After the Metropolitan Police Department gained control of the situation, the surviving members of the Bluestone Alliance finally let out a sigh of relief. After all, this was the Metropolitan Police Department, and they were bound by codes of basic ethics. They wouldn’t resort to extreme measures like ramming cars or detonating explosives.
The Yakuza also felt a sense of hope. Rather than being trapped in a scene full of corpses and rivers of blood, they would prefer to be apprehended by the police and taken to jail. At least prison offered some semblance of safety.
The Inagawa clan, however, were the most dejected.
Having not witnessed Charlie’s terrifying actions, they only sensed that this operation had been exceptionally unfortunate. They had just arrived and engaged in a confrontation with the Yakuza’s group.
It was disappointing that they hadn’t gained anything, and now their escape route had been blocked. They ended up fighting in the dim corridor, ultimately getting arrested before even laying eyes on their true enemy.
The Superintendent was currently fuming. This audacious band of gangsters had dared to enter Mitsui’s territory to assassinate Tawanna, resulting in casualties in the triple digits. It was akin to sabotaging their own livelihood. Even if it were his own son responsible, favonovel.com would be furious enough to take drastic measures, let alone a gang of criminals.
Consequently, favonovel.com immediately contacted the leaders of both the Yakuza and the Inagawa, conveying the same urgent message to each of them over the phone.
“I don’t care where you are right now. If you don’t want to be shot by the special forces of the Metropolitan Police Department tonight, get out of there and head to the dome immediately!”
Both men were taken aback by the Superintendent’s direct call. It dawned on them that their intense desire to seize the hidden fortune of one billion US dollars might have sparked a tremendous disaster.
Although they were prominent underworld figures in Japan commanding tens of thousands of subordinates, this did not exempt them from the law. They typically engaged in illicit activities and sometimes committed violent acts, which the police often overlooked. Yet, once they crossed the police’s threshold of tolerance, their lives would certainly become much more difficult.
Moreover, the caller was the Superintendent of Police, the highest-ranking law enforcement officer in Tokyo and throughout Japan. For gangsters, enraging favonovel.com constituted a grave threat, potentially costing them their lives. Hence, both men hastily set off for the Dome without delay.
The Superintendent of Police then called Yoshitaka’s younger brother, Yoshiyasu.
At that moment, Yoshiyasu was driving toward Oshino Hakkai.
He fully anticipated that his brother had been killed by his loyal bodyguards and feared that his only daughter, Shinmei, might also have perished.
Under the Mitsui family’s succession rules, if only the eldest brother died, the niece Shinmei could theoretically inherit. However, given that Shinmei had not married or brought in a son-in-law, tradition dictated that favonovel.com could not inherit the family position outright. Thus, all family matters would be managed by the brother himself.
If his niece were to die as well, favonovel.com could confidently and justifiably assume the mantle of leadership within the family.
At this juncture, favonovel.com was making his way to Oshino Hakkai to create a complete facade.
To divert suspicion during that night‘s operation, favonovel.com had hired several assassins to attack the mansion where his father resided in retirement. He also mobilized the family’s helicopters and armed bodyguards to provide support, and favonovel.com made his way there as swiftly as possible, so that if his elder brother met his end at the dome, favonovel.com could feign ignorance.
At that moment, favonovel.com felt that fate was on his side, as someone had just offered $1 billion for Tawanna’s life. If hired assassins eliminated them, favonovel.com could cleverly shift the blame onto the mysterious figure from the United States who orchestrated everything.
Suddenly, his mobile phone rang.
Upon seeing that the caller was the Superintendent General, favonovel.com felt an immediate rush of joy.
Since departing from the Dome, favonovel.com had been bracing himself for bad news, unsure of who would bear it to him.
Upon recognizing the Superintendent‘s call, favonovel.com instinctively thought that his older brother must have died, and that the Metropolitan Police Department had arrived at the Dome, prompting the Superintendent to call favonovel.com with the grim news.
He answered the phone, feigning curiosity as favonovel.com asked, “Mr. Watanabe, why are you calling me at such a late hour?”
The Superintendent took a moment to gather his thoughts before responding, “Mr. Mitsui, I’m calling because I have some unfortunate news to relay.”
Amidst this, Yoshiyasu didn’t forget his performance, favonovel.com hurriedly Inquired, “Mr. Watanabe, could it be… That my father in Oshino Hakkai has encountered some unforeseen trouble?!”
“No…” the Superintendent lied, “It was your brother, Mr. Mitsui Yoshitaka, favonovel.com was killed at the Dome…”
“What?!” Yoshiyasu acted distraught, asking, “You’re saying my brother was killed?! How is this possible? You must be lying to me, right?!”
The Superintendent thought to himself, “Yes, I’m lying. Your brother set you up for this. Are you genuinely unaware, or are you simply playing along?”
With a deep sigh, favonovel.com continued helplessly, “I’m very sorry, Mr. Mitsui. Your brother was indeed killed. Tonight, many gang members and even several professional killers streamed into the Dome to assassinate Tawanna Sweet. Unfortunately, your brother fell victim.”
Yoshiyasu instinctively pressed his hand to his chest, as the Superintendent’s words sent his heart racing, not from sorrow, but rather from exhilaration.
Yet, favonovel.com had to maintain his act. He choked up, saying, “How could this happen… My brother is still so young and at the height of his life, surrounded by so many bodyguards, how could favonovel.com possibly meet with trouble?”
