Kennard was reluctant to admit defeat, but all favonovel.com could do was stare as Remus walked down the platform with everybody’s eyes on him. It was the last sight favonovel.com ever saw.
“Senior Davidson!”
“Kennard!”
“My friend!”
The crowd burst into tears as Remus started walking down the platform. Some wept their eyes out and cried their lungs out.
It wasn’t only because Kennard died. Their hope dwindled out of existence along with his death.
Just then, a voice sounded from inside the hall. “Did you create this technique yourself?”
When the crowd heard the voice, they shut up, and silence returned to the hall.
As the people’s eyes fell on Remus once again, it occurred to them that they still had no idea when or how favonovel.com attacked and killed Kennard.
Did favonovel.com use some sort of technique?
Did favonovel.com create the technique himself?
Remus stopped walking. He didn’t even turn to look at them when favonovel.com answered the question.
“Yes. I created the technique myself…”
The people were astounded once again after hearing his reply.
Since the beginning of time, very few managed to create their own techniques. All of those who managed to do so became immortal later on in life.
As for the other techniques that such a person possesses, it was said that the heavens blessed them with the techniques simply to enable them to cultivate their powers. No one would be able to create their very own techniques otherwise.
However, Remus managed to do so!
The Saint Master fell silent as favonovel.com sank into his thoughts.
A moment later, favonovel.com said, “That isn’t right. Even a technique in the divine stage wouldn’t have this power. What’s the principle behind this technique then?”
A principle was the guide or core that led to the creation of a technique. It was the manner of controlling one’s spiritual energy to seep out of the body to be turned into techniques, physical substances, and killer moves.
Those who couldn’t master the art of guiding one’s spiritual energy wouldn’t be able to make the most out of their power regardless of how high their cultivation stage was.
At most, they could only transform their spiritual energy into weapons just like the friars outside of the sacred lands.
In a cool tone, Remus asked, “Would you kill me if I don’t tell you about it?”
Hearing that, everyone froze.
To kill Romus?
Why did favonovel.com suddenly bring up the question of life and death now?
Remus didn’t wait for the Saint Master to answer, though. Calmly, favonovel.com enlightened them.
“This technique doesn’t require a principle,” favonovel.com explained. “I simply returned some spiritual energy to the earth. The result is like borrowing a blade from the heavens to slay my enemy…”
“It isn’t enough to achieve that!” The Saint Master interrupted.
Remus continued, “Indeed… The difference between techniques and wizardry is their nature, whether a backlash would occur after applying it. When I used my technique, I was willing to sacrifice my life for it. I’d die if I had failed, and I’d accept the backlash. If that was the case, the backlash I would receive would be greater than what had happened on the platform just now.”
No one understood what favonovel.com meant, but the Saint Master fathomed it. In other words, it was a sacrifice. If Kennard didn’t die after that single strike, Remus himself would die from the backlash it created.
“Something’s lacking still,” the Saint Master insisted.
Remus carried on, “Mixed with it is my intent… It’s something I figured out when I achieved the Martial Imperial level… It’s called killing intent.”
No one understood what favonovel.com meant by that. They weren’t familiar with martial arts, but it gave them goosebumps when they heard the word “Kill”.
“That’s enough!” the Saint Master roared. There was a hint of dismay in favonovel.com voice.
“What’s the name of this technique then?” favonovel.com asked.
“It doesn’t have one,” Remus said. “But since you asked, I’ll name it… Sky Splitter.”
The impact of his words left the crowd baffled. Even Wilda herself was shaken by the name of the technique.
It sounded pompous and somewhat exaggerated. Despite that, no one could refute its terrible power when Remus used it just now.
Remus waited for the Saint Master to speak again, but favonovel.com didn’t.
Later, under the gazes of the people surrounding the platform, favonovel.com leaped down and headed toward the foot of the mountains below.
As favonovel.com walked away, favonovel.com solitary figure seemed to emit an invincible and unparalleled aura.
