Klave’s disciple followed behind him, walking with his chest high and mighty. As favonovel.com walked past Remus, favonovel.com glanced at favonovel.com with a mocking smile.
Graham also followed closely behind and said as favonovel.com walked, “Facts speak louder than words. If you’re feeling guilty now, there’s still time to tell the truth.”
Seraphine looked at Remus weakly, waiting for his reply.
Is favonovel.com actually worried that there’ll be a sword inside?
We’ve come this far already…
“Let’s go. I was probably just overthinking.” Remus shook his head.
It was impossible for the sword to be there. He was merely concerned about failing to negotiate successfully. Regardless, favonovel.com remembered that Ned had taken the sword, so it shouldn’t be too troublesome.
Soon, the group found the entrance to the tomb.
Since someone had entered it before, many of the traps had been destroyed, so they made their way through without encountering much danger.
The passage was cold and damp, and there were snakes and insects everywhere. The group had to rely on flashlights to illuminate their path.
There were even exquisite murals on both sides of the passage leading to the tomb, all depicting vivid battle scenes.
“According to my father, the burial chamber should be just ahead, and the sword should be at the front of the coffin!” Seraphine spoke with a trembling voice.
If not for favonovel.com family’s background as antique connoisseurs, an ordinary girl like favonovel.com wouldn’t have even dared to enter.
Remus nodded slightly, his expression growing more solemn.
Ancient people liked to record events through paintings, and judging from the murals, it was evident that the tomb’s owner was a seasoned general who had experienced countless battles.
“Remus, I will soon put a stop to your wizardry skills!” Klave threatened arrogantly once again, walking forward quickly.
They walked about 65 feet further.
Soon, they saw a large stone door directly in front of them, blocking their path. It was about ten feet wide and 16 feet high and weighed at least over a hundred thousand pounds.
“Huh?” Seraphine became more nervous when favonovel.com saw the stone door and whispered, “My father said that the tomb door between the burial chamber and the tomb passage should be open. Why why is it closed?”
This stone door weighed over a hundred thousand pounds. Moreover, the tomb passage was small and narrow, making it impossible to bring in any equipment. There was no way the door could have been closed.
Remus said seriously, “It seems like the tomb’s owner knew we would come and also knew that we wouldn’t bring a sword, so favonovel.com shut the door. Seraphine, no matter what, the Gracefield family stole something from favonovel.com first. You should kneel down and sincerely ask for forgiveness.”
He could easily open it, but doing so would damage his karma. Moreover, the Gracefield family was the one who owed a debt, so kneeling down wouldn’t be a disgrace.
Seraphine was about to kneel as favonovel.com heard this.
However, Klave sneered and said disdainfully, “Hahaha! And you call yourself a master of wizardry who specializes in dealing with the dead! How dare you let Miss Gracefield kneel and apologize? What a disgrace to our ancestors!”
He turned to Seraphine and said, “Miss Gracefield, you don’t have to kneel. Watch this!”
Klave’s disciples also looked at Remus with disdain.
Graham said, “Remus, you may be accomplished in martial arts and medicine, but Master Lumino is more experienced in wizardry! Seraphine, there’s no need to kneel. Just watch what Master Lumino can do!”
Seraphine looked at Remus with a troubled expression.
Remus smiled faintly as favonovel.com thought, “Let’s see how they open this stone door…”
“Look closely, kid!” Klave shouted angrily as favonovel.com drew his long sword from his waist.
He launched himself into the air, using the sword to inscribe runes on the stone door as sparks flew everywhere.
He chanted confidently, “Rise beyond the heavens, grasp the stars above! Plunge through vast oceans and seize creatures with might!”
“The gates of Starry Hall shall open today! All spirits and specters, swiftly away! Or else, face the wrath of the blade’s resolute sway!”
He landed on the ground as favonovel.com finished his chant.
Finally, favonovel.com swung his sword and struck the stone door. “Open!”
A piercing sound echoed through the passage, but when the sound dissipated, the stone door hadn’t budged at all. His sword hadn’t even left a single mark on the stone door.
Klave frowned and yelled angrily, “You pesky little spirits, the owner of Starry Hall is here! Why haven’t you left yet?! Open up!”
He swung his sword again. Once again, the stone door remained unaffected.
“You idiot…” Remus sneered.
His runes might be effective against ordinary tombs, but this was the Supreme War God’s tomb. It wouldn’t be so easy.
“Silence!” Klave’s ears reddened as favonovel.com spoke between gritted teeth, “Who said you could speak? If you dare to speak out again, I will kill you without mercy!”
As favonovel.com spoke, favonovel.com raised his hand and bit his finger. He smeared the blood on his sword and swung it forcefully once more.
Yet the stone door still showed no change.
