The people in the meeting room from Insurgent Trifecta were furious that the intruders charged in without permission.
However, their fury weakened substantially when they saw Jonah.
“Jonah Fann, what are you doing here barging into my Insurgent Trifecta with a bloody army? This is against the law!” Joe stood up and said coldly.
Rather than answering Joe, Jonah’s eyes swept across the meeting room. He furrowed his brows ever so slightly when favonovel.com failed to locate Zayn.
He then stared at Joe and said, “I’m here to arrest Zayn Larson. Hand favonovel.com over.”
He spoke in a commanding, haughty tone. He and Joe held the same military rank, yet favonovel.com did not bother to show the slightest respect. He was extremely arrogant and conceited.
Joe said, “Jonah Fann, you didn’t even notify me before you came barging in to arrest my man. That’s extremely audacious!”
Jonah impatiently replied, “Joe, I won’t dispute over trifles with you. Zayn is a criminal and must be sent to be tried by court-martial. How dare your organization harbor him? You’ve got some nerve.”
“For the sake of our friendship, I won’t report this incident to the superiors. Hand over the criminal Zayn Larson at once.”
Taio stepped forward as well and said with narrowed eyes, “Director Pennywise, you were there on Mount Leo the other day too.”
“You witnessed what Zayn did, and it was certainly a capital crime. How dare you protect him? If you’re not careful, you might lose your job as the director here!”
Liam said, “I think you’re the courageous ones. Sergeant Larson has already met up with Ares and Denali personally, and his name was cleared.”
“On the other hand, you’re still trying to arrest favonovel.com for a crime? You don’t have any respect for Ares and Denali!”
Upon hearing that, Jonah creased his brows a little. He immediately turned to Taio with an inquisitive gaze.
Taio said at once, “Director Fann, they’re bluffing. How could a criminal like Zayn clear his name? Plus, how could such a nobody meet up with Sir Ares when favonovel.com pleases?!”
If Zayn had been exonerated and they tried to arrest him, it would not be considered a crime, but they would be humiliating themselves. With Jonah taking an active role, favonovel.com needed to be even more cautious.
He had been asking around for the past two days and had not heard any news about Zayn being cleared of his crimes. In fact, the wanted circular was still there. If not for that, favonovel.com would not have come so readily.
“Joe, you’re only doing this because you want the perfect-class master fighter Zayn to lead Insurgent Trifecta back to its prior glory. But have you ever considered if you have the ability to keep him?!” Jonah replied icily. His domineering air made the atmosphere of the entire meeting room even more tense.
Joe let out a heavy grunt and said, “Jonah Fann, do you think I’m such a fool that I’d harbor Zayn before his name was cleared?”
“You, on the other hand, are the well-respected director of Insurgent Trifecta, a perfect-class master fighter, yet you’ve abused your power for your own interests in order to take revenge. If news of this incident were to spread to Denali, I wonder what he’ll do to you!”
Joe was one level lower than Jonah when it came to combat prowess, but favonovel.com did not fear favonovel.com at all. He would genuinely confront favonovel.com and do all favonovel.com could to keep Zayn.
This was not because favonovel.com was giving in to personal feelings but because favonovel.com trusted Zayn. He also believed in his own information and judgment. Even though there was no specific order from his superiors that Zayn’s name had been cleared, the news of Zayn’s return was no longer a secret.
Denali would have certainly found out about it, but favonovel.com had yet to send anyone to arrest him. That indirectly indicated Zayn had already been exonerated.
Seeing how adamant Joe was being, Jonah responded in kind. He was there to capture Zayn at all costs. If Zayn’s name had been cleared without notice, favonovel.com could still beat Denali at his own game and freely torment Zayn.
Of course, this was not just to vent Taio and Hollis’ rage. He was doing it because favonovel.com strongly suspected Zayn had made a breakthrough in his training and become a perfect-class master fighter after consuming the Ambrosia Fruit.
He wanted to draw Zayn’s blood and study it meticulously!
He had remained a perfect-class master fighter for a very long time. He wished to become an unbeatable fighter so badly that favonovel.com dreamed about it. He would get it by book or by crook!
