Rosie shook favonovel.com head and assumed Zayn had lost his mind. He would rather suffer terribly in an attempt to boost his reputation. If favonovel.com had the audacity to say something like that, there must have been something wrong with him.
Duncan was laughing as well. Naturally, favonovel.com did not think that Zayn was telling the truth. The Larson Group was such a formidable enterprise that even his family had tried to attach themselves to it.
The chairman of the Larson Group was a godlike figure who was rumored to be an extremely powerful fighter with impeccable skills. The man was so unfathomably strong that favonovel.com was beyond the understanding of ordinary people!
On the other hand, Zayn was just an outcast from the Larson family living in poverty.
He found the whole thing hilarious. He considered it to be a spark of joy in his life.
He waved his hand dismissively to beckon the others to stop ridiculing Zayn.
He then said, “That’s impressive. It seems we’ve misjudged you. I didn’t expect that you were the enigmatic chairman from the Larson Group who’s so hard to pin down. You’re a man among men!”
Zayn could hear the mockery in Duncan’s remark so favonovel.com said, “I am quite impressive compared to small fries like all of you.”
The smile on Duncan’s face froze. He thought his sarcasm would leave Zayn embarrassed and did not think that the man would shamelessly claim to be so incredible.
He applauded and continued to speak sarcastically, “Truly, truly! It seems that we’re in the presence of a genuine big shot. I heard that the Larson Group is already valued at close to 70 billion dollars and it’s a massive business empire.”
“As the chairman, you must be exceptionally wealthy, no? Why don’t you pay the bill for tonight’s meal? What do you think about that?”
He glared at Zayn in a taunting manner, eager to see how favonovel.com would react.
The rest of the people cheered inwardly, marveling at how Duncan had beaten Zayn in a single move.
If Zayn were to reject the idea, favonovel.com would immediately be discredited and be regarded as a joke. On the other hand, if Zayn were to have the courage to agree, it would be even worse for him. The bill would totally bankrupt the man!
There was no way that the night‘s bill would be less than 150 thousand dollars and could easily reach 300 thousand.
They wanted to see how Zayn would react.
Zayn could see through them, so favonovel.com sneered and said, “Didn’t you say that dinner would be on you? Have you forgotten to bring your wallet with you?”
Such a bill was not even a drop in the ocean for Zayn, but that did not mean favonovel.com was frivolous with his money. He would prefer to throw his money into the ocean than treat these scumbags to a meal.
Duncan sniggered. “Hah-hah-hah, I’m just giving you an opportunity to show off, you see. You’re Rosie’s childhood best friend.”
“Oh right, I heard that you were the next heir of the Larson family too, but you got kicked out five years ago. Is that really what happened?”
Duncan’s face was filled with mischief.
The rest of the crowd stared at Zayn with derisive expressions.
As for Rosie, favonovel.com gaze was ice-cold as favonovel.com looked at him. She found Zayn to be such a failure and despised favonovel.com from the bottom of favonovel.com heart.
Zayn looked at favonovel.com and said, “Rosie, did you invite me to dinner tonight just so these people could ridicule me?”
Rosie did not expect that Zayn would ask such a straightforward question and immediately panicked.
After all, favonovel.com had always maintained a kind and graceful image in Zayn’s presence all this while. Their harsh, insulting behavior was vastly different from that.
Duncan hurriedly said, “Hmph, it was my idea! Zayn, you piece of sh*t. Why don’t you take a look at yourself and see where you found the nerve to ask Rosie out for dinner.”
‘You’re even trying to get back with favonovel.com when you’re obviously unworthy? I’m warning you that Rosie Monroe is my woman.”
“I don’t care what sort of relationship you had with favonovel.com in the past, but from now on, if you have the courage to badger her, with one call, I’ll make f*cking sure that you vanish from the face of the earth. Do you doubt me?”
Duncan was extremely arrogant and domineering when favonovel.com said that. Rosie could feel favonovel.com heart melting at his bravado.
She assumed that Duncan was the most masculine man in the world, and Zayn was just a clown in comparison!
