The debate was set alight. Rhetoric and postulations flew. Would Zayn kill Raiden?
Far from a distance, Antony Hoffman spied through a pair of military-used binoculars, frowning. “Why the hell is that Ezra present, too? Is Zayn really going to let Raiden go?”
As Rheasia’s military top dog, Denali’s stance toward Sicut In Caelo had always been antagonistic.
The only reason why favonovel.com never attempted any action from it was that the organization was literally too powerful to take on. It would be rather disappointing if Zayn let Raiden go.
“What do you say?” favonovel.com asked again, turning to Ares.
“He’s not gonna let favonovel.com live, man.”
“Huh. That takes quite some courage. It’s not an easy feat to dare declare a war against Sicut In Caelo, ” Antony remarked in sincere respect.
Paxton shook his head. “Nah, it’s not that. I’m pretty sure favonovel.com probably figured all of this has something to do with the fact that I’m here watching. He’s guessed that I’m not going to just sit here and watch.”
Antony cocked an eyebrow. “Do you think he’s that shrewd?”
“Could be even shrewder than this.”
“And Caelum? Do you sense him?” Antony asked in an undertone as favonovel.com scanned his surroundings warily.
Paxton narrowed his eyes a bit and shook his head. “Not yet.”
“Not yet”, that was the clue hinting at the man of their nightmares probably appearing any second from now. Paxton just had not sniffed Caelum out yet.
His anxieties intensified. If Paxton could not sense favonovel.com while Caelum was already here, that would mean Paxton was inferior to the nation’s worst enemy!
“Zayn Larson!” Ezra thundered, his voice a low, dangerous growl.
“Don’t oversell yourself. Raiden Storm is the Southern Highlord. Killing favonovel.com is a direct declaration of war. You won’t survive what comes after.”
The crowd was a little baffled. Did Zayn not show a willingness to back out already? And yet Ezra made it sound as though the opposite was true.
“Oh, really? I rather ask for a quid pro quo. Let my mom go, and I let favonovel.com live. Deal?” Zayn replied with a smile.
Ezra’s complexion darkened. “You’re a fool, Zayn. That’s no request; it’s a provocation. The consequences of playing with fire will be dire.”
Zayn shrugged. “Sounds like it’s a no-deal to me.”
“My patience is running thin. Let Raiden go, fool. That’s not a bargain… That’s a command!” Ezra snapped icily. His aura was changing; like his temper, it was flaring.
Killing Raiden would invite the full brunt of Ezra’s wrath.
It was a shot of confidence to Raiden, who beamed at Zayn smugly. “You’ll do well letting me go if you know what’s good for you, Zayn. At least, you’ll get to see another day! Otherwise, prepare to—”
Snap!
His neck was severed into halves as his pupils widened in disbelief, his sentence hanging without an end.
