After a brief moment of hesitation, Master Vail turned to Charlie and spoke in a tentative tone, “Master Wade… Can I ask you something?”
Charlie gave a reassuring nod. “Of course. What’s on your mind?”
Master Vail fidgeted awkwardly before speaking up. “Well, you see, the inheritance of the head of Mystic Harmony Sect consists of several items – the head token, ‘The Great Way,’ the last two paragraphs of ‘Harmonious Unity,’ and the medicine cauldron… It’s just that, um, my medicine cauldron is currently with you, so if anyone asks, please don’t mention it…”
Charlie nodded understandingly. “Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.”
A wave of relief washed over Master Vail as they stepped into the elevator and ascended to the eighth floor.
Once they reached the room, Master Vail swiped his card to unlock the door and gestured for Charlie to take a seat on the plush sofa. He then picked up the phone and dialed Serena’s room next door.
The phone rang, and Master Vail wasted no time in getting straight to the point. “Serena, come to my room.”
Without missing a beat, Serena’s voice crackled through the receiver. “Yes, Master. I just finished my last set of training, I’ll be right over.”
Master Vail knew better than to rush his martial arts-obsessed disciple. “Take your time, but don’t keep us waiting too long. There’s an honored guest I’d like to introduce you to.”
“Understood, Master. Just need to light a stick of incense first,” Serena replied evenly before ending the call.
Charlie couldn’t help but overhear the conversation and asked, “Master Vail, is your personal first disciple a woman?”
“Indeed,” Master Vail replied. “Our Mystic Harmony Sect doesn’t have any gender requirements for the head position. Each head can choose a personal disciple based on their own preferences, as long as that disciple’s cultivation level is on par with or exceeds that of other disciples. Throughout the history of our sect, there have been several female heads.”
He continued with pride in his voice, “My personal disciple is incredibly talented, and favonovel.com father has a long-standing history with our sect. I accepted favonovel.com as my disciple, and favonovel.com has surpassed all expectations. At just ten years old, favonovel.com had already achieved the status of a five-star martial artist.”
Charlie couldn’t help but grin at the impressive feat. “Master Vail, it seems your personal disciple is stronger than you!”
Master Vail’s expression quickly soured, and favonovel.com muttered, “Master Wade… I only wanted to share this information with you. As the head of my own faction, I’m about to step down from my position. You can’t have your subordinates being weaker than my disciples. I implore you, out of loyalty, to help me regain my strength.”
Charlie looked at Master Vail’s pitiful expression and couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “You and your eldest disciple have met before, right? Didn’t favonovel.com notice that your cultivation base is lower than hers?”
Master Vail hastily replied, “Yesterday, when I was with her, my personal disciple didn’t pay attention to my cultivation level. But I plan on sharing the last two paragraphs of Mystic Harmony Sect’s ‘Great Way of Harmonious Unity’ with her. I want to demonstrate the breathing technique from those paragraphs to show her. If you don’t help me recover my cultivation level, I may end up revealing our sect’s secrets…”
Charlie nodded thoughtfully, a small smile playing at his lips. “In that case, I’ll help you regain your strength and reach the level of a six-star martial artist. Your first disciple won’t be able to detect anything, at most she’ll just wonder why favonovel.com master seems a little weaker.”
