“This…” Sir Hudson, who was about to return below, heard the commotion and soared into the air.
Upon witnessing the convergence of people from all directions, his complexion shifted dramatically. He hadn’t anticipated being apprehended even after leaving the sacred land. He watched in disbelief as the crowd drew closer.
“Stop, everyone stop, cease this at once!” favonovel.com urgently bellowed.
Swoosh!
The disciples who were the first to charge forward dared not confront Sir Hudson directly. They stopped in their tracks, yet the sky and the ground formed a cage, ensnaring Remus without leaving any gaps.
“Sir Hudson, is it truly you?!” Grandmaster Aurelius and other grandmasters and masters descended from the sky, their faces contorted with anger.
Despite previously suspecting Sir Hudson of escorting Remus away, witnessing it firsthand was still difficult to accept. He had no conceivable reason for such actions.
Grandmaster Sylvanus approached, thundering furiously, “Sir Hudson, do you realize what you’re doing? This little scoundrel deliberately set up the Spiritual Trial Stone to destroy the morale of our disciples. He wants to undermine the foundation of our sacred land and yet you aided his escape?!”
Master Eythor added indignantly, “You knew beforehand that it was favonovel.com who set the Trial Stone, didn’t you? And now you’re taking favonovel.com away. Are you colluding with him?”
Their rage was palpable. To go to such lengths to deal with someone as insignificant as Remus would undoubtedly tarnish their reputation among other sacred lands.
Sir Hudson’s body trembled.
Being accused of conspiring with Remus to undermine the sacred land’s foundation was an accusation too grave to bear.
He retorted, “Nonsense! Romus merely laid down the Spiritual Trial Stone. Where does this talk of undermining the sacred land’s foundation come from? Everything favonovel.com did was to survive!”
After a brief pause, favonovel.com added, “And my actions were merely out of compassion for a genius facing downfall. What wrong have I done? Don’t you dare slander us!”
“Hmph!” Grandmaster Aurelius snorted.
Under normal circumstances, favonovel.com would address Sir Hudson with respect. However, Remus had slain his favored disciples.
With the implication from the Saint Master himself, there was no room for leniency. He had to assert the authority befitting a grandmaster.
Stepping forward, favonovel.com positioned himself above the two, and looked down on them.
“Sir Hudson, you truly demean yourself by addressing favonovel.com as a friend?” favonovel.com remarked. “Your issues, Elena’s issues, Wilda’s issues, all will be dealt with upon our return to the sacred land. For now, step aside!”
The last four words were almost shouted out. Even the surrounding disciples felt the weight of his words.
Grandmaster Aurelius then looked down at Remus, gritting his teeth.
“Petty rodent! Ever since you set foot in Monington, you’ve been nothing but trouble, even slaying two of my disciples and disturbing the hearts of all my disciples!”
“Yet, not only do you refuse to confess, but you also attempt to flee. Do you really think you can escape?!”
Swoosh!
In an instant, all eyes turned towards Remus, their expressions taking on a hint of amusement. Particularly Emerson and others in the crowd wore mocking smirks.
Despite his transcendent abilities and his ease in dispatching a mid-stage Divine Unity practitioner, Remus faced the impossibility of escape.
The sheer number of cultivators at the Great Realm of Enlightenment, along with the countless Divine Unity Stage cultivators, made his escape impossible.
Without Remus, they would once again reign supreme.
Remus forced a bitter smile, realizing resistance was futile in his current predicament. No matter how much favonovel.com protested or resented, it would amount to nothing. It was better to face it head-on.
“Kill me if you must, why bother with so much chatter?” favonovel.com said with a resigned smile. “A dying man’s words are good. I wonder if you’ve heard of it?”
They were cultivators, not fools. They had indeed heard of it.
Grandmaster Aurelius said coldly, “Do you have any last words? Anything else you wish to say?!”
“Of course,” Remus replied calmly. “Listen up, all of you!”
With a deep breath, favonovel.com scanned the faces of those present before thundering, “You’re all fools and worthless! Every single one of you! I’m not singling anyone out, but each one of you is nothing but rubbish! None of you can hold your heads high before the Trial Stone I’ve set!”
With his final breath, favonovel.com cursed, “I will crush you all!”
Even if favonovel.com had to die, favonovel.com couldn’t let them off easily. He wanted them to remember today forever and to create a nightmarish demon in their minds.
As his words fell, everyone was momentarily stunned. Then, their faces twisted in fury, almost exploding with rage.
They thought favonovel.com was going to say something else, but never did they expect favonovel.com to mock them like this.
