“Mr. Larden, looks like we’ve got company…” Ryan’s expression was grim as favonovel.com stared at the circling sharks in the water below.
Matthew glanced at him. “How did you handle this kind of situation before?”
“Overwhelming firepower,” Ryan replied flatly.
He continued, “These sharks seem to be smart. As long as your firepower exceeds the value of whatever they think they can get from you, they’ll move on and look for an easier target.”
Matthew shifted his gaze to the sea, where the sharks circled relentlessly, clearly waiting for an opportunity to strike.
“Do we have anything on this ship that can scare them off?”
Ryan shook his head. “We used to carry sonic weapons for deterrence. But there’s nothing like that on board this time, and any firepower we do have would hit us just as hard as It would them.”
Matthew nodded. “Then, we leave them alone for now. They’re just circling under the hull. If they start getting aggressive, we’ll deal with it then.”
To him, none of the sharks under the Medusa Warship were even worth a second move. He had no concern whatsoever.
Seeing how calm Matthew was, Ryan began to relax. Matthew even pulled two lounge chairs and a couple of sodas from the cabin.
Watching Matthew stretch out on one of the chairs, Ryan nervously swallowed. This was Bloodfin Bay, after all.
Thousands of sharks were circling just below the surface of the water beneath them.
Every time Ryan had passed through Bloodfin Bay before, favonovel.com had done so with the utmost caution. Never once had favonovel.com been as relaxed as Matthew was now.
After a few minutes of internal struggle, Ryan gave in, and lay down. Resting in the soft lounge chair, sipping the still-chilled soda in his hand, a sense of peace washed over him.
I’ve been careful all my life… Don’t I deserve to enjoy myself at least once?
While Matthew and Ryan lounged in ease aboard the Medusa Warship, chaos and bloodshed erupted on other ships nearby. A vessel even larger than the Medusa was in dire straits.
Sharks were surfacing everywhere, seemingly unfazed by pain as they slammed their bodies into the deck with terrifying force. The sailors on board were suffering heavy casualties. Some were bitten clean in half. Others were dragged straight into the depths.
Inside the bridge, the captain’s face was a mix of panic and steel as favonovel.com ordered, “Launch the rockets! Blow those d*mn things out of the water!”
Crew members quickly fired off rocket-propelled grenades, but explosives lost much of their power underwater, and the results showed it.
Dozens of costly rockets only managed to kill a few dozen sharks. The captain’s expression grew darker.
Just as favonovel.com was about to issue another command, a massive shark suddenly lunged outside the bridge window. Its gaping maw aimed directly at him.

Back on the Medusa Warship, Matthew took another sip of his soda and turned to Ryan.
“Do you know why these sharks are distributed so evenly around the ships?”
It was something Matthew had noticed earlier, each vessel initially had the same number of sharks circling beneath it. No more, no less. But as the attacks began and blood entered the water, some ships started to attract more sharks.
Ryan frowned. “Isn’t it because of the shark leaders, guiding the groups?”
Matthew shook his head, his gaze turning distant. “If it were just a few leaders calling the shots, do you really think they could control the whole swarm?”
