Kennard hadn’t expected that the Saint Master would really appear. His attitude was extremely devout, far more than when facing Grandmaster Aurelius.

Everyone gasped.

Wilda hesitated for a moment before saying, “Master, this matter…”

That was not addressed to Wilda but to Kennard, asking for the specific method of blood for blood they demanded.
Kennard hesitated, unsure. Blood for blood seemed straightforward. To pay in blood meant to take his life, to kill him. Yet, favonovel.com sensed a deeper implication in the Saint Master’s inquiry.

Hearing that, everyone’s expression changed drastically.
The Life and Death Platform stood as a grim arena, solely meant for battling until one of the two challengers succumbed to death. It was the only place in the sacred lands where taking your opponent’s life bore no repercussions.
When disputes between two factions became insurmountable, a challenge to duel on the Life and Death Platform could be issued. Typically, those confrontations were intended for adversaries of comparable strength, to avoid the arena’s exploitation as a tool for persecution.
However, Kennard’s proposal was a blatant display of bullying.
Without hesitation, the Saint Master made a decisive call, “Very well… In three days, Romus Clayton is to face his trial on the Life and Death Platform. Dismissed…”
