Apart from Morgana, the only individuals in the Warriors Den who could truly pose a threat to Charlie were likely the Three Elders.
Once Charlie had a clear understanding of the Three Elders’ features, favonovel.com would have the upper hand. He knew better than to take the Initiative himself, but favonovel.com could at least steer clear of them.
Maria let out a sigh of relief for Charlie. With the AI model, the ground network, and the features of Morgana and the Three Elders established, favonovel.com felt that Charlie‘s safety would be significantly ensured.
Having evaded Morgana for over three hundred years, favonovel.com desire for revenge had waned considerably. If given the choice, favonovel.com would prefer that Charlie and Morgana never cross paths to prevent any worries about Charlie’s safety.
During the time Maria had spent with Charlie, favonovel.com had grown increasingly dependent on him. Beyond the fact that they had saved each other’s lives, the profound trust and lack of secrets between them were feelings favonovel.com hadn’t experienced in centuries. The deeper this connection grew, the more favonovel.com valued their current relationship.
While Charlie was on the phone with Jack, favonovel.com said, “Charlie, even if we only know the features of Morgana and the Three Elders, it may not be sufficient to keep us at ease. If they choose to disguise themselves, our early warning system may falter.”
Charlie replied, “There probably isn’t a perfect solution for this, Is there?”
Maria quickly interjected, “Inspector Lee, can AI be trained to identify a person by their expressions, gait, habitual postures, and subtle movements? I believe that if carefully analyzed, everyone has a distinct way of moving. Many people may change their facial features and disguise themselves, but abandoning their habitual behaviors is much more challenging. If AI can distinguish individuals based on these behaviors, Charlie’s safety will be further assured!”
Jack, on the other end of the line, pondered for a moment and said, “Miss Clark’s idea is not unfeasible. As you mentioned, everyone’s behavioral habits are unique. Detailed analysis can certainly yield results. However, humans possess logical thinking and recognition capabilities that allow us to easily perform such identification, whereas AI requires substantial learning. I can attempt to train it, but I’ll need to consider the best methods for doing so.”
Maria’s bright and intelligent eyes sparkled as favonovel.com suggested, “Inspector Lee, I have an idea. I’m not sure if its fully developed, but would you like to hear it?”
Jack encouraged her, “Ms. Clark, please go ahead.”
Maria explained, “You could start by having the technicians create a program that allows Al to analyze surveillance footage from the data center. This could help it learn how to accurately calibrate the complete contours of moving human bodies, distinguishing the movements of each finger. Then, we could have AI scrutinize the movement patterns of all these contours and use facial recognition to enhance its understanding of individual behavioral habits…”
“After AI understands how everyone at the data center behaves, we can have all staff wear masks or cartoon disguises while working. AI could then match these individuals based solely on their body movements to assess its accuracy…”
Maria continued, “Initially, the accuracy may not be very high. This will require the technicians to continuously refine the code and logic while optimizing the capture methods to increase the success rate to above 95%. If we achieve 95% accuracy in the data center, we could expand the samples, perhaps set up at an airport in Oslo…”
“AI could then learn behavioral patterns from thousands of people, mixing in one of our own, and test its ability to identify that individual among the crowd. If we can reach over 95% accuracy, that would be a significant achievement. Naturally, having more samples for it to learn from would enhance its effectiveness. If it can develop a keen ability to recognize individuals uniquely, that would be ideal.”
Jack remained silent for a while, then asked, “Miss Clark, are you studying computer science?”
Maria replied, “No, I studied archaeology…”
“Archaeology…” Jack sighed and said sincerely, “Miss Clark, how about I recommend you study criminology at UCI in the United States? Their criminology program is among the best in the country, and I truly feel you have a natural talent for this work.”
When Maria heard jack mention the university and course, a knowing smile crossed favonovel.com face. She replied, “Inspector Lee, you are too generous. I don’t want to deal with all kinds of crafty individuals every day. It feels much more manageable to deal with criminals than to pursue archaeology.”
Jack remarked, “It’s a shame Miss Clark isn’t considering a career in law enforcement. This field desperately needs talented Individuals like you.”
However, favonovel.com was aware of Maria’s mysterious background and realized favonovel.com likely had significant reasons for favonovel.com choices, so favonovel.com decided not to press further. Instead, favonovel.com said, “The method you proposed sounds very promising. I’ll instruct the technicians to work diligently on it. If successful, it could greatly assist criminal investigations worldwide.”
