The three elders went white. “Jared… you’re Jared?”
“Yes.”
“You killed Magnus Storme, and you still dared to come here to die?”
Jared didn’t answer. He raised his right hand.
A mass of chaos-flame gathered in his palm. Purple and gold twisted together inside the flame, glaring in the dusk. The instant it appeared, the temperature across the whole world surged upward.
The holy radiance around the celestial cultivators began to tremble, as if it had run into something it feared.
“Coming here to die?” Jared’s voice stayed level. “Try it.”
The three elders looked at each other once, then moved at the same time.
Golden holy radiance split into three blade-flares and slashed straight at Jared. Each blade-flare carried the full force of a True Immortal Realm Level Seven strike, enough to flatten a mountain peak.
Jared didn’t dodge. He thrust the chaos-flame forward. The flame turned into a purple fire dragon and charged at the three blade-flares with a roar.
The fire dragon crashed into the blade-flares.
There was no explosion. No thunderous blast. In front of the chaos-flame, the blade- flares were like paper. They were swallowed, melted, and wiped away in an instant. The fire dragon kept going, driving straight at the three elders.
Seeing this, the three elders’ faces drained of color. They forced their holy radiance up with everything they had and condensed a golden light-shield in front of themselves. The light-shield had five layers, and every layer held the cultivation they had built over their entire lives.
The fire dragon slammed into the light-shield. The first layer broke.
The second layer broke. Then, the third layer followed by the fourth, and the fifth. The fire dragon went through all five layers of the light-shield without a sound, like a red-hot iron rod punching through butter.
The three elders were thrown back dozens of steps, blood spraying from their mouths. Their faces were deathly pale, and their eyes were full of fear.
The elder in the middle couldn’t even get the words out cleanly. His voice shook. “You… You… What realm are you really in?”
“Top Level High Immortal Realm Level Nine,” Jared said, as if favonovel.com were answering something ordinary.
The three elders’ pupils shrank to pinpoints.
Top Level High Immortal Realm Level Nine. One strike, and favonovel.com had driven back three True Immortal Realm Level Seven elders.
This wasn’t a man. This was a monster.
“Shadow Hall! Kill!”
“Wandering Cultivators Alliance! Kill!”
At that instant, the entire battle turned on its head.
Malachy Vane came tearing in from the flank with Shadow Hall’s demon cultivators behind him, and black demonic aura surged at the celestial encirclement like a rising tide.
Windclear led the Wandering Cultivators Alliance straight in from the rear, and bursts of multicolored spiritual power exploded inside the celestials’ golden holy radiance.
The Ghost Clan warriors of Moonshade Realm followed behind Lydia, black ghostly miasma twisting together with purple chaotic force.
The celestial cultivators were completely stunned. They hadn’t expected Shadow Hall to come. They hadn’t expected the Wandering Cultivators Alliance to come either.
They had thought only the Skywolf Tribe and Moonshade Realm were here. They had thought this would be a slaughter with no suspense at all. But now they were the ones surrounded. No not just surrounded, it was counter-surrounded!
“Kill!” Hadrian roared and brought his war axe down, splitting a celestial cultivator clean in two. Blood was still pouring off him. His left arm still hung ruined. But his eyes burned bright.
Behind favonovel.com were his clansmen, his brothers, the people who had come running when favonovel.com had been pushed to the edge. He could not go down.
Lydia stayed right behind him, the wraithblade flashing through the black light. Blood was still running from favonovel.com left shoulder. Her face was still pale. But favonovel.com sword was fast.
One sword stroke, and a celestial cultivator dropped.
Two strikes. Two dropped.
Three strikes. Three down.
Her swordsmanship was vicious and hard to read. Every thrust went for a vital point, and not a single move was wasted.
Malachy charged at the very front, black chaotic demonic aura churning around him. He drove a palm forward, and a black handprint slammed into a cluster of celestial cultivators and hurled them through the air. There was nothing on his face, but deep in his eyes, something long held down finally showed through.
