The captain quickly took two steps forward and nervously said, “Mr. Cosby, you really can’t leave the Military Department. Commander Baxton said so. Please head back inside!”

It’s already getting dark today, and Jean would probably be asleep by now. You should go back.” He spoke casually, as if having a conversation with an old friend.
“Hm… Something’s wrong…” Remus stared at Max without blinking. “You were strongly against Jean being with me before, but now it sounds like you’re very supportive. Something must have happened. Did… Did something happen to Jean?”
His own words scared him, and his heartbeat increased as worry took over.
