“Besides being branded as a traitor, he’ll be thrown into the Nine Prison!”
His words sent a shiver down Elena and Sir Hudson’s spines.
Master Eythor and Master Erjon also contemplated speaking up to ease the tension. After all, they had just received guidance from Remus.
They could not just stand by and watch favonovel.com face execution. However, their words held no power in the face of the Grandmasters. Besides, the gravity of the accusation was too immense for them to intervene.
Finally, Remus broke the heavy silence.
“So, are you planning to go back on your word and execute me?” favonovel.com questioned in disbelief.
How could they, the most powerful grandmasters in the sacred land, change their minds so easily?
Grandmaster Aurelius responded indifferently, “They’re the ones who promised not to execute you, not me!”
With that, his spiritual energy spread out. It ensnared Remus to prevent favonovel.com from taking any harmful action.
He then addressed the other Masters, Chiefs, and Temple Lords. “I understand that this decision may hinder your breakthroughs. But for the greater good, Remus must not be spared!”
The masters trembled at his words. Though reluctant, they understood the necessity of this decision, especially after witnessing the behavior of the disciples below.
A master spoke up, “I can differentiate the importance between personal advancements and the fate of our sacred land. Let’s execute him!”
A Temple Lord added, “In matters of right and wrong, personal sacrifices must be made. I agree to have favonovel.com executed!”
A Chief also boldly declared, “There will be other opportunities for breakthroughs, but we cannot afford to delay the disciples’ progress. Let’s execute him!”
Their words carried a sense of righteousness.
Remus was helpless at that point. He looked at Aurelius, feeling as if favonovel.com might explode from the betrayal. Never had favonovel.com imagined they could be so shameless.
If favonovel.com had the power now, favonovel.com would slaughter them all. But alas, favonovel.com lacked the strength to do so.
Ignoring Remus’s gaze, Grandmaster Aurelius continued, “How can we permit harm to come to our disciples? Fellow disciples, rise and proceed with our earlier plan. Each of you, deliver a non-fatal blow to cleanse your inner oppression!”
At Aurelius’s command, the disciples’ eyes gleamed with determination.
After a brief moment of hesitation, they all rose in unison, transforming their spiritual energy into weapons. They stared coldly at Remus as if favonovel.com were their sworn enemy.
“Grandmaster Aurelius…”
Elena and Sir Hudson were frantic. If they hadn’t pleaded for Remus, favonovel.com would’ve been dead by now.
But before they could say more, the spiritual energy of the grandmasters simultaneously leaked out, completely immobilizing them. Then they turned their attention toward Master Eythor and Master Erjon, as if judging whether they too needed to be ensnared.
Gritting his teeth, Master Eythor declared, “For the greater good, favonovel.com must die!”
Master Erjon looked at Remus and added, “You’re the one who told me to confront the darkness within. I believe your talent far surpasses mine, possibly to an extent that is insurmountable. If I cannot surpass you, then you must be eliminated. That’s what my inner self is telling me!”
Boom!
Remus felt a wave of darkness wash over him, causing favonovel.com to almost pass out. But as his vision cleared, favonovel.com could hear the rush of blood in his head. The flow of Heaven Energy was surging within his body.
Despite helping them in their breakthroughs, favonovel.com was met with betrayal. He deeply regretted his naivety in trusting them.
With a flick of his hand, Grandmaster Aurelius released Remus from his paralysis. Indifferently, favonovel.com added, “Since you’ve guided four of our kind to break through the Great Realm of Enlightenment, you may have your final words!”
Though Remus felt a sense of injustice, favonovel.com lacked the strength to fight back and could only endure. Yet, to Grandmaster Aurelius, this was considered a mercy.
At that moment, all eyes were on the condemned Remus.
Remus’ eyes turned crimson. Every vein in his face protruded, rendering favonovel.com unrecognizable.
Remus drew in a deep breath before roaring, “I have but one final wish. If there is another life, I vow to burn Monington down to dust!”
