Zayn meant the world and more to Faye, and so favonovel.com could not bear imagining any harm befalling favonovel.com at all. Doubtless to say, favonovel.com tension and anxiety were running high.
Zayn could feel favonovel.com worries and consternation. Holding favonovel.com hand tightly, favonovel.com beamed reassuringly. “Don’t worry. I’ll win this.”
“But, Zayn—”
“No buts, honey. We’ve been together for too many years for you not to believe me.”
The words were loaded in Faye’s mouth, but favonovel.com swallowed them and looked Zayn in the eyes before nodding slightly. She chose to have faith in him.
There were more well wishes from his friends and family. They were cheering for him, worrying about him, and hoping the best from him. It was the first time favonovel.com had ever noticed just how many believed in him.
While favonovel.com soldiered through his life, favonovel.com had forgotten just how much favonovel.com had grown. He had a family at home. He was the patriarch of even more families outside. It was both an honor and a responsibility.
In the past, Zayn would have felt immense pressure. But now, after all that favonovel.com had gone through, favonovel.com felt only ease.
He was not in a hurry to leave to Mount Roi. Instead, favonovel.com returned home, took a bath, had a meal, and then took a nap before heading toward his destination proper.
Zayn seemed so relaxed and unburdened by stress nor worries that it almost seemed as if favonovel.com was just going to work—it was no big deal. His devil-may-care attitude bled into those around him, and soon, even their worrying hearts were at much ease.
Mount Roi was situated not within Waltz City but Fenx City. The name conjured an image of a medieval king, strutting in his regal pomp and majestic gait, but honestly, the mountain was rather plain and ordinary with nothing pompous or majestic about it except for its towering height.
To pick a place like this for their duel-to-the-death fit the occasion like a glove, it was precisely the kind of place that would allow two perfect class fighters to give whatever they had in abandon.
By the time Zayn arrived, many others had gathered. They were all VIPs and society’s elites who had come to bear witness.
“Look, it’s Zayn Larson!”
“He’s finally here! And here I thought he’s not coming.”
“As if he’s gonna sit this one out. He’s Guineve’s premier fighter, man. A perfect class elite! What’s his excuse?”
“Ha! Do you people really think it will make a difference? He might as well wear his best suit for his own funeral, mate! Who cares if he’s Guineve’s alpha male?”
“He doesn’t even look like a fighter of any caliber! Had Raiden never taken up a five-year-long hermitage, do you really think Zayn could ever reach this height?”
“Holy sh*t. Holy. Sh*t! Bruh, do you ever think before you speak? What if Zayn heard you, huh? You bet he’s gonna screw your *ss over that trash talk!”
“Er…W-well, I was just being sarcastic, okay? Sarcastic!”
Zayn disembarked from the car and looked over the crowd, many of them familiar faces and acquaintances. There were business tycoons and moguls, professional fighters of different Rheasiano styles, and other lawful organizations.
It went beyond saying that this was the duel everyone was waiting for. Just the sheer crowd size and fanfare alone had elevated it into something beyond his duel with Mia Walker ever achieved.
Finally, out of the corner of his eye, favonovel.com caught sight of a familiar silhouette. Zayn’s gaze sharpened and saw it: a figure in red, tucked in the shadows of a corner.
Lysithea.