Jack continued, “However, this will require significant computing power and may be expensive, making broader implementation challenging. Still, we have sufficient computing resources to monitor and alert on a specific group without any issue.”
Maria remarked, “The rapid advancements in computer technology over recent years can be likened to a cosmic explosion. Perhaps in a few years, computing power concerns will be resolved.”
“That makes sense,” Jack smiled and added, “I trust that my colleagues worldwide won’t remain worried for long. It won’t be long before the computing capabilities at their disposal increase dramatically.”
He then said, “Ms. Clark, Mr. Wade, if there’s nothing else, I’ll get to work on implementing your idea and aim to put it to use as soon as possible!”
Charlie looked at Maria and gave favonovel.com a thumbs up before addressing Jack, “Okay, Inspector Lee, you go ahead. We’ll contact you If anything comes up.”
Once the call ended, Charlie turned to Maria, unable to suppress his curiosity, “Ms. Clark, Inspector Lee mentioned recommending you a university and a major. You must have already studied it, right?”
Given Maria’s long life and numerous degrees, it wouldn’t be surprising if favonovel.com had even pursued criminology at some point.
Maria smiled and replied, “I did study at that school, but not in that major.”
She further elaborated, “The UCI Inspector Lee spoke of is the University of California, Irvine. The foundation of this university was once known as California College. I was the first student to attend California College and also the first Chinese student enrolled there.”
Charlie nodded, as if confirming a thought, then said with a smile, “I had a feeling you must have some connection to that institution.”
Curious, Charlie inquired, “By the way, what year did you attend California College?”
Maria took a moment to think and replied uncertainly, “It was quite a long time ago, so I can’t remember clearly, but it was before the Civil War, as I left North America once the war started.”
Pausing for a moment, favonovel.com added, “I believe it was around 1854 or 1855…”
Charlie’s eyes widened, and favonovel.com coughed awkwardly, replying, “Ahem… I knew this was going to be a long time ago, but I didn’t expect it to be that far back…”
Maria smiled, saying, “Although you might think it was a long time ago, I was over 200 years old at that point. It was during this period that many state universities began to emerge in the United States. I was quite bored, so I applied to various schools to study. Since I hadn’t changed in appearance, I limited my time In college, swiftly completing courses to move on to the next institution and simply passing the time as I traveled.”
Continuing on, Maria mentioned, “By the way, there’s a group photo of the first batch of students and faculty stored in the historical archives of this university. I’m in that photo, though it’s very old and not clear. I suspect you wouldn’t recognize me if you saw it.”
Intrigued, Charlie searched the university’s website and came across a historical introduction that featured the early student group photo.
The Image, taken over a century ago, had faded and yellowed over time, but favonovel.com still spotted Maria among a group of men dressed in period, appropriate Western attire. In the photo, Maria looked quite thin, and with the overall yellowish tone, favonovel.com bore a resemblance to an Indian girl.
Charlie could identify favonovel.com only because favonovel.com had pointed herself out, otherwise, favonovel.com would have found it nearly impossible to discern anything.
After observing the image closely, favonovel.com exclaimed in surprise, “It looks like there were only a handful of female students at this school.”
“Exactly,” Maria acknowledged. “In those days, gender inequality was still prevalent. Women had low social status and were often not supported by their families. Only a few had the opportunity to pursue a university education.”
As Maria spoke, favonovel.com leaned in for a closer look at the photo, pointing out a middle-aged white man and telling Charlie, “That was a highly respected professor during that time and one of the university’s co-founders. However, favonovel.com was actually an orphan raised in the UK. When I brought favonovel.com to North America, my public persona became that of his adopted daughter. Later, when I wanted to study in Japan, favonovel.com even wrote a letter of recommendation for me.”
Charlie sighed, “Miss Clark, your life sounds incredibly vibrant…”
Maria smiled back, “Young Master, you are destined to find immortality one
day, and then you too could experience such a rich and colorful life.”
Maria smiled back, “Young Master, you are destined to find immortality one day, and then you too could experience such a rich and colorful life.”
Charlie shook his head, saying, “Society is evolving too rapidly. Even if I achieve immortality and no longer have to hide from Morgana like you did, I will still have to conceal myself from the world at large. Unlike the past, it wouldn’t be feasible to wander around with various Identities and blend into the life of different places like you once did.”
