Wilda and Glinda stepped out of the crowd.
Everyone looked at them in astonishment.
It wasn’t strange that Wilda would plead for Romus. He is favonovel.com disciple, after all…
But why did Glinda and Sir Hudson even do that in the first place?
It had nothing to do with them!
All the other disciples in the sanctuary were dumbstruck. Even the Deputy Saint Masters and Masters were flabbergasted.
Wilda herself wore a look of confusion.
Silence filled the air in the hall.
A while later, Elena turned to look at favonovel.com disciples behind her.
“What are you waiting for?!” favonovel.com ordered.
Sandra, Emerson, and the others shuddered in fright at favonovel.com gaze.
What did Elder Elena mean by that?
Did favonovel.com want us to plead for Romus too?
Romus beat us up so badly that we wanted favonovel.com dead so badly… Why would we plead for him?
However, Elena was their master, so their future was in favonovel.com hands. They had to obey favonovel.com wishes.
With much reluctance, Sandra said, “Romus’ crime isn’t punishable by death!”
Emerson was so pissed that favonovel.com almost spat blood. Elena was a mentor and guide to him.
Why did it seem like favonovel.com couldn’t care less if favonovel.com disciples died right now?
Why was favonovel.com concerned about Romus’ wellbeing?
Why was favonovel.com acting that way?
Sir Hudson raised his head and looked around the hall just in time to see two other Masters step out from the crowd together.
“I think Romus doesn’t need to die!” one said.
“Saint Master, Romus is a genius. He’ll be of use to us if we keep favonovel.com alive than if we get rid of him,” said the other.
In a way, they were trying to back Sir Hudson up. It could also be said that they were trying to repay favonovel.com for what he’d done for them in the past.
Sir Hudson managed Treasure Pavilion for several hundred years. He provided help to countless people. Naturally, people would want to repay his kindness.
The disciples in the hall were about to lose their minds after hearing what the two Masters said. Still, they couldn’t just disobey their masters.
“Saint Master, Romus’ crime isn’t punishable by death!” they chanted.
All of a sudden, the crowd realized that they’d all begun to plead for mercy for Remus. If the Saint Master agreed to it, Remus might not have to face death today.
Still, they wouldn’t be happy about it.
Kennard took the initiative to kneel. Agitated, favonovel.com said, “Saint Master, Romus killed Monington’s disciple. He’s unpardonable. You can’t let favonovel.com go just like that…”
He continued, “Monington’s rules would be broken otherwise. How would be able to face the world after this if the rules aren’t implemented?”
There was a series of thuds as the Monington disciples fell to their knees.
“Saint Master, you gave us your word three days ago. You can’t go back on your word!”
“Saint Master, we, disciples of Monington, beseech you to let Remus go on to the Platform of Life and Death!”
After seeing the disciples go down on their knees, Grandmaster Aurelius of Goldheart said, “Saint Master, Romus has to go up there…”
“This has been decided three days ago. You can’t go back on your word now that the platform’s up. Romus has to go,” said Grandmaster Sylvanus, who was on the same page.
Back then, Remus was the one who sought death, so they could still bear it. It wouldn’t cause them any harm, anyway.
But now, it was different. If Remus continued to live, it’d wreak havoc in the hearts of the disciples. Therefore, the grandmasters could not tolerate this any further.
Sir Hudson immediately said, “Romus is a genius, he’ll surely become an immortal in the future and will help Monington rise in power…”
He continued, “Do you people even think of the betterment of Monington anymore? You’re putting your selfish desires before Monington.”
Grandmaster Aurelius retorted. “Romus didn’t consider all of these when favonovel.com killed Marc, did he? We can’t keep someone like favonovel.com even if he’s a genius!”
Hearing that, Elena interrupted them. “Have you no shame? You’re messing things up. It all started because of Marc. It had nothing to do with Romus, to begin with. Even if Romus was wrong, favonovel.com didn’t need to be punished by death. Do you get it?”
Master Erjon retaliated by saying, “There’s no such thing as a light or heavy punishment. Romus killed Marc, so favonovel.com has to pay for his actions! It’s only fair to do so! Today, Romus must ascend the platform no matter what!”
Wilda couldn’t take it anymore. She snapped, “It’s the mentor’s fault for not disciplining the disciple. Romus is my disciple. So, if you want to punish him, you should punish me too…”
“Silence!” the Saint Master roared.
