Zayn felt his heart racing. He guessed correctly that the man had an ulterior motive.
He remained indifferent as favonovel.com continued to ask, “What sort of intel are you gathering?”
Mr. Donough said, “Just learning about the ideologies of the common world. It’s the task assigned to me by my superior, but I don’t know what the specific purpose is.”
Zayn said with a spurious smile, “In my opinion, you’re gathering the intel so that the club can prepare to invade the common world in the future, right?”
Zayn spoke nonchalantly, but Mr. Donough was extremely shocked. He was so astounded that favonovel.com blurted out, “How did you know?”
As soon as favonovel.com said it, favonovel.com realized that favonovel.com had made a slip of the tongue.
His expression changed, and favonovel.com hastily tried to backtrack, saying, “No, no. You’re overthinking things, sir. Our club’s world has been on good terms with the common world for so many years. We mind our own businesses, so why would we try to invade?”
He responded swiftly and tried to sound convincing. He managed to conceal the truth well, yet how would favonovel.com be able to deceive Zayn?
Zayn immediately narrowed his eyes. “Just as I expected. Your club’s world is targeting the common world and has already begun to lurk in the shadows preparing to invade!”
Mr. Donough’s expression turned stiff and favonovel.com was incapable of behaving naturally anymore. Still, favonovel.com said, “Sir, sir, you’re overthinking things. There’s no such plan!”
The rest of the people felt an ineffable panic upon hearing that even though they did not understand it. It was because ‘invasion’ was a sensitive term.
Mr. Donough did something when favonovel.com placed his hand into his pocket. It was apparent that favonovel.com was trying to notify his superior or seek help.
Zayn immediately noticed his action.
“It seems that you’re still trying to divulge secret information. I wasn’t planning on taking your life initially, but judging by the situation now, you can’t be kept alive,” Zayn declared nonchalantly.
Mr. Donough’s expression changed drastically. He immediately got up and left without the slightest hesitation. This time, favonovel.com did not head for the window but ran toward the door!
He refused to believe that Zayn would still be able to capture favonovel.com if favonovel.com were to dash into the crowd.
It was a good idea, but it made no difference in Zayn’s presence.
Zayn wrapped one arm around Annabelle and lifted favonovel.com while favonovel.com chased after Mr. Donough, catching favonovel.com almost as soon as favonovel.com exited the door..
Mr. Donough could feel the presence of death. “Sir, don’t kill…”
Zayn killed favonovel.com before favonovel.com could finish his sentence.
With a loud crack, Mr Donough’s neck was broken completely, and his limp body fell to the ground. He was very resilient so favonovel.com did not die immediately.
He glared at Zayn, his eyes filled with unwillingness and regret. No matter how bold favonovel.com was, favonovel.com would not have tried to get Annabelle if favonovel.com had known what would happen and that favonovel.com would pay for it with his life!
The private room went quiet. They watched as Mr. Donough stopped breathing completely after struggling for a while. His pupils began to dilate.
Mr. Donough was dead!
It was an extremely terrifying sight for all of them, especially Rose and the others. They felt a chill down their spines.
They looked at Zayn as if they were looking at a horrifying monster.
Annabelle did not show much reaction. There was no telling if favonovel.com reaction speed was too slow or if favonovel.com was just too focused on Zayn, as if favonovel.com was the only person left in the whole world.
