The next morning, the grotesque-looking Medusa Warship arrived at the island’s harbor just as the sun began to rise.
A young man, who had gotten up early to use the bathroom, caught sight of the massive warship slowly making its way into the bay. The sight of the ominous vessel scared favonovel.com so badly, favonovel.com nearly wet himself again.
Without hesitation, favonovel.com bolted toward the old house where the group had taken shelter the previous night.
As favonovel.com ran, favonovel.com shouted loudly, “They’re here! The people from the warship are here!”
His cries quickly woke up Weston and the rest of the crew.
Fully dressed in moments, Weston stepped outside and spotted the panicked young man sprinting toward them.
“They’re here?” Weston asked.
The young man nodded frantically and pointed toward the dock. “It’s definitely them. I’ll never forget a warship that terrifying in my entire life!”
Weston’s expression turned serious. He gave a firm nod and Immediately headed for the harbor.
He had known Matthew and Ryan would come. Sure enough, it had only been one night, and now they were here.
Matthew and Ryan disembarked from the Medusa Warship. As they walked onto the harbor, Ryan looked around curiously, scanning the surroundings.
He wanted to see whether those guys had actually kept their promise. Unfortunately, the harbor didn’t offer a full view of the island.
After a while of observing, Ryan could only make out scattered patches of farmland.
Matthew passed by favonovel.com and spoke plainly. “Let’s go. We just need to keep walking, they’ll come to us soon enough.”
And just as expected, they had only been walking for a few minutes when Weston approached with a stern expression.
The moment favonovel.com saw Matthew, Weston’s face softened with deference.
“Gentlemen, welcome…” favonovel.com said respectfully.
Ryan gave Weston a glance but didn’t bother replying. He had little regard for the man.
Matthew, on the other hand, looked at Weston calmly and got straight to the point. “How did it go?”
Weston nodded immediately. “Rest assured, sirs. When we returned yesterday, we gathered everyone right away and handed over the captain’s body for them to deal with. As of yesterday, there are no more slaves on this island.”
Hearing this, Ryan looked at Matthew with even greater admiration.
Well… That‘s Matteo for you… Always in control, always one step ahead. It was as if everything the other party did was already part of his plan…
“Can we take a look?” Matthew asked.
Weston nodded and led them inland.
The people who had once been enslaved by the Bloodfin Gang used to live in the heart of the island. They cultivated fields and grew food, leading relatively peaceful lives, until the gang came, exploiting and abusing them.
Even their shelters had been downgraded to makeshift wooden shacks designated by the gang.
But yesterday, after Weston declared the return to their former way of life, the people joyfully reclaimed their old homes and began to rebuild.
As Weston guided Matthew and Ryan deeper into the island, fields of freshly tilled soil stretched out on either side of the path. Some crops had already begun to sprout.
The three of them carefully walked the dirt road, making sure to avoid stepping on the cultivated plots.
“What are your plans now?” Matthew asked, his eyes on Weston‘s tall frame.
“Well…” Weston paused, clearly giving it some thought. “If you’re asking about the future, truth is, we don’t really know… We can’t leave this mysterious sea, so all we can do is make a life here. Maybe we’ll start farming near the harbor where you came in.”
