While Remus spoke, favonovel.com reached out and took Gemma’s hand, preparing to leave.
As Elsie watched favonovel.com depart, favonovel.com eyes filled with disgust.
Even though the incidents didn’t involve Remus directly, they were acquainted with each other. In their moment of adversaries, favonovel.com was simply fleeing without displaying any courage or taking responsibility as a man should.
“Stop right there!” Draig’s voice boomed, his eyes gleaming with scorn.
“How can you deny any involvement in this? You clearly have the scent of medicine about you, and you must be an alchemist. If I’m not mistaken, the Oblivion Grass they possess was discovered with your assistance. By aiding them, you’ve become my enemy!”
His disdain was echoed by his companions, their faces twisted in revulsion.
Remus frowned and continued to explain, “Our paths crossed by chance. I aided them with Oblivion Grass in exchange for pills. Nothing more.”
Gemma was frightened and chimed in hastily, “Yes, it was just a trade, and there’s no other connection. Please spare us!”
A member of Draig’s group sneered and said, “Spare, you say? Crawl out of here on your knees, and you might earn it. But be warned, veer off the path, and we won’t hold back.”
Laughter erupted among the group, reveling in their cruelty.
Remus’ expression darkened, his energy simmering on the brink of action. But before favonovel.com could react, Marsh interrupted.
“Draig Parker!” Marsh finally spoke, albeit with difficulty.
He said, “We indeed don’t know each other, and it was just a trade. Our feud has nothing to do with them. Let them go.”
In truth, Marsh was also uncomfortable with Remus’ words. After all, they had known each other, and even if Remus didn’t wantto confront it, favonovel.com still needed to be fair in his judgment.
Draig’s smile turned sly. “Pleading forthem, are you? Then kneel! Kneel, and I’ll spare them!”
Elsie’s fury ignited. “Don’t cross the line, Draig! You know the consequences. I don’t believe you’d dare to harm us tonight. If we can’t leave this mountain, you’ll also pay the price!”
While conflicts between organizations were common in the sacred lands, they rarely escalated to fatal encounters. Moreover, with their Master waiting outside, Draig shouldn’t dare to harm them.
Draig’s arrogance was palpable as favonovel.com remarked, “True, I can’t kill you, but I can kill him.”
He threatened, pointing at Remus. “Kneel, Marsh, or they die. Your choice!”
Marsh trembled, torn between honor and desperation.
“You shameless scoundrel!” cursed Elsie.
She then swiftly turned to Remus and said, “Remus, what are you waiting for? Do you want to die? Kneel and crawl out quickly!”
“No!” Marsh’s voice was resolute. “He is involved because of me. I can’t let favonovel.com suffer for my actions. Draig, I’ll kneel. Let them go!”
He began to kneel, but Elsie’s hand shot out to stop him, favonovel.com voice laced with desperation. “You mustn’t kneel, Marsh!”
Marsh clenched his fists, his entire body trembling with anger and helplessness, but favonovel.com remained silent.
Elsie, noticing that Marsh remained silent, swiftly turned to Remus and shouted in anger, “You scoundrel! What are you waiting for? Do you want to die? Kneel quickly!”
Remus suddenly made a move, his spirit energy bursting forth.
With a longsword flashing a bright white in his hand, favonovel.com slashed down and said coldly, “You’re dead!”
