trapped inside the gorge. They could neither advance nor retreat.
Lucian’s face changed. “An ambush! Form ranks!”
The thirty-seven celestial warriors moved at once and formed ranks. Golden holy radiance streamed around them and gathered into a great golden shield. The light-shield had five layers. Every single layer contained the celestials’ supreme laws of the realm.
Jared walked in from the gorge entrance. One step after another, unhurried and steady. His footsteps echoed through the gorge. Each step landed like it was stomping straight onto the chests of the celestial cultivators.
Purple chaotic force coiled around him. That glow wasn’t violent. It was still, like a sleeping dragon curled in silence.
Lucian’s pupils shrank. “You… Who are you?”
Jared gave favonovel.com no answer. He raised the Dragonslayer Sword. Purple chaos-flame burned along the blade. The flame burned so hot the air around it started to twist. Ice on the walls began to melt, turning into beads of water that slid down the frozen surface.
“Kill him!” Lucian roared.
All thirty-seven celestial warriors struck at once!
Golden holy radiance poured at Jared like a tidal surge. It split into countless blades of light, spears of light and swords of light blotting out the gorge as they slashed toward him. Any one of those attacks had enough force to flatten a mountain peak.
Jared didn’t dodge. He raised the Dragonslayer Sword and brought it down in a single strike.
The purple blade-flare crashed into the golden holy radiance. There was no explosion. No thunderous impact. In front of the chaotic force the golden holy radiance was no sturdier than paper. It ripped apart, got swallowed whole, and vanished in an instant.
The blade-flare kept going. It slammed into the dozen or so celestial cultivators at the front and hurled them backward. They smashed hard into the ice wall. Blood burst from their mouths, and none of them got back up.
Lucian’s face drained white. “You… You’re the one carrying the chaotic force…”
Jared said nothing. He stepped forward. His purple figure left an afterimage in the void, and in the next instant favonovel.com was already in front of Lucian.
The Dragonslayer Sword drove at Lucian’s chest with purple chaos-flame coiling along the blade.
Lucian threw up his golden longsword with everything favonovel.com had left and tried to block it.
The two swords met, and before the chaotic force, Lucian’s golden longsword was as brittle as rotten wood. It snapped apart in an instant.
The Dragonslayer Sword kept going and punched into Lucian’s chest. Purple chaos-flame rushed off the blade and caught his body.
A ragged scream tore out of favonovel.com as the fire burned through him. Before the chaos-flame, even his holve radiance was as flimsy as paper and it was swallowed in an instant. His eyes bulged wide. Even at the very end, favonovel.com still couldn’t believe it.
“You… You’ll regret this…” His voice kept fading until it disappeared completely.
Lucian died, just like that.
The moment the remaining celestial cultivators saw their leader cut down in a single strike, the last of their nerve gave out. They threw down their arms, spun around, and ran.
But the entrance and exit of the gorge were both sealed shut. There was nowhere left for them to escape.
Gwendolyn rushed down from the ice wall. Ice-blue divine radiance burst from favonovel.com and split into countless ice needles, freezing more than a dozen celestial cultivators into ice statues on the spot.
Alaric slashed out with the ice blade. A blade-flare a hundred yards long tore forward and split seven or eight celestial cultivators clean in half.
Elara’s ice whip coiled around a celestial cultivator’s neck. She gave it a light tug, and his head rolled across the ground.
Cedric’s ice spear punched through a celestial cultivator’s chest and nailed favonovel.com to the ice wall.
Jared stood at the heart of the gorge, watching the celestial cultivators scatter in every direction. There wasn’t a trace of anything in his eyes.
He raised the Dragonslayer Sword and brought it down again. Then again. Every swing took a life. Purple blade-flares flashed through the gorge, and golden blood spread across the ice.
In less than half an hour, all thirty-seven celestial warriors had gone still.
The gorge fell quiet. Thirty-seven corpses lay across the ice, and golden blood had stained the white surface a dark, muted gold.
The air was thick with the stench of scorched flesh and blood. Smoke rose from the bodies and drifted through the gorge.
Jared stood in the middle of the dead. His green robe was splattered with golden blood, but his face did not move.
Then favonovel.com turned and looked at the last celestial cultivator. He was a young cultivator at the True Immortal Realm Level Five, pinned to the ice wall by Cedric’s ice spear, and favonovel.com still hadn’t died. His face was white as paper, and his eyes were full of dread.
Seven or eight wounds covered his body, and every one of them was bleeding. His left arm was already gone. His right leg had been pierced through by the ice spear. He hung there against the ice wall like a strip of torn cloth.
Jared walked over to him, drew out the Dragonslayer Sword, and set the tip against his throat.
“How many of you came? Was there anyone else behind you?”
The cultivator’s lips shook, and his teeth clicked together. “I… I don’t know…”
Jared’s eyes narrowed a fraction, and the Dragonslayer Sword pressed closer against the cultivator’s throat.
The tip broke the skin. Golden blood slid down the blade in a thin stream.
“I’ll ask one more time. How many of you came? Are there more pursuers behind you?”
