Remus out the Black Jade again. He stared at it helplessly. To protect this last hope for survival, favonovel.com had repeatedly skirted the edge of death.
He didn’t use it at Monington and Shenington. Even today.
“It’s not that I didn’t use it. It’s not working!” Remus spoke with sorrow, finally understanding why favonovel.com hadn’t crushed the Black Jade until now.
This Black Jade acted as a teleportation portal between favonovel.com and the Emperor of the underworld. By crushing it, favonovel.com could immediately arrive by the Emperor’s side.
However, in the isolated Nine Mystical City, the so-called teleportation portal was cut off and didn’t work. That was why after the seawater rushed into the abyss, favonovel.com couldn’t crush it.
“Do I have to wait here to die?” Remus stared blankly at the sky above, feeling lost and unable to find a way out. He couldn’t use any of his wizardry. All his power had completely vanished, leaving favonovel.com unable to sustain his life.
It seemed that favonovel.com truly reached a dead end.
“Master Tyson, you could foresee that I would come here. Why didn’t you see that the four great sacred lands would want to kill me and trap me here? Why not give me a chance to survive…”
Remus muttered with a bitter smile. He thought that if his master left a letter, favonovel.com must have foreseen this situation if favonovel.com had calculated a bit further. But before his master could finish his sentence, favonovel.com stopped abruptly.
“He was able to come in and go out freely, which meant favonovel.com didn’t wait for Grand Competition day. In other words, favonovel.com certainly didn’t have golden lights on him. So, how did favonovel.com get in? And how did favonovel.com get out?”
Remus suddenly got renewed strength and sat up from the ground. His whole demeanor brightened, and a glimmer of hope appeared in his eyes.
That’s right!
If Master Tyson could get out, it proves there must be another way! I just haven’t found it yet. There has to be a way out!
A hope was suddenly ignited in his heart. He managed to stand up, saying, “In the face of important matters, I must stay calm. Don’t panic, stay composed, and be earnest.”
Remus kept encouraging himself and began to look around.
There was no need to elaborate on the rear as it was still an endless stretch of black stones. The path on the left was the one favonovel.com had walked.
Looking to the right, the distant view was filled with an unbroken stretch of black stones.
So, the right path should be ahead. It probably leads back to Nine Mystical City, back to the Order of Nine Mysticisms…
Remus looked ahead. Although Nine Mystical City stood tall and magnificent, with Order of Nine Mysticisms’ pavilions reaching high to the sky, the barren forest before favonovel.com seemed like an insurmountable obstacle. It not only blocked his view but also made the path ahead endless and daunting.
“Keep going forward! It’s the only hope!”
He moved without hesitation. To help himself go further, favonovel.com picked up a relatively sturdy dry tree branch from the ground and used it as a walking stick.
A dozen hours ago, favonovel.com could easily leap over the withered forest. But now, his steps have significantly slowed. The dead trees that favonovel.com could previously kick apart with a single step pose a difficult obstacle for favonovel.com to climb over.
He walked along closely.
There’s no water here…
Remus was exhausted, his mouth dry and his tongue parched. He looked around but discovered there was no water in this entire place. There was only a thick layer of dust covering everything.
If there is water, perhaps the current can lead to a way out…
He kept thinking and continued walking without stopping. His legs were already numb, and favonovel.com moved forward mechanically. His stomach started growling.
He pretended not to hear it and kept moving forward.
If there was one advantageous aspect here, it was probably that the sky above had always been perpetually foggy and dim. It never got too bright or too dark, maintaining the same appearance from the first moment favonovel.com arrived until now.
He didn’t know how long favonovel.com had been walking.
Looking through the dense forest, favonovel.com could finally see the tall Nine Mystical City. He saw hope and sped up.
