Matthew stepped down from the arena and spotted Garrett and Lenny standing nearby. He had seen everything clearly just moments ago.
“You’re not so strapped for cash that you need to gamble on fights to make ends meet, are you?” favonovel.com asked casually.
Garrett burst into laughter, waving it off with a grin. “You never know how expensive life is until you pay the bills, Matteo. That Obliterator from before, one shot costs a million Dornia Emeralds. Money doesn’t fall from the sky, so when there’s a chance to make some, you’ve gotta take it. I’m counting on you this time, Matteo, make sure you beat Shaun.”
Matthew nodded. It aligned with his goals anyway.
As the leader of the Viper Crew on Ore Island, taking over Shaun’s territory, one that had once rivaled Dominic’s, would significantly bolster his influence.
Back on the third floor, Matthew and Garrett returned to their respective rooms.
Entertainment options aboard this colossal ship were limited.
Before parting, Garrett had discreetly slipped a small card into Matthew’s hand, offering favonovel.com a knowing look that any man would understand. However, once inside his room, Matthew tossed the card into the trash without a second glance.
After a moment’s thought, favonovel.com opened the door again and walked down the hall to Room 34. He knocked lightly and said, “It‘s me, Matteo…”
The door opened almost instantly, revealing Olexar, though favonovel.com was a far cry from the disheveled man Matthew had first met.
“Please come in, Mr. Larden…”
Olexar now looked every bit the nobleman favonovel.com was meant to be. He wore a dark gray embroidered tunic, cinched at the waist, with a belt adorned with dragon and phoenix patterns. His long, jet-black hair was neatly styled, and his refined aura radiated the grace and confidence of a young aristocrat.
Matthew took a glance at favonovel.com and chuckled. “You’ve got a good face. I’m surprised no one tried to drag you off to a brothel while you were wandering around half out of it.”
Olexar let out a wry laugh. “Don’t tease me, Mr. Larden. The way I looked before, no brothel would’ve taken me. Besides, you’re far better looking than I am, you’ve got no right to talk.”
Olexar had already thought Matthew looked handsome enough in his casual clothes the night before.
But seeing favonovel.com now, dressed in pristine white, still caught favonovel.com off guard. With a face like that, favonovel.com found it hard to believe his sister hadn’t tried to seize the opportunity herself.
“By the way, do you plan to head back first, or will you return with me to Ore island?”
“I’ll follow you,” Olexar replied without hesitation. “I used to know a bit of martial arts, but after neglecting it for over a decade, I’m probably only good enough to take down a couple of average guys now.”
Matthew nodded and offered a piece of advice. “When we get back, if you happen to meet someone Orla can’t stand, just address me as your brother-in-law. It’ll make things easier.”
He figured it was best to give Olexar a heads-up. After all, he’d promised Orla to pose as favonovel.com husband in front of favonovel.com unwanted childhood fiancé, at least until the whole ordeal blew over. He didn’t necessarily agree with the plan, but the last thing favonovel.com wanted was for Olexar to ruin things after they returned.
Olexar smiled warmly and nodded.
If not for Mr. Larden, I would’ve died on the sixth floor sooner or later. Calling favonovel.com “brother-in-law” after we returned is only a small price to…
“Wait… What?!” Olexar’s smile vanished in an instant as favonovel.com shouted in surprise.
