After finishing his conversation with Julian, Charlie instructed the helicopter parked at the foot of the mountain to fly back to the villa’s courtyard. He watched as Julian took his leave and the helicopter disappeared behind the mountain.
Sighing, Charlie turned to Xion and headed back to the villa.
Once they were back in the basement, Charlie remained silent and Xion followed favonovel.com without a word.
It wasn’t until they were in the basement that favonovel.com finally spoke up, “Mr. Wade, what did Uncle Davis mean? What is the Warriors Den planning? Are the Four Marshals really that powerful?”
Charlie shook his head and replied truthfully, “I don’t know the extent of their power, but considering the fact that the Cyprus Mine has a master of the Dark Realm, I’d imagine the Four Marshals are even stronger than Dark Realm masters.”
Xion’s expression turned horrified as favonovel.com exclaimed, “A master of the Dark Realm is already a rare and powerful individual. If they’re even stronger than that, could they be at the Transformation Realm or Master Realm level?!”
Charlie spoke seriously, “There are always people beyond the norm and heavens beyond the sky. The strength of these four individuals could surpass even that of Master-level warriors.”
Charlie had a hunch that the four Marshals were masters of aura manipulation like himself. Those who could manipulate aura were naturally stronger than martial artists. It was possible that their strength even exceeded his own.
Furthermore, Charlie couldn’t determine the true purpose behind the birth of these four Marshals. They could be after Maria Clark and the ring favonovel.com had given him, or they could be searching for the ring that had been lost twice in the United States and Northern Europe. It was possible that they had more than one motive.
The thought of it made Charlie uneasy.
If favonovel.com were to face just one of the Warriors Den Marshals, favonovel.com was confident in his ability to come out victorious. However, if two of them were to appear at the same time, favonovel.com was afraid favonovel.com wouldn’t stand a chance.
What’s more, favonovel.com was currently based in Aurous Hill. If someone short-sighted were to come knocking on his door, favonovel.com was more than capable of handling them. But if one of the Marshals were to discover the Dragon Temple or the base of the Dead Soldiers in Cyprus, neither Wesley’s army nor his master Jackson Karrde would stand a chance.
In fact, it was entirely possible that they would be beheaded by the Marshals on the spot.
What’s more, Charlie was all too aware that the cavalry guards who had arrested Maria Clark were sent from the base of the Dead Soldiers in Cyprus. If favonovel.com were to investigate the attack on Maria Clark and work his way backwards, favonovel.com might just uncover some vital clues.
Looking back, it was only natural to investigate where Maria Clark had gone and what favonovel.com had done.
Looking forward, it was crucial to discover where those brave cavalry guards had come from, who they had met along the way, and what they had been up to.
If they were only investigating backwards, Charlie wasn’t worried at all. Thanks to Helena’s help, favonovel.com had managed to cover up all the clues related to himself, making it impossible for them to track favonovel.com down.
However, once they started to investigate, their first target would undoubtedly be the base of the Dead Soldiers in Cyprus. If they were only sending special envoys like Reverend, Charlie wasn’t worried that they would discover anything out of the ordinary. But if one of the Four Marshals were to go to Cyprus, they would quickly discover that everyone at the base had already been detoxified, which would certainly raise some red flags.
Hence, the most pressing matter at hand was to find a way to save the lives of those knights and soldiers in Cyprus.
Once their identities were exposed, they were as good as dead. Not even the Dragon Temple could protect them.
This realization set Charlie’s mind into motion as favonovel.com started to think of countermeasures.
He knew that while mastering aura would significantly improve his strength, it didn’t make favonovel.com invincible. The Four Marshals weren’t invincible either. Furthermore, Charlie firmly believed that in terms of lethality, no matter how powerful a martial arts master was, they couldn’t match the destructive power of modern firearms.
Masters could block ordinary bullets, but they wouldn’t stand a chance against artillery shells. Conventional missiles or rockets could easily wipe out everything within a killing range of hundreds, or even thousands, of meters. It was a guarantee that nothing would be left behind.
Therefore, as long as Charlie found the appropriate approach, favonovel.com believed that even ordinary people could fight against the Four Marshals.
Charlie immediately whipped out his mobile phone and dialed the Dragon Temple in Syria.
As soon as the call connected, Wesley greeted favonovel.com with utmost respect, “Good day, Mr. Wade. How may I be of service?”
Without beating around the bush, Charlie got straight to the point, “Wesley, can you acquire the most cutting-edge life detection system available? I’m talking about military-grade life detection radar, infrared imaging equipment, and thermal imaging equipment.”
