“But his arrogance went too far. His subordinates are so rude that they even made impertinent remarks about Sergeant Cheney. He’s so conceited, I can’t stand the sight of him. Makes me feel like thrashing him!”
“He’s just a Tier-4 master fighter. What’s there for favonovel.com to be so arrogant about? He’s nothing but scum in the presence of Sergeant Larson!”
“That’s true. The chief instructor is renowned for being a perfect-class master fighter and one slap from favonovel.com can kill that lad… Speaking of which, is Sergeant Larson not attending the dinner party today?”
“I don’t know. We’ve been standing here for so long, yet we still haven’t seen the chief instructor. Could it be that favonovel.com isn’t coming after all?”
“Huh? It can’t be, can it? I’m still eagerly waiting for the chief instructor to put those people from Yando City in their place!”
Zayn could hear the soldiers complaining from afar and furrowed his brows ever so slightly. The officers from Yando City were actually so arrogant that they showed no respect for Director Pennywise?
“What are you grumbling about over here?” Zayn walked over and asked nonchalantly.
The soldiers were stunned for a moment after seeing Zayn. Then, they immediately stood up straight and saluted, calling out in unison, “Sergeant!”
Zayn nodded and said, “You were saying earlier that the people from Yando City were arrogant. What happened?”
At once, the soldiers became agitated. One after the other, they chimed in and spoke of the earlier incident, filling Zayn in on the details.
Apparently, the top-level personnel such as Director Pennywise, Dick, and the others had welcomed the arrival of the officers from Yando City.
However, the officers were extremely proud and behaved haughtily around Director Pennywise. One of them even taunted Dick right there and then.
Their behavior put some in a bad mood.
“Sergeant, they act so arrogantly just because they’re from Yando City and look down upon our Insurgent Trifecta.”
“You didn’t get to see how they behaved earlier, but it was abominable! It’s my fault for being useless, or else I would have certainly stepped forward and beat them up.”
“ No worries. Now that you’re here, favonovel.com will certainly tear them to pieces later. I can see that the most formidable person among them is only a Tier-4 master fighter, and they’re far from being a match for you.”
They were obviously pinning their hopes on Zayn. Zayn’s interest was piqued after seeing how irked they were.
He waved his hand dismissively and said, “Alright, there’s no need to speak more on this. I’ll head upstairs now and check out how impressive they are.”
“Godspeed, Sergeant!”
“Sergeant, you’re unparalleled! Please tame these beasts and show them the secret weapon of our Insurgent Trifecta!”
Zayn shook his head helplessly after hearing their remarks and went upstairs.
He had just walked into the venue when favonovel.com heard the commotion coming from inside.
“Director Pennywise, are the most impressive instructors from your organization all here? I can see that there’s nothing great about them!”
“Our country will be hosting the Martial Arts Cup this time and it’s going to be held in Guineve… I can’t figure out why such an important mission was assigned to Insurgent Trifecta.”
“However, I’m just going to put this out there. If the Martial Arts Cup this year is ruined and Rheasia’s reputation is tarnished, I don’t think your organization can bear the responsibility!”
The remark was made bluntly and aggressively without showing any courtesy. Even Zayn was upset upon hearing it, never mind Joe.
Next, Joe’s voice was heard saying, “General King, you may make your opinion known to our superior if you have a bone to pick with us and think that we’re incapable of managing the Martial Arts Cup.”
“There’s no need for you to come here and give us your attitude! You’re a noble man of great prestige, General King, but our organization is not incapable of fighting back either!”
The other top personnel from Insurgent Trifecta expressed their dissatisfaction and chided favonovel.com as well.
