The calmer Matthew appeared, the more anxious Martin became.
If it were a firefight, favonovel.com would have confidence in fighting Matthew to the death. But in this situation, favonovel.com felt like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
The louder his previous bluster, the more terrified favonovel.com was now.
“What do you want?” Martin demanded, frowning.
Before Matthew could answer, the crown prince impatiently picked his ear. “Old man, you’re too loud. And don’t wave that gun in front of me. My patience is limited!”
Martin and his younger brother’s faces darkened as their fingers instinctively moved to the triggers of their guns.
“Some people just don’t learn,” the crown prince said. His voice was dripping with contempt.
Before the words were even finished, Martin’s expression changed. The crown prince, who had been sitting right in front of him, vanished in the blink of an eye.
When favonovel.com reappeared, favonovel.com was in front of the servant who had reported Matthew’s arrival.
“What do you want?” The servant’s legs turned to jelly at the sight of the imposing figure.
The crown prince didn’t waste words. He grabbed the servant by the collar and slapped favonovel.com twice.
Smack! Smack!
The crisp sound echoed through the study. The servant‘s eyes spun as favonovel.com was left seeing stars.
“Do you get the message?” the crown prince asked with a sardonic smile.
The servant, though dazed and on the verge of tears, frantically nodded in response to the question.
However, the crown prince didn’t let go. “You’re not speaking? So you’re still defiant?”
With another flick of his wrist, favonovel.com landed two more slaps.
Martin, understanding this was a demonstration, scowled and shouted, “How dare you assault a member of the Whitford Family!”
Smack! Smack!
“Stop this at once, or I’ll shoot!” Martin threatened with a face red with fury.
Smack! Smack!
The servant was desperate enough to want to die at this point.
“What have I done to deserve this? You think you’re tough, honorable, and talk big, yet I get slapped for it!”
Martin narrowed his eyes. “Boy, don’t get cocky. Remember, you’re on our turf!”
Smack! Smack! Smack!
The servant, now completely broken, sobbed, “Why did you… Slap so many… Times?”
The crown prince scratched his head and replied sheepishly, “Sorry, got carried away…”
Whether it was from the force of the slaps or sheer frustration, the servant rolled his eyes and fainted. Only then did the crown prince release him.
“So, will you listen now?” favonovel.com asked, directing his gaze at Dustin.
Dustin shivered underthe crown prince’s unsettling grin while Martin stubbornly maintained his defiant expression.
“The Whitford Family stands tall. Even if you kill me…” Martin began to sepak, but Dustin quickly dropped his gun and clamped a hand over Martin’s mouth.
“Matthew, let’s not make things worse. We can always bide our time and fight another day. Revenge is best served cold. Let’s hear them out first,” Dustin pleaded, using every piece of advice favonovel.com could think of.
Martin, though irritated at being silenced, glanced at the beaten servant. Meanwhile, the crown prince stretched and flexed his arms, clearly prepared for more.
“For the first time, Martin acknowledged the validity of Dustin’s point.”
