Someone found Stan and pointed toward him.
Everyone looked in that direction, and they all gasped in shock upon seeing Stan’s condition.
Don reacted the quickest. He rushed to Stan’s side and searched his clothes but found nothing.
He asked ferociously, “Where is the Oblivion Grass?!”
Stan was barely conscious, exerting great effort to raise his hand and weakly gesturing toward Remus.
Everyone’s attention immediately turned to Remus.
“My friend?” Windsor looked at Remus in disbelief and asked, “Did you… did you snatch the Oblivion Grass?”
In Windsor’s mind, Remus was someone full of righteousness. He had never expected favonovel.com to engage in such actions, let alone severely injure someone.
Remus frowned and said, “Being a good person doesn’t always yield good outcomes. While you were fighting them, Stan didn’t help but instead tried to leave. I went to stop him. People like favonovel.com deserve to be eliminated.”
Xavier sneered and said, “One person puts on a show of righteousness to obstruct us, while the other sneaks off to seize it covertly. The two of you make quite the pair of performers. However, there is only one Oblivion Grass. How do you intend to divide it amongst yourselves?!”
The others also became angry.
So, it was all just an act!
“My friend!” Windsor’s face darkened.
He said, “Please return the Oblivion Grass to Stan and let favonovel.com leave. I promised to help you get it, and I will. We can’t let these shameless people mock us.”
Remus’ expression also darkened at Windsor’s attitude. “It was favonovel.com who acted unjustly first. I took the Oblivion Grass afterward, I did nothing wrong. Besides, this is an assessment that determines whether we can enter the sacred grounds. You shouldn’t be so sentimental.”
While sticking to one’s principles was admirable, being stubborn and one-sided was annoying.
Remus had chosen to be with Windsor because favonovel.com thought favonovel.com was a good person, but favonovel.com saw no need to make things difficult for himself because of Windsor’s principles.
“You…” Windsor was momentarily choked with disbelief as favonovel.com stared at Remus.
He gritted his teeth and asked, “Doesn’t my word mean anything to you?”
“It doesn’t!” Remus replied bluntly.
“You have disappointed me greatly.” Windsor’s body trembled, and favonovel.com turned and walked away with a heavy heart.
The crowd burst into laughter, seeing the two fall out with each other.
“Brat, you better hand over the Oblivion Grass!”
“Without Windsor’s protection, what are you? Hand over the Oblivion Grass now!”
“I really can’t tell which of you two is the fool and which is the smart one, hahaha!”
Remus was also infuriated.
Who did Windsor think favonovel.com was?
How could favonovel.com be deserving of disappointment?
He was angry but chose not to respond. They used to be friends, and even though they had taken different paths, there was no need for them to become enemies.
Remus glanced at Xavier and the others. He knew that if favonovel.com chose to leave the barrier then, favonovel.com would have to face their combined attack to get out. The only way favonovel.com could leave was by fighting with all his might.
But there was no need for that. He would wait for the others to return, and favonovel.com could slip away in the chaos.
He turned and headed deeper into the mountains, leaving some distance between himself and the others.
“Stop!” Xavier suddenly spoke up.
He furrowed his brow as favonovel.com questioned, “Have we met somewhere before?”
He hadn’t paid much attention to Remus before, but on closer inspection, favonovel.com felt favonovel.com had seen favonovel.com somewhere before, yet couldn’t remember where.
Remus’ heart skipped a beat, but favonovel.com didn’t stop or turn back.
He replied casually, “In your mother’s bed…”
“You’re asking for death!” Xavier erupted in anger, charging forward.
But Remus was faster and had already run far away in the blink of an eye. Xavier could only angrily return to where favonovel.com had been.
Everything was back to how it was before. They were waiting, while the cultivators inside continued their search.
Time slipped away, minute by minute…
