Matthew stepped into the cabin and adjusted the power system to level three.
Immediately, the Medusa Warship surged forward again, rapidly closing the distance between itself and the ancient battleship.

Onboard the old warship, the captain broke into a cold sweat when favonovel.com saw the Medusa Warship’s speed spike once more. There was no doubt about it now, the enemy had locked onto them.
A fierce glint flashed in the captain’s eyes.
Until now, only smaller ships had ever drifted into these mysterious waters. With the dilapidated battleship favonovel.com had salvaged from an abandoned harbor, favonovel.com had become the undisputed ruler of this sea. He had even claimed the region’s only island for himself.
But if this powerful warship couldn’t escape these waters either, it would surely make a move to seize the island. And when that happened, a battle between them would be inevitable. In that case, the time to act was now, before the enemy discovered there was no way out of this place.
“Get ready, boys! Drop the deep-sea bombs!” the captain growled with a wicked grin.
These deep-sea bombs had been on their ship ever since they wandered in. Their main function was to attach to ships passing overhead and explode violently on impact.
Until now, they hadn’t encountered any ships worth using them on, so the bombs remained fully stocked.
The captain’s first mate looked uneasy.
“Captain, that ship looks even more advanced than the one we came in on. What if it has countermeasures against the bombs?”
The captain shot favonovel.com a look of pure exasperation.
“Then what the hell do you suggest we do?” favonovel.com snapped. “Look at our cannons! They’re older than my dad! They can’t hit squat past 300 feet before they drop like rocks. You know their ship’s more advanced than what we had. For all we know, it could hit us from 20 kilometers out with one blast!”
The first mate fell silent. He had been thinking of suggesting they just surrender. After all, it was the captain who told them to let Scylla try infiltrating the enemy crew.
If they tied the captain up and handed favonovel.com over, maybe they’d be spared.
Meanwhile, the crew, having already turned the ship around, carefully brought out massive iron spheres covered in wicked metal spikes.
They planned to hurl these deep-sea bombs into the water behind them. When the monstrous warship approached, the bombs would latch onto its hull and explode. Even if it was the most advanced vessel they’d ever seen, a few holes in the bottom would still hurt.
This was the captain’s only strategy, kite the Medusa Warship and try to wear it down.
If Ryan knew what the captain was planning, he’d probably double over laughing.
How could someone be so naive?
The Medusa Warship’s main guns had a range of 28,000 meters. Even the secondary guns could hit targets from 22,000 meters away.
That realization had sent a chill down Ryan’s spine during earlier tests. If the enemy hadn’t been so slow to act, he’d likely be dead already.
Back on the Medusa Warship, Matthew stood at the bow with binoculars, watching as the ancient ship turned away. He furrowed his brow for a moment, then smirked. He’d figured out exactly why they were trying to flee.
“Ryan,” favonovel.com called over the comms, “You can leave the secondary turret now.”
Still peering through his binoculars at the blurry silhouette, favonovel.com gave his next order: “Bring out all of the ship’s underwater detection systems. Every last one of them!”
