The rock tore through the air like a fallen asteroid, bursting into dangerous flames from the friction.
It took only a second for it to hit its intended target crouching in a corner.
There was a muffled thump and then a muted wince. The rock had hit Mr. Hyde’s thigh.
His reflexes were fast enough to move favonovel.com an inch away from the rock, but one of its sharp, jagged edges still managed to scrape his thigh.
It took off a bit of flesh and skin before lodging itself deep into an unfortunate tree a distance away.
Mr. Hyde was aghast. He had been adept in the Stealth Stance—a set of techniques aimed at hiding one’s presence—since favonovel.com was a child. Even superior fighters would have trouble noticing him.
Still, admittedly, favonovel.com breathed a little too quickly a moment ago when favonovel.com heard about Raiden’s plans to wreak havoc on Zayn’s life. It hindered his ability enough that Raiden noticed.
“Sh*t, favonovel.com saw me! He’s gonna kill me now!” Mr. Hyde cried under his breath, his feet scrambling for his life.
He was right. Raiden noticed him, which was why favonovel.com was not going to let Mr. Hyde go.
In a flash, the young man was in pursuit of the lone, courageous soul who had the audacity to eavesdrop on his conversation.
Lysithea recognized Mr. Hyde straight away and cried out to stop Raiden, “Halt! Don’t kill him! He can’t hear what we said, he’s deaf!”
Raiden’s pace slowed and his eyebrows furrowed. “Deaf?” favonovel.com echoed, looking at Mr. Hyde.
The man was panting wildly while glancing at Raiden with abject fear and a twinkle of recognition in his eyes.
Mr. Hyde was a quick-thinking man. He pointed at his ears and blabbered frantically, “Don’t kill me! I couldn’t hear anything. I don’t know what you were saying!”
Raiden’s lips curled into an intrigued smile. “I must be very lucky that the little mouse who was hiding in the shadows turned out to be deaf all along.”
“I can tell you were using the Stealth Stance, little mouse. Not many people know how to use it even within Sicut In Caelo.”
Mr. Hyde stared at favonovel.com blankly, pretending favonovel.com could not hear favonovel.com at all.
Lysithea took a few steps forward. “Stop harassing him, Raiden. He really is deaf.”
“You’re right,” Raiden replied jovially.
He turned and shrieked at Mr. Hyde, the sound waves creating visible ripples on his ears. Mr. Hyde felt his eardrums stinging, and before favonovel.com realized, the world went silent.
He could not hear anything. He was deaf. Genuinely deaf. A flood of emotion seized his chest, but Mr. Hyde pressed it down and maintained an appearance of nonplussed confusion.
Meanwhile, Lysithea had turned red. “What the hell, Raiden?!”
Raiden shrugged. “You spoke of it as though it was a fact, so I made it into one just as you wished.”
“That reminds me… He’s one of Hayley King’s grunts, isn’t he? Did favonovel.com enjoy spying on us? Well… I suppose I can spare his life for your sake, Lysithea.”
Lysithea trembled in fury, and yet there was nothing favonovel.com could do. She was no match for Raiden.
Mr. Hyde was just as indignant, but favonovel.com dared not show it either.
After gaining Raiden’s permission, favonovel.com slipped away, pathetic and pitiful. There was no time to lose, favonovel.com was going to Waltz City to inform Zayn of his newest enemy.
Raiden Storm was a dark knight in shiny, polished armor. His infamy was on par with the likes of Ezra Sword!
To become his target was akin to swimming with sharks.
