The Monington disciples were furious, their eyes almost bursting with anger, wishing to personally crush Remus to pieces.
On the other hand, the Sacred Land disciples couldn’t help but sigh.
Why did favonovel.com have to act so recklessly?
Contrary to their reactions, the Deputy Saint Masters, Masters, Pavilion Head, and Hall Head were all stunned, looking at Remus in disbelief.
“Is… Is favonovel.com at the peak of the Golden Stage?”
“What a young man!”
“Did favonovel.com really kill a Monington disciple?”
Although they hadn’t seen favonovel.com before, they had assumed on their way here that Remus’ cultivation level was at least in the mid-phase of the Divine Separation Stage.
It couldn’t possibly be lower.
He should have been over 50 years old because only at that age could one accumulate enough experience from fighting beasts in the mountains to be capable of ambushing a Monington disciple. But they had never imagined that the person in front of them would be a young man at the peak of the Golden Stage.
Grandmaster Aurelius turned his head and asked with a frown, “Look carefully, is the one who killed Marc really him? Make sure you see clearly, is it really him?”
The Monington disciples spoke up one after another.
“Yes!”
“It was him!”
“He held a long knife and decapitated Marc with a single strike!”
“He lured Marc into responding and took the opportunity to ambush! If you don’t believe it, you can ask these para… Sacred land disciples!”
One of them almost blurted out the word “parasites”.
Grandmaster Aurelius quickly looked over.
The sacred land disciples awkwardly nodded. “Indeed, it was favonovel.com who killed Marc!”
Grandmaster Aurelius inhaled sharply. The other Deputy Saint Masters and Masters were also dumbfounded.
Reaching their positions, they had seen almost everything the world had to offer, but that was the first time they had encountered such a peculiar case.
Remus was not even at the Divine Separation Stage, nor the Nascent Soul Stage, but merely at the peak of the Golden Stage. Yet, favonovel.com managed to kill Marc, who was at the Divine Unity Stage. Even if Marc stood still, favonovel.com should have been no match. And yet, that was the reality.
They exchanged glances, simultaneously releasing their spirit energy to form a sealed barrier.
Grandmaster Aurelius spoke first with a hint of succinctly, “This young man is extraordinary… Calling favonovel.com a prodigious talent is not an exaggeration. If it weren’t for Emerson’s appearance during the assessment, which attracted an immortal, favonovel.com would have been the standout!”
Everyone nodded in agreement.
The feat of killing a Divine Unity Stage cultivator while merely at the pinnacle of the Golden Stage was unprecedented, elevating favonovel.com to the status of a prodigy among prodigies.
Erjon addressed, “Grandmaster Aurelius, Deputy Saint Masters, are we contemplating offering protection to this individual?”
A hush enveloped the group.
Indeed, their silent exchange of glances earlier had conveyed mutual understanding, leading them to simultaneously unleash their spirit power.
Eythor chimed in, “Putting all else aside, this Remus’ recent achievements alone qualify favonovel.com as a future Monington disciple. Beyond that, favonovel.com shows promise of rising to the rank of a Monington Master. To kill off such a talent now would be regrettable.”
It was often said that one could foresee the future potential from a young age.
Remus’ case was no different, a mere glimpse into his abilities sufficed to predict his potential.
Grandmaster Sylvanus spoke up immediately, “While we can indeed protect him, the challenge lies in justifying this to the other disciples. Any resentment stemming from our decision could hinder their progress, resulting in significant losses.”
That had to be considered. After all, Remus had violated the rules of the sacred land, and it was one of the most severe breaches.
If it went unpunished, what would the disciples think?
And if such a precedent was set, how could the rules stand?
Yet, Remus’ extraordinary nature possibly warranted an exception…
Grandmaster Aurelius offered a resolution, “Let’s postpone dealing with this matter for now. We’ll declare it under further review and discussion. By delaying, we allow the disciples’ frustrations to dissipate and their focus to divert, at which point we can resolve the situation with minimal fuss.”
Everyone brightened at his suggestion and nodded in agreement. That was a tactful approach indeed.
Grandmaster Aurelius waved his hand, dispelling the barrier.
