Julian’s question was one that even Charlie couldn’t answer.
He couldn’t fathom why the Warriors Den had invested so much time and energy into targeting his grandmother’s family, going so far as to plant a bomb that would lie dormant for two decades. If it was simply greed for the Evans family’s wealth, that explanation didn’t hold water.
The Warriors Den was a powerful organization with access to resources far beyond what the Evans Family could offer. They controlled a vast army of soldiers, cavalry guards, special envoys and commissioners. Even for the shadow masters of the Warriors Den, making money was a trivial matter, they had no need to fixate on the Evans family.
This could only mean that the Warriors Den had other plans for the Evans family. But what those plans were, Charlie had no idea.
“I’m sorry, Julian,” Charlie said with a sigh, “As to why the Warriors Den has been targeting the Evans family, I really can’t say. It seems unreasonable to suggest it’s about money and it’s unlikely that they’re doing it out of spite for my parents – after all, with their resources, they wouldn’t need to wait so long to exact revenge.”
“You could be onto something there,” Julian mused, “Perhaps the Warriors Den is after something very specific from the Evans family.”
Charlie shook his head, “I can’t imagine what that could be. There are no warriors among the Evans family members and they don’t possess any special martial arts techniques or elixirs.”
Julian nodded in agreement, “You’re right. This is a puzzle that only the higher-ups in the organization can solve.”
Charlie’s curiosity piqued, “Uncle, what other information did my father share with you before the accident?”
Julian paused before responding, “In the email favonovel.com sent me, aside from mentioning the Warriors Den, your father also revealed that my parents were likely part of the Warriors Den and were Masters of the highest realm.”
Charlie blurted out, “The Warriors Camp!”
Julian’s expression turned to one of shock, “You know about the Warriors Camp too?”
Charlie replied nonchalantly, “Only eight-star warriors have the chance to join the Warriors Camp. Once you become a member, you can attain mastery in the dark realm within a decade, right?”
Julian nodded, looking at Charlie with surprise and said, “It seems your knowledge of the Warriors Den is as extensive as mine. The most I know about the Warriors Den is their Warriors Camp.”
Charlie was curious, “Uncle, how do you know all this? Did you manage to make contact with your parents?”
Julian answered, “Yes, my parents are part of the Warriors Den. They’re both members of the Warriors Camp.”
Charlie had already suspected that his father knew about the Warriors Camp, so favonovel.com let out a resigned sigh, “It seems like no warrior can resist the temptation of mastering the dark realm.”
He then turned to Julian and asked, “Did my father tell you about the Warriors Camp?”
Julian nodded, “Yes, favonovel.com mentioned it in the email favonovel.com sent me. He said that someone had spotted a male martial artist named Davis and a female martial artist named Athens in the Warriors Camp, who happened to share the same surnames as my parents. He believed that they might be my parents.”
Julian continued, “It was because of this that I decided to become a TV host. I hoped that my parents would notice me one day and reach out to me.”
Charlie was eager to know if Julian had succeeded, “Did they reach out to you?”
Julian smiled and said, “Yes, I managed to establish contact with my parents almost a decade ago.”
Charlie was astonished, “The internal structure of the Warriors Den is very strict and the management is also very strict, how did you manage to get in touch with your parents?”
Julian chuckled and replied, “I don’t mean to brag, but I had a high IQ when I was young and was considered a prodigy among my peers. I used to play a game with my dad where we would make up different codes and hide them in texts. He would give me simple rules to follow, such as using an acrostic poem or taking the first word of each sentence as the hidden message and then we would decipher it. But I found these codes too easy to crack…”
“He gradually increased the difficulty level from 1212 to 1234 or 4321. For example, using the second word of the second sentence, the third word of the third sentence and the fourth word of the fourth sentence as the password, because the password only has four digits. I then used my birthday, May 13th, as the password and added 1234 to it. Therefore, the password became 1747.”
Julian continued, “I started to use this password in my blog posts and added the phrase ‘I miss you very much, please contact me’ using this code. I was a popular blogger at the time and my blog had a lot of views. I believe that no one in the world except my father could decipher it.”
Charlie couldn’t resist giving Julian a thumbs up and said, “You and your father have a secret language, huh? You’re practically a household name if your dad is still alive and browses the internet, he’s bound to keep tabs on you, which means he’ll definitely see your blog and the content you’ve posted. I have to admit, that’s a pretty smart move!”
Julian flashed a modest smile and favonovel.com replied, “It’s not about being flashy, it’s about being useful.”
Then, Julian went on to share a story, “Ten years ago, on May 13th, my birthday, I received a private message from a stranger. The message itself was nothing out of the ordinary…”
“They wrote, ‘I really enjoy reading your blog. You’re an incredibly talented writer and I hope you keep at it.’ I get dozens, even hundreds of messages like that every day. But this one was different. If you entered the password ‘1747’ into the message, it unlocked a hidden message ‘We miss you so much too’…”
