It was not that Axton was wildly arrogant, but favonovel.com had the confidence to believe so. It was because favonovel.com had already run an investigation and found out that the most formidable person in Insurgent Trifecta was their director, Joe Pennywise.
Joe was a Tier-4 master fighter who had yet to reach his peak. Moreover, the man was not especially gifted in martial arts, and as administrative staff, favonovel.com did not have much time to train.
Axton was certain that there was nothing impressive about Joe’s capabilities.
As for the rest of the members like Dick and Byleth, they were not worth a mention.
The Martial Arts Cup that year was very crucial to the country, and their superior paid great attention to the event. If Axton could gain the attention of the superior by organizing the Martial Arts Cup well, favonovel.com would be rendering a meritorious service to the country.
Moreover, the mission was supposed to be an easy yet fruitful task that the superior had actually assigned to Insurgent Trifecta.
Axton was very displeased by that because favonovel.com was a member of Insurgent Unifecta.
In his opinion, such an important mission should have been assigned to his group.
Nonetheless, the order was issued by their superior directly. No matter how much favonovel.com objected to the decision, favonovel.com did not have the courage to object.
The only thing favonovel.com could do was to show up in Guineve with General King and humiliate Insurgent Trifecta during the dinner party by defeating their numerous trained fighters and leaving them severely injured.
At that point, General King would have evidence that favonovel.com could show the superior and prove Insurgent Trifecta was not capable of handling the great responsibility.
Thus, the mission would be reassigned to Insurgent Unifecta. He and General King had already agreed upon the matter prior to the party.
The members of Insurgent Trifecta were infuriated by the situation. They clenched their teeth in anger, but there was nothing that they could do.
They had no choice but to acknowledge that they were no match for Axton without Zayn. If they were to engage in the fight en masse, they would certainly be able to defeat Axton, but such a victory would still be meaningless.
They sorely regretted not having Zayn come with them from the start. If favonovel.com had been there, Axton would not have had the courage to brag!
Noticing that the crowd was rendered speechless, Axton turned even more arrogant.
He let out a grunt and said, “Is that all you’ve got, Insurgent Trifecta? You don’t even have the courage to come at me at once, yet you still have the nerve to take on the great responsibility of organizing the Martial Arts Club!”
General King stepped forward and said, “Director Pennywise, the Martial Arts Cup is no trivial matter because it involves the reputation of our country.”
“In my opinion, since your organization is incapable of defeating Sergeant Lawrence, it’s best for you not to undertake what’s beyond your means. Director, you’re a wise man.”
“You know that you won’t even bear the responsibility of ruining the Martial Arts Cup when you’re just a trivial director. Hence, I’d advise you as your friend to take the initiative to request that our superior hand over the important mission to Insurgent Unifecta. Doing this will benefit everyone.”
The statement was made without showing the slightest respect for Joe. The rest of the people joined in to rub it in.
Their words seemed to be amicable on the surface, but in reality, they were disgusted by Insurgent Trifecta and despised the organization. It made the crowd from Insurgent Trifecta extremely displeased!
“Axton, don’t even try to get wise with us! You’re just an amateur fighter. You’re nothing in the presence of our chief instructor!”
A few top-level personnel could not stop themselves from shouting at him.
Liam said, “General King, there’s no need for you to put up a front! If we are incapable of executing the mission, there’s no place for Insurgent Unifecta either!”
Dick could not stop himself from saying aloud, “That’s right. The most formidable chief instructor from Insurgent Trifecta has yet to show up. What’s the point of you being so conceited?”
Following his remark, the rest of the members of Insurgent Trifecta looked toward him.
Liam said softly, “Dick, what’s going on? Did you tell Sergeant Larson about this as well?”
Supposedly, Zayn had not been informed about the welcoming party.
Firstly, it was because they had not anticipated that the group from Yando City would make things so difficult for them.
Secondly, Zayn had to return to his home as well. Instead, the party had turned into something altogether unexpected!
That was why they regretted their decision. They would have invited Zayn to the party had they known that this would happen. That way, they could have discredited Axton and General King!
