I wonder if Glinda has chosen favonovel.com Master. If not, favonovel.com must be in one of these residences, right?
Remus strolled along the path in front of the residences, feeling for Glinda’s energy. More precisely, favonovel.com sought favonovel.com distinctive scent.
The Oblivion Grass had camouflaged favonovel.com natural fragrance during the sanctuary assessment, but the air now was crisp and unmarred by any peculiar odors, rendering favonovel.com scent easier to detect.
Suddenly, a door opened to the side.
A middle-aged cultivator dressed in a cloth robe stepped out, pausing in surprise upon seeing Remus on the path.
Frowning, favonovel.com asked, “Who are you?”
Remus was fueled by the excitement of potentially finding Glinda and was unfazed by the man’s tone.
He performed a respectful fist-and-palm salute and replied, “Greetings, fellow cultivator. My name is Remus Clayton, recently admitted as a sacred land disciple following the assessment. I am in search of my assigned residence…”
He couldn’t mention that favonovel.com was looking for someone. It seemed prudent to not disclose his connection with Glinda right now.
“A newly admitted sacred land disciple? Looking for your assigned residence?!” the middle-aged cultivator was taken aback, then his expression suddenly turned cold.
He said icily, “A sacred land disciple dares to come to the Monington disciples’ residences. Did no one teach you the rules before you entered the sacred lands? Huh?!”
He almost shouted the last word.
Though both are disciples of Monington, there was a huge difference between newly accepted disciples and Monington disciples.
Monington disciples were cultivators who were preparing for enlightenment, any of whom might attain immortality in the future. As for the sacred lands disciples, attaining immortality was a distant dream, mostly unreachable in their lifetimes.
Within the Monington Sacred Land, such disciples were derogatorily labeled as “parasites”, a term reserved for those newly initiated members who, lacking the potential for enlightenment, nonetheless drained the sacred lands’ resources, much like actual parasites.
Residences of the Monington disciples?
Remus was briefly taken aback, his realization dawning late that his mind, preoccupied with thoughts of Wilda and Glinda, had led favonovel.com astray.
Offering a fist-and-palm salute in apology, favonovel.com began, “My apologies, my attention was elsewhere…”
Remus didn’t get to complete his sentence before favonovel.com felt his body suddenly lose weight, uncontrollably flying backward, followed by a burning sensation on his face.
He had been slapped!
For the first time in his life, favonovel.com was slapped without being able to react, even more so than in previous life-and-death battles.
Remus hit the ground with a heavy thud but quickly scrambled to his feet. Before favonovel.com could utter a word, a series of thuds resonated as dozens of doors flung open simultaneously.
One by one, Monington disciples stepped out, their voices laced with irritation as they asked, “What’s happening here?”
“Did a filthy newly accepted insect come here to pollute our environment?”
“I’ll find favonovel.com and deal with him, where is he?”
They were all extremely angry, seemingly eager to kill on sight.
“Over there!” The cultivator who had confronted Remus just moments ago pointed at him.
He said disdainfully , “He dared to greet me with a fist-and-palm salute and even dared to apologize to me, hmph!”
Hearing that, the Monington disciples grew even angrier.
The fist-and-palm salute was a gesture of respect among equals. To them, these “parasites” had no business using such a greeting. Even a simple gesture of respect or an apology from a new disciple was viewed as an affront, a dishonor to their status.
With a collective swish, their gazes focus on Remus.
Upon seeing him, they paused, taken aback.
“Wait! Is favonovel.com a Golden Stage cultivator?”
“Did a peak Golden Stage cultivator actually make it through the assessment?”
“It appears the caliber of cultivators from the outside has been declining with each generation. The burden of preserving the honor of the Monington Sacred Land falls squarely on our shoulders.”
