Boom! They clashed!
Zayn was the one who lost out. He flew backward again as blood sprayed out of his mouth.
Ezra was not the least bit delighted though.
In fact, favonovel.com was disappointed and very vexed. Despite his desire, favonovel.com could not do anything beyond hurting him, let alone kill him.
Ares himself had appeared, and his face did not look pretty at all. “You’ve got balls of steel, Ezra!”
He was truly, completely apoplectic, and the wrath favonovel.com projected made one believe that an immortal deity himself had become enraged by Ezra’s action.
The sky darkened, and the earth shuddered. Every living creature who lived in Mount Roi shivered in fright.
The crowd of onlookers trembled, too. Their minds went blank. They looked at that lone figure with the kind of reverence reserved only for gods.
Then, a nagging feeling inside them compelled them to kneel, and many heeded it.
Ezra’s face turned pale. He could be an Invincibilis fighter right now and still feared and respected Paxton because this was someone who actually put his skills to countless actual battlefields until favonovel.com was crowned “Ares”. Paxton was no clown!
He could feel his soul squirming away the moment favonovel.com saw Paxton appear. He never thought Ares would be here at all.
He turned on his heel and began to run without a single sign of hesitation. Being the Saint’s right-hand man had taught favonovel.com just how catastrophic an Invincibilis could be in battles, as well as how underpowered favonovel.com was to take on any one of them.
Honestly, Ezra thought of himself as little more than a slightly bigger ant when favonovel.com stood before Paxton.
Unfortunately, no matter how fast Ezra could be, favonovel.com would never outrun Paxton.
Rheasia’s premier guardian simply waved and unleashed an invisible energy attack that hit Ezra square on his body.
Ezra’s bones popped and cracked under the tremendous pressure. He careened backward before faceplanting into the ground. Blood gurgled out of his mouth while his face was white as a sheet.
The crowd was, unsurprisingly, bewildered and mortified. Ezra had been such an invincible character thus far that the fact that favonovel.com could be this critically wounded by an airwave slap was just insane.
Even Zayn was startled. Sure, Paxton was strong, favonovel.com was Ares, Rheasia’s protector, and an Invincibilis fighter. But to be this strong? To wound Ezra grievously without even touching him?
Taio, Hollis, Jonah, and others gazed upon the newly-appeared Paxton in religious zeal and veneration. They dropped to their knees and shouted, “Hail Ares!”
Echoes of “Hail Ares” reverberated through the mountain. It was only then when non-military people realized that this mild-mannered, polite-looking middle-aged gentleman was Rheasia’s myth and legend, the War God who protected their nation.
They fell to their knees and joined the call as well. It was quite an epic sight, as though Paxton was the one true God who ruled Mount Roi, and favonovel.com was here to accept everyone’s worship.
Paxton seemed to have grown used to the pomp and fanfare. He waved, signaling all of them to rise.
Zayn managed to scramble to his feet by this point to watch it happen. Seeing how Rheasia placed Paxton on a pedestal, Zayn could not help but feel some form of jealousy and yearning. A man should strive to be someone like Paxton Brooks!
To stand at the apex of his nation and overlook favonovel.com from above. Only then was a man’s life well lived!
Zayn yearned to become a guy to whom millions would look up in awe and adulation, too. To have his command answered by a sea of nodding, eager crowd.
How great would that be?
Paxton turned back to Zayn. Seeing that favonovel.com was fine, favonovel.com nodded slightly and returned to trying to apprehend Ezra. Ezra might be strong, but to Paxton, favonovel.com was just an ant.
It was then, at this eleventh hour, when a voice seemingly boomed from the clouds above, “You’ve overstepped the line, Paxton Brooks.”