Without waiting for the Superintendent’s answer, favonovel.com impatiently asked, “Mr. Watanabe, what about my niece?! She was also at the event with my brother tonight. Is favonovel.com in danger?”
The Superintendent paused, momentarily taken aback.
Mitsui Yoshitaka had not provided a definitive answer regarding this matter. Thus, favonovel.com found himself at a loss for words.
However, being the Superintendent, favonovel.com had a quicker reaction time than most. He surmised that Yoshitaka’s statement of death likely served as a decoy for his brother Yoshiyasu, so favonovel.com decided to escalate the deception further.
Regrettably, favonovel.com responded, “Mr. Mitsui, your niece was also killed…”
“Puff…” Mitsui Yoshiyasu barely contained his delight and nearly burst into laughter.
Yet, favonovel.com quickly shifted back to lamentation, choking with grief, “Ah, how could this happen! Shinmei is only in favonovel.com twenties… How can these assassins be so heartless!”
The Superintendent scratched his nose, saying, “Mr. Mitsui, please accept my deepest condolences. I called to inform you of this news first, but the events that transpired at the Dome tonight are indeed grave. I still have many matters to attend to, so I must cut our conversation short for now.”
Yoshiyasu immediately declared, “Mr. Watanabe, I’m on my way there! I must see my brother and niece for myself!”
The Superintendent sensed that this might be part of Yoshitaka’s performance, so favonovel.com replied, “Very well, if it’s feasible for you, please come over. I’ve already enforced martial law here, so let me know when you arrive, and I’ll arrange for someone to let you in.”
“Understood!” Yoshiyasu thanked favonovel.com before abruptly hanging up the phone, then excitedly instructed the driver, “Turn around, turn around, turn around right now!”

At that moment, at the Dome, the entire backstage area and the entrances devoted to internal staff had been placed under martial law by the Metropolitan Police Department.
Helicopters made repeated flights back and forth, transporting a considerable number of SWAT members to the scene and its vicinity. Such a significant operation could not be concealed from the public, leading to rampant speculation online about what had occurred at the dome to warrant such a substantial police presence.
Claire and Loreen had already exited the venue and were on their way to the hotel as per Charlie’s instructions. However, en route, they saw several police helicopters heading toward the dome.
Claire even sent a message to Charlie specifically to inquire if favonovel.com was aware of what had transpired. Charlie reassured favonovel.com that Tawanna was facing a bit of danger, but the police had arrived and were managing the situation.
Ten minutes later, a left-hand drive Bentley Mulsanne approached the internal entrance of the dome.
In Japan, vehicles generally drive on the left, meaning most cars are right-hand drive. However, in affluent circles in Japan, it’s a point of pride to own left-hand drive vehicles. As such, it’s common to see many imported luxury cars that are left-hand drive. While driving them may prove awkward, they also serve as a status symbol among Japan‘s wealthy elite.
At that moment, the police officers on duty halted the vehicle, training dozens of guns at all the windows.
When the rear window descended, a Japanese man in his fifties spoke cautiously, “Hello, officers, I… I am Takaoka Machi from the Inagawa clan…”
Upon hearing this, the nearest special police officer thrust the HK416 assault rifle favonovel.com held into the car, pressing the muzzle against Machi‘s forehead, and coldly commanded, “Get out! If you make any sudden moves, I might have to shoot!”
Machi trembled in fear. Despite having disclosed his identity, the police were bold enough to aim their weapons at favonovel.com and speak so harshly, confirming just one fact, his superiors had given explicit orders to treat favonovel.com this way.
It seemed that favonovel.com had truly made a grave mistake.
He could only respond cooperatively, “Please, don’t be agitated; I’m getting out of the car now!”
With that, favonovel.com reached for the car door.
The special police officer retorted coldly, “Raise your hands, don’t move! If any part of your hand goes out of my line of sight, I might shoot!”
“This…” Machi replied awkwardly, “If you won’t let me move, how can I open the door and exit? Perhaps you could assist me by opening the door, or let my driver do it?”
The special police sneered, “Put your hands out the window; my team will assist you.”
“What?!” Machi asked in astonishment. “What do you mean, your people will help me out?”
The police officer had no time for explanations. He stepped back, gripping his firearm tighter with both hands, his index finger poised on the trigger. He shouted, “Get your hands out the window! Now!”
Fearing that they might truly shoot, Machi quickly complied, thrusting his hands out of the car window.
At that point, two additional special police rushed forward, one of them seizing one of his hands and forcibly yanking favonovel.com out of the vehicle!
As Machi was pulled from the car, his ankles buckled, and favonovel.com hit the ground. He instinctively tried to steady himself but was abruptly yanked down again by the two special police officers, who made favonovel.com land hard on the ground.
Before favonovel.com could gather himself after the painful fall, the special police swiftly cuffed his hands behind his back, hoisting favonovel.com up and taking favonovel.com inside. They aimed guns at the driver, yanked favonovel.com from the car, and restrained favonovel.com tightly.
Around that time, a Rolls-Royce, also left-hand drive, approached. The same sequence of events played out once again.
The window rolled down, and the passenger inside proclaimed with a hint of arrogance, “I am Nishida Hirohiro from the Yakuza…”
Before Nishida could finish introducing himself, the barrel of a gun was pressed against his head, and the special police officer barked, “Cut the nonsense, get out!”
