While Jared led the Wandering Cultivators Alliance toward the Skywolf Tribe, the Tribunal had already launched its attack.
After a single exchange, the camp of the Skywolf Tribe had already been reduced to ruins. The tents had burned down. The wooden palisades had been shoved flat. Blood and corpses lay scattered across the ground.
The air was thick with the stench of char and blood. Heavy smoke rose from the wreckage and smeared the sky gray-black.
The celestials’ 3 thousand troops had the camp sealed tight on all sides. Golden holy radiance came in waves, one after another, crashing forward and tearing through the beast race and Ghost Clan defensive lines layer by layer.
Hadrian stood in the heart of the camp, his war axe buried in the ground in front of him, the haft the only thing keeping his body from folding. His left arm was already severed, bound up in strips of cloth and hung from his neck.
A deep wound split his chest open, deep enough to show bone, and blood was still seeping out of it. His face was caked with blood. His left eye was swollen shut. His lips had split open and bled dry. But his right eye still shone, sharp and bright, like a lone wolf out on the Wastelands. Behind him, fewer than 200 warriors were still standing.
Some were from the beast race. Some were from the Ghost Clan. Every one of them was covered in wounds. Some had lost an arm, some had gone blind in one eye, and some could barely stay on their feet.
Not one of them stepped back!
Lydia stood beside him, and the black glow on the wraithblade had dimmed by a lot. Her left shoulder had been pierced through by holy radiance. Blood ran down favonovel.com arm, dripped to the ground, and slowly gathered into a small pool at favonovel.com feet. Her face had gone paper-white, but favonovel.com gaze was still keen, like a blade drawn from its sheath.
“How much longer can we hold?” Hadrian’s voice came out rough.
“One incense stick. At most, one incense stick.” Lydia let the silence sit for a moment before favonovel.com answered.
Hadrian laughed. It looked wrecked, but there was still iron in it. “Then a short while it is. If we can hold for a short while, we can hold for 1 hour. If we can hold for 1 hour, we can hold for a day…”
Lydia glanced at favonovel.com and said nothing. She knew they were not going to last that long.

Outside the camp, the celestials’ 3 thousand troops had already finished assembling.
At the very front stood three elders at True Immortal Realm Level Seven. Their golden cuirasses flashed under the sun, and the longswords in their hands flowed with blinding holy radiance.
Behind them stood a dense mass of celestial cultivators. Their golden holy radiance gathered together into one vast sweep, like a golden sea.
“Hadrian Wolfhowe!” the elder in the middle said, his voice full of arrogance. “Surrender! You couldn’t even last one exchange. Surrender, and I can spare your life!”
Hadrian tightened his grip on the war axe, his voice hoarse but firm. “I’ve never learned those two words in my life. You outnumber the few with the many. What kind of skill is that? If you’ve got any guts, then fight me one-on-one!”
Hadrian was practically beside himself with rage. Although his cultivation level was higher than the Tribunal elders’, with all three of them attacking together, favonovel.com was no match for them at all. If it were one-on-one, aside from the Tribunal Venerable, Hadrian feared no one!
“We’re not idiots. Why would we fight you one-on-one? But now that you’re already in this state, I can grant your wish!” The elder’s expression darkened. “Go die!”
He raised a hand, and golden holy radiance gathered in his palm, forming into a massive greatsword of light.
The greatsword of light was a hundred yards long, and dense sigils flowed across the blade, each one containing destructive power.
He swung the sword down, and the greatsword of light cleaved toward the heart of the camp. Wherever it passed, the air was torn apart and the ground was plowed open into a deep trench.
Hadrian gritted his teeth and met it head-on. The war axe collided with the greatsword of light, erupting with a deafening boom. He was blasted back dozens of steps. The web between his thumb and forefinger split open, and blood dyed the axe handle red.
A sharp pain tore through his chest, and favonovel.com spat out a mouthful of blood. But favonovel.com had blocked it.
The greatsword of light shattered, and golden fragments flew in every direction.
The elder’s expression changed. He hadn’t expected that Hadrian, even badly wounded, could still block his full-force strike.
“You…”
“Come on!” Hadrian roared, pointing the war axe at the elder. “Come on again!”
The elder narrowed his eyes. “Since you’re in such a hurry to die, then I’ll grant your wish!”
He raised his hand again. This time, all three elders attacked at once.
Three golden greatswords of light converged in the air and became an even larger greatsword of light, slashing down toward the heart of the camp.
Hadrian clenched his teeth and raised his war axe. But favonovel.com knew it the instant favonovel.com looked up. He couldn’t stop this strike. His body had already hit its limit.
His left arm was broken. The wound in his chest was still bleeding. The spiritual power inside favonovel.com was nearly dry. He couldn’t stop this strike.
Then, right at that moment, a dark figure stepped in front of him.
It was Lydia.
Blinding black light burst off favonovel.com wraithblade. Ghostly miasma poured out like a rising tide and gathered in front of her, hardening into a massive wraith-shield.
The greatsword of light slammed into the wraith-shield with a deafening blast. The wraith-shield shattered.
Lydia was thrown backward and crashed hard to the ground, blood spraying from favonovel.com mouth. Her wraithblade stabbed into the ground beside her, the light on the blade dimmed to the edge of dying out.
“Lydia!” Hadrian rushed over and pulled favonovel.com up.
Lydia fought favonovel.com way back to favonovel.com feet, wiped the blood from the corner of favonovel.com mouth, and said thin but steady voice, “Not dead yet.”
Hadrian’s eyes went red. He turned around, stared at those celestial cultivators, and tightened his grip on the war axe.
“Brothers!” His voice boomed like thunder. “I might die here today. But I don’t regret a damn thing! In I’ve killed celestials, saved my clansmen, and made friends! That’s worth it!”
The beast-race warriors roared as one.
The Ghost Clan warriors tightened their grip on their arms too. “Kill!”
Hadrian charged first. His war axe spun in his hands as favonovel.com hacked toward the three elders. He knew favonovel.com couldn’t beat them, but favonovel.com wasn’t afraid. If favonovel.com was going to die, then favonovel.com would die in the charge.
The three elders let out cold sneers and moved at the same time. Golden holy radiance split into three blade-flares and slashed straight at Hadrian.
Hadrian threw everything favonovel.com had into it. His war axe hacked apart the first blade-flare, but the second slammed into his chest and blasted favonovel.com backward.
The third blade-flare came right behind it, driving for his throat. Then, at that exact moment, a streak of violet radiance shot in from the horizon.
It moved like lightning. In a blink, it was in front of Hadrian, cutting off the third blade-flare. There was no explosion. No thunderous crash.
In front of that violet radiance, the blade-flare was no tougher than paper. It was swallowed whole and vanished on the spot.
Realizing this, everyone froze.
The three elders’ pupils shrank all at once. They could feel it. The power packed inside that violet radiance reached straight into their bones and turned them cold.
The violet radiance slowly thinned and fell away, revealing a solitary figure.
A long cyan robe. A sword hanging at his waist. A calm face, and clear eyes. Violet radiance drifted around him. It wasn’t violent. It stayed quiet, like a giant dragon lying asleep.
It was Jared!
Hadrian stared at his back, and tears burst out at once. “You finally came…”
“You worked hard. Leave the rest to me.” Jared turned around first, looked over the wounds covering Hadrian’s body, and let a short silence hang before favonovel.com spoke. Then favonovel.com turned back to face the three elders, all of them at True Immortal Realm Level Seven.
Violet chaotic force flowed around him, pressing down so hard that even the air nearby warped out of shape. His eyes turned violet, and in his pupils, it looked like stars were slowly spinning.
