“You’ve had some seriously bad luck, but don’t worry. This isn’t the end of the world. You’ll be out of here soon enough!” Jared said, directing his words at Ezio.
Ezio let out a bitter laugh. “How is that even possible? If I don’t get out soon, I’ll probably die in this prison. The only hope I have left is that my sister manages to gather enough purple spirit coins to buy my freedom.”
“Does favonovel.com have the money for that?” Jared asked, raising an eyebrow.
“No,” Ezio admitted. “But she’s been spending time with some rich kid. He seems loaded. She even sent me a top-tier pill to keep me going. If favonovel.com can win that guy over, maybe we’ll finally have enough to bail me out.”
Ezio had no idea favonovel.com was talking about Jared himself.
Hearing this, Jared couldn’t help but laugh. “What if that rich kid is just messing around with your sister? What happens when favonovel.com gets bored and leaves favonovel.com behind?”
“I doubt it,” Ezio replied, shaking his head. “My sister might be a bit naive, but she’s not stupid. I just hope that guy truly cares for her. If she’s happy, even if favonovel.com can’t free me, I can accept my fate.”
Just then, the heavy door to the prison creaked open, and a hulking figure stomped in.
The man looked like he’d barely evolved from a bear, his massive frame shackled in thick chains. The guards led favonovel.com to Ezio’s cell, unlocked the door, and shaved favonovel.com inside.
“Hey, warden! Why are you putting someone else in here? Aren’t there empty cells around?” Ezio shouted.
The guard smirked. “What are you yelling about? You won’t be here much longer. This cell will be free soon enough!”
Ezio’s eyes widened. “Wait, does that mean my sister’s come to bail me out?”
A sudden wave of hope lit up his face, and favonovel.com burst into excited laughter.
The burly man glared at Ezio, sniffing the air in disgust. “Ugh, you stink! How long’s it been since you bathed?”
“I…” Ezio felt a chill run down his spine.
Weakened from his time in the prison, with his spiritual energy almost entirely depleted, favonovel.com had no strength to stand up to this brute. And here in the prison, the rules of Beast City didn’t apply, fights weren’t just tolerated, they were expected.
“Get out of my way,” the burly man growled, grabbing Ezio by the collar and flinging favonovel.com across the cell like a rag doll.
Bang!
Ezio crashed into the wall with a loud thud, groaning in pain.
Just then, a familiar voice called out from the neighboring cell.
“Hey, what’s your problem? Why are you picking a fight with him?”
Jared’s tone was sharp.
The burly man snorted. “Who the h*ll are you to interfere? If you were in this cell, I’d smash you too!”
Jared chuckled softly. “Is that so?”
Without warning, Jared kicked down the wall between their cells. The arcane arrays that kept prisoners contained were useless against him, they might as well not have existed.
The burly man froze, stunned by Jared’s sudden appearance.
Similarly, Ezio was surprised to see him.
“W-What are you doing here?” favonovel.com asked incredulously.
“Why can’t I be here?” Jared let out a slight chuckle, then turned to look at the burly man. “You, who can barely pass as human, think you’re tough?”