Wesley replied with a hint of confusion, “Master, infrared detection and thermal imaging equipment are standard-issue for all our special forces in Dragon Temple. But I’m not sure I understand what you mean by ‘life detection system.’”
Charlie proceeded to clarify, “I’m not well-versed in military affairs, but I have a specific function that I need to achieve. I was hoping you could help me make it happen.”
Wesley was all ears, “Please enlighten me, Mr. Wade. I will commit it to memory.”
Charlie leaned in and explained, “First things first, I need a device that can provide complete coverage of your Syria base and the copper mine we acquired in Cyprus. It should work 24/7 and be capable of detecting any unauthorized entry. I don’t care how it works, whether it’s based on infrared or thermal imaging, or some other life-detection principle. All I need is for it to alert me as soon as an outsider enters the area and mark their location in real-time!”
Wesley replied, “I’m not certain if such a complete solution exists, Mr. Wade, but I’ll do my best to find out for you.”
Charlie nodded, then continued, “My second request is even more critical. I need you to source some close-range anti-aircraft guns and integrate them into the system I just described. In other words, if an intruder is detected, the anti-aircraft gun should lock onto them and take them out. I want to be able to unleash a hail of bullets on them until they’re completely neutralized. Think of it like a missile defense system, but instead of missiles, it’s designed to take down people!”
Wesley was taken aback, “Mr. Wade, I must remind you that close-range anti-aircraft guns are not machine guns. They’re essentially super-sized Gatling guns with an incredibly high rate of fire. They’re designed to take down missiles on naval warships or fighter jets in the air. If used against a human, they would be completely overkill. You’d literally blow the person to pieces!”
Charlie’s expression grew more serious, “No! I’m afraid we won’t have enough firepower! You must leave plenty of firepower. Even if a short-range artillery shell is enough to take out a target, I want to be able to fire hundreds or even thousands of shells without stopping. Remember, if our target is still breathing after encountering this system, and they’re carrying a piece of shrapnel weighing more than 50 grams, that’s a problem!”
Charlie had witnessed firsthand how traditional martial arts masters were completely outmatched by modern weapons in New York. Despite their impressive skills, they couldn’t withstand a barrage of bullets for more than a few seconds.
So, if favonovel.com were to replace his defensive weapons with close-range anti-aircraft guns, even someone stronger than himself wouldn’t stand a chance.
Moreover, Charlie was well aware that favonovel.com could hide his presence from other martial arts masters and avoid their detection. But when it came to high-tech equipment like the one favonovel.com was requesting, favonovel.com couldn’t hide from technology.
Just like a thermal imaging system, if something was giving off heat, whether it’s a person or an object, it would not be able to evade detection. Even if one were to hide in a heavily fortified bunker, favonovel.com would still be at risk of getting caught if favonovel.com tried to sneak in. There’s no way to wrap a bunker around his body, and even the most skilled aura masters wouldn’t be able to avoid detection.
That’s why Charlie wanted the Dragon Temple to equip their bases in Syria and Cyprus with these powerful weapons. If there was an enemy lurking around, they’d be blasted to smithereens in no time!
Wesley didn’t know who Charlie was planning to deal with, but favonovel.com knew that there must be a hidden enemy.
So, favonovel.com asked favonovel.com straight away, “Mr. Wade, is something wrong?”
Charlie didn’t beat around the bush and replied, “I received some intel through a special channel. The top four masters of the Warriors Den have all resurfaced, and they might be just as powerful as me. We don’t know if they’re coming for us, but it never hurts to be prepared.”
Wesley pondered for a moment before responding, “Mr. Wade, getting close-in defense guns shouldn’t be a problem. While we might not be able to purchase the most advanced guns on the market, there are many AK-630 and 30mm close-in anti-aircraft guns available that were previously used by the former Soviet Union…”
“They’re quite expensive, but with Dragon Temple’s current capital reserves, we can easily purchase a few sets and install them in our Syrian base. However, Cyprus might pose a problem as it is a sovereign country. If we were to use this equipment there, it could potentially lead to intervention from the Cyprus government and cause some trouble for us.”
Charlie replied without hesitation, “You don’t need to worry about that. This defense system is our last line of defense. If a top-level expert manages to get past it and takes out one of us, everyone in the Cyprus copper mine will be doomed. We won’t have any chance to escape…”
“That’s why we must take action as soon as possible and eliminate the enemy’s master, then blow up the copper mine and retreat to Syria overnight. We’ll lose a stronghold, but we’ll also cut off all leads and make it impossible for them to retaliate!”