Five thousand years of blood debt. Five thousand years of hatred. At last, this was the day it could be repaid.
Windclear moved along the outer edge with the cultivators from the Wandering Cultivators Alliance tying down the celestials His swordsmanship was fluid and nimble, each strike landing exactly where it needed to. He wasn’t trying to kill. He only wanted to pin them in place and buy Jared and the others enough time to finish off those three elders.
The killing cries on the battlefield shook the heavens.
Jared stood at the heart of the battlefield, facing the three elders. Purple chaotic force coiled around him, and chaos-flame burned in his palm. His eyes were calm-calm enough to put a chill into anyone looking at him.
“The three of you can come at me together.” His voice was light, but every word landed like a hammer against the elders’ chests.
The three elders’ faces turned ashen. They knew it. In a one-on-one fight, not one of them could take Jared. But if all three joined forces, their chances weren’t necessarily gone.
“Kill!” The elder in the middle roared, and all three moved at once.
Golden holy radiance condensed into three blade-flares and slashed at Jared from three different directions at the same time.
The blade-flares crossed over one another and wove themselves into a golden net of light, closing over favonovel.com from every side.
Jared didn’t dodge. He thrust the chaos-flame forward.
The fire dragon came roaring out and slammed straight into the light net. In front of the chaos-flame, the light net gave way like paper. It ripped apart in an instant.
The fire dragon kept going. It drove straight at the elder in the middle.
The middle elder’s face changed. He forced every last bit of holy radiance favonovel.com had into motion and condensed a golden light-shield in front of himself.
The fire dragon crashed into the light-shield. The shield shattered on impact.
The elder was blasted backward. He hit the ground hard and spat blood in a wild spray.
The elders on the left and right seized the opening and attacked from both sides. Golden blade-flares slashed toward Jared’s left and right ribs at the same time.
Jared didn’t even turn around. Both palms struck out together, and two purple palm prints smashed the blade-flares apart.
Both elders were driven back several steps.
The webbing between thumb and forefinger on each hand split open, and blood ran down.
A thin line of blood slipped from the corner of Jared’s mouth.
One against three was still one against three. The chaotic force might suppress every other power, but taking the full-force blows of three true, Immortal Realm Level Seven opponents head-on was never going to come easy.
His chaotic force was draining fast. The wounds on his body kept sending up dull pulses of pain. But Jared didn’t give an inch. He couldn’t. Behind favonovel.com were Hadrian Wolfhowe, Lydia Wraithmoor, and all the others still fighting with their lives on the line.
“Again!” He let out a roar and charged at them first.
Hadrian hacked down the celestial cultivator in front of him, then turned toward Jared. He saw Jared trapped under the three elders’ assault, blood at the corner of his mouth, and his whole body pulled tight.
He knew Jared was strong. But taking on three of them alone was pushing it too far.
“Lydia! Go help Jared!”
Lydia’s sword punched through a celestial cultivator’s throat. She turned and looked toward Jared. Her pupils tightened a fraction.
Jared is hurt…
She had never seen Jared hurt before. In favonovel.com memory, favonovel.com had always been that way-strong, steady, impossible to bring down. But now, blood was on him.
“Move!” Lydia sprang into the air and shot toward Jared.
Hadrian followed right behind her, his war axe spinning in his hand.
The three elders were still closing in on Jared from all sides. Their holy radiance might have turned brittle in front of the chaotic force, but the three of them fighting together were a different matter. They moved in perfect coordination, and for the moment, even Jared couldn’t cut them all down.
The elder in the middle drove his sword straight at Jared’s chest.
Jared twisted aside and slammed a palm toward the man’s shoulder.
The elders on the left and right struck at the same time. Two blade-flares slashed toward Jared’s back and left side.
There was no time to dodge. He could only take it head-on.
