“Don’t kill me, don’t kill me! As long as you spare my life, I can give you all of Sky Slasher Sect’s resources!” Ventus pleaded in panic as the enraged alchemists threatened to poison him.
“Who are you trying to fool? We’ve searched this island inside and out multiple times and found nothing.”
“Even your main hall is completely empty. Where are these resources you’re talking about?” Wyatt coldly responded.
“There are, I swear! They’re just hidden with a formation. You couldn’t find them!” Ventus hurriedly explained. “Our Sky Slasher Sect has been here for a thousand years. How could we not have resources?”
Hearing this, the group started to believe Ventus. After all, the Sky Slasher Sect had been on the island for a long time. Moreover, Wyatt and the alchemists led the search, while Jared and Carlo were busy setting up formations. If the resources were concealed with a cloaking formation, it was likely that Wyatt and the others wouldn’t have discovered them.
“Take us there. But if you try any tricks, you’ll suffer a horrible death.” Jared instructed Ventus to lead them to Sky Slasher Sect’s hidden resources.
“I wouldn’t dare!” Ventus hastily replied.
With the group escorting him, Ventus led them to Sky Slasher Sect’s main hall.
The main hall wasn’t particularly luxurious, given the island’s isolation from the mainland. They relied on self-sufficiency for all the materials. Even so, the hall was quite impressive under the circumstances.
Upon entering, Jared immediately sensed the fluctuation of a formation, there really was one here.
Ventus began muttering incantations, and with a wave of his hand, a previously solid wall revealed a hidden door!
Surrounding the door were several layers of restrictions.
One by one, Ventus disabled the restrictions, and with the final restriction undone, the door slowly creaked open.
As the door opened, many of the alchemists rushed forward, eager to claim some of the hidden resources. After all, those who rushed in first had the chance to grab more resources!
“Stop right there! No one moves until Mr. Chance goes in first! We owe our lives to Mr. Chance and the Duad Formation Sect. Even if there are resources, it’s only right they claim them first!” Wyatt shouted, causing the eager alchemists to halt in their tracks, embarrassment flashing across their faces as they retreated.
Jared entered the room, with Carlo and the others following closely behind.
Inside, they discovered an enormous stockpile of beast cores, as well as many mystical herbs and spiritual stones.
The massive room was packed to the brim, a clear indication that Sky Slasher Sect had been amassing resources on this barren island for many years. However, in the center of the room stood a three-meter-tall statue, completely out of place among the piles of resources.
Jared couldn’t understand why this statue was hidden here instead of being displayed in the main hall.
“What’s the deal with this statue?” Jared asked Ventus.
“It’s said to be our first sect leader, but I’m not too sure. The statue was already here when I took over Sky Slasher Sect,” Ventus answered truthfully.
“President Chance, take some men and move these resources out. Distribute them among everyone and make sure to heal the injured,” Jared instructed.
“Mr. Chance, you’ve done the most. These resources should be yours first,” Wyatt replied, feeling embarrassed.
“No need for formalities, President Chance. Just do as I say,” Jared insisted.
Wyatt nodded in agreement. He then organized the group to clear out the resources and begin distributing them.
Meanwhile, Jared remained in the room, still studying the three-meter-tall statue with Ventus beside him.
