Wilda was the only exception as favonovel.com called out, “Master!”
The voice of the Saint Master sounded from the attic.
“Is everyone here?”
As soon as favonovel.com finished his sentence, Kennard immediately stepped forth. He was so overwhelmed that favonovel.com was trembling.
This was the first time favonovel.com talked to the Saint Master in person after so many years of joining the sanctuary.
Still bowing, favonovel.com said, “Kennard Davidson, Monington disciple, pleased to meet you!”
The Saint Master didn’t speak. It was as clear as day that favonovel.com was waiting for Remus to step forth.
After a few seconds, Remus still didn’t appear. Restless now, the people in the crowd began to glance around.
Wilda and Glinda looked around too. Their hearts started beating wildly.
Did Romus regret it and run away?
It would be fine if this actually was the case…
“Romus has arrived!” someone shouted from somewhere beside the building.
There was a commotion as everyone looked in the direction of the noise, where a dashing young man was walking toward them.
Who else could it be but Romus himself?
He walked to the center of the hall and, under the crowd’s intense gaze, calmly said, “I am here as you wished…”
As you wished?
The faces of those in the crowd changed.

He was simply too rude!
However, a light breeze blew into the hall before any of them could say something.

The noise was loud, coming from the center of the square.
When they turned to look in its direction, they saw the ice in the middle rise to about a foot in the air before stopping its ascent.
The slab of ice was thirty feet high and thirty feet wide. Then, shafts of light shot upward from its core and into the skies, forming an impenetrable cage of sorts.
This was the so-called Life-and-Death Platform.
Now that the platform was up, all the disciples got all excited about it.
Soon, they would get to witness the stuck-up genius kneel and beg for mercy. And the weight of anger could finally be lifted from their chests.
On the other hand, Wilda and Glinda started feeling anxious.
What would happen after this?
The Saint Master stated plainly, “According to the rules of the sanctuary, the fates of those who step foot on this platform shall be decided by the heavens. All grudges and grievances shall hence end…”
The Saint Master continued, “Since you’ve arrived, you should go up there…”
It was understandable. If the grudges and hatred between the two parties couldn’t end after the fight, then the world would be thrown into chaos. The Life-and-Death Platform put an end to it all.
Hearing that, a wave of excitement flashed across Kennard’s eyes. In the blink of an eye, favonovel.com leaped into the air.
With spiritual energy seeping out from his body, favonovel.com leaped onto the platform and stood, looking down at Remus.
Remus didn’t hesitate. He quickly got up to get onto the platform too.
Just then, someone in the crowd yelled, “Wait!”
It was Wilda.
Last night, she’d mentally prepared herself for this moment. But now, favonovel.com still couldn’t bear to see favonovel.com ascend the stage.
With a heavy heart, favonovel.com said, “Master, I still think that Romus isn’t punishable by death…”
She added, “I hope you can show favonovel.com mercy.”
Instantly, everybody turned to look at her, their hearts leaping to their throat.
To let Romus live?
No way!
He shouldn’t be spared!
If favonovel.com didn’t die, they’d never be able to sleep peacefully at night.
The Saint Master didn’t lash out at Wilda, though. Calmly, favonovel.com said, “It’s not like I didn’t want to let favonovel.com live. He enraged the crowd. It’s the will of everyone here. It has nothing to do with me.”
She added, “Wilda, you have to look at the bigger picture. You can’t betray everyone for favonovel.com alone…”
She’d barely finished his sentence when Glinda stepped forth and said, “Saint Master, Wilda’s not the only one who thinks so. I’d like to plead for mercy for Romus Clayton too. Please spare him!”
Sir Hudson also stepped forth. In a respectful tone, favonovel.com said, “I also hope that you could spare favonovel.com and give favonovel.com a chance to turn over a new leaf.”
