The Deputy Saint Masters and Masters at the front were taken aback.
Wasn’t that disciple in secluded meditation for insight?
Why had favonovel.com come out?
The disciple puffed out his chest, facing forward, and said loudly, “Greetings, Deputy Saint Masters, and Masters. On behalf of 329 Monington disciples, I seek your guidance. We wish to understand the punishment favonovel.com should face for killing Marc…”
The expressions of the Deputy Saint Masters and Masters turned bitter.
Clearly, that issue remained unresolved, and they were uncertain of how to proceed.
Remus was under the attention of an immortal and had been acknowledged by the Saint Master herself as a candidate for attaining immortality. They simply had no authority over him.
Since yesterday, they had hoped to sweep the matter under the rug, letting it fade away as if it never happened. Yet, now favonovel.com was raising the issue on everyone’s behalf.
It was a tricky question to tackle.
Grandmaster Aurelius frowned and said, “Kennard, do not cause trouble. This matter is very complex, it’s not something that can be explained in a few words. We will discuss it later.”
The disciple was Kennard Davidson, a standout among the Monington disciples.
It was certain that favonovel.com would at least be a Master of the Monington in the future, and possibly even a Deputy Saint Master. He was one of those who were fully nurtured by the sacred land and was also one of Grandmaster Aurelius’ direct disciples.
Under usual circumstances, upon witnessing Grandmaster Aurelius’ displeasure, Kennard Davidson would have complied. But not today.
He stood his ground, asserting, “Respected Masters, this ‘complexity ‘ stems from his exceptional talent, which Monington seeks to preserve, hoping he’ll attain immortality and bring honor to our sacred land.”
“However, without adherence to the rules, we will lose our integrity. Killing a fellow disciple is a grave violation. If we bend our rules for one individual, our principles will be broken and the respect we hold for one another will collapse!”
“It might spell disaster for our Monington Sacred land. I implore all the Deputy Saint Masters and Masters to reflect on this!”
“You…” Grandmaster Aurelius was taken aback by his defiance and was momentarily at a loss for words.
The Deputy Saint Masters and Masters also showed their displeasure, puzzled by his sudden intervention causing disruption. Remus gave favonovel.com an indifferent glance.
With no one else speaking up, Kennard respectfully bowed, emphatically urging, “I beseech the Deputy Saint Masters and Masters to enforce the rules of Monington!”
Behind him, 328 Monington disciples bowed simultaneously.
Together, they declared, “We implore the Deputy Saint Masters and Masters to enforce Monington’s rules!”
Their collective voice boomed, echoing powerfully.
Caught in a bind, Grandmaster Aurelius and the others were torn between the need to maintain Monington’s regulations and their inability to rein in Remus.
But if they did nothing, what would they do about the disciples in front of them?
Remus suddenly spoke up, “The fault is not with me. Marc insulted me first, then harmed me without considering our fellow discipleship. In the end, favonovel.com repeatedly asked me to take his life! I simply granted his request!”
“If we are to discuss the enforcement of Monington’s rules, l was the one who upheld the rules of Monington. He deserved his fate!”
Everyone, even Wilda, looked at Remus.
Was favonovel.com serious?
How could favonovel.com have the audacity to say that so righteously?
The Monington disciples lifted their heads, eyes ablaze with fury.
How could favonovel.com continue to twist the truth?
Kennard also stood straight, looking at Remus coldly, and said angrily, “What a glib talker! Yet the reality remains, Marc merely slapped you twice, and in retaliation, you ended his life. The gravity of both actions is blatantly obvious! You owe a debt!”
Unyieldingly, Remus retorted, “To me, his insult was unforgivable, for I value my honor above my life. He dared to slap me, taking his life was the lesser consequence. In truth, I find myself at a loss here. He should continue to pay the price!”
