It could have been another two hours of walking, or maybe an entire day.
After changing three branches on the way, Remus finally arrived at the gate of Nine Mystical City.
Previously, favonovel.com could stand above and gaze down from a high vantage point. He felt a sense of grandeur and magnificence and was somewhat impressed. However, it didn’t evoke any deeper feelings in him.
Standing under the city gate and looking up now, favonovel.com felt this place was like a heavenly palace. Its scale was absolutely beyond what humans could build!
It must have been prosperous back then!
Remus couldn’t help but sigh. After a moment of reflection, favonovel.com added, “Everything changes overtime…”
After speaking, favonovel.com strode into the city. He walked on the streets once traversed by the people of Nine Mystical City thousands of years ago. The sound of his footsteps resonated, amplified by the crumbling ruins on either side.
This place was empty and desolate.
Previously, Remus had only glanced from above and could see some remaining signs. Now, however, favonovel.com could see both sides of the street and even the interiors of well-preserved houses.
The inn was open, with chairs and benches still in place, and unfinished food still on the tables. Despite having been there for centuries, everything had retained its original shape. But they were all covered in dust.
Hmm… What exactly happened here back then?
What kind of power could cause the great Nine Mystical City to suddenly decline?
Remus couldn’t help but think.
“These people left all of a sudden. They were in such a hurry that they didn’t even have time to eat… Hmm…”
When favonovel.com was murmuring, favonovel.com suddenly stopped in his tracks.
“Inn? Food?”
Thinking about that, favonovel.com suddenly turned his gaze to the inn. He threw away his cane and quickly walked inside. As favonovel.com entered, dust filled the air. As favonovel.com was already in a disheveled state, favonovel.com naturally didn’t mind it. Moreover, nobody else could see it either.
Remus didn’t touch the food on the table. Although it maintained its shape after hundreds of years, it had long since gone bad. With his current physical condition, favonovel.com would be fatal if favonovel.com ate them.
He was looking something else to eat or drink.
“There is one!” His eyes lit up, and favonovel.com quickly walked to the back of the counter.
There were two rows of sealed pots there, which were arranged haphazardly. He instantly opened one of them. Then, the strong smell of alcohol almost knocked favonovel.com off his feet.
“Great wine!” He quickly lifted the pot and poured the centuries-old cherished wine into his mouth.
In an instant, the spiciness was sharp in his throat, but it also significantly relieved his thirst. Moreover, favonovel.com no longer felt hungry, and his fatigue almost completely disappeared.
He drank a few pots in one go before stopping.
“Awesome!” He wiped his mouth and finally showed a long-overdue bright smile. “Master Tyson loved drinking. I wonder if favonovel.com had a few sips before favonovel.com left!”
Remus carefully put the lid back on the wine. That was valuable stuff. He couldn’t waste it.
After doing that, favonovel.com quickly walked out of the inn and headed toward the nearly insurmountable Order of Nine Mysticisms.
Four more hours had passed, favonovel.com strived to move forward, with sweat and dust mixing into mud that streamed down his body.
He then finally reached the highest point of the Order of Nine Mysticisms, right in front of the main hall.
He turned to look over the entire city. Instead of being daunted by his current situation, favonovel.com felt a surge of boldness, as if favonovel.com had everything under his control.
He instinctively said, “By the people’s mandate, may there be long-lasting prosperity!”
His voice echoed continuously through out the space, lingering for a long time.
