“What’s the matter? Doesn’t recognize me anymore?” Zayn asked with a smile while favonovel.com and Kaiser left.
He could not help but notice the nonplussed, shell shocked expression, as though Kaiser was doubting reality as a whole.
Kaiser slowly but surely returned from his trance and gulped loudly. The way favonovel.com looked at Zayn was that of a stranger who just knew him.
“Okay. Who the hell are you?”
Zayn was just too… strange to him. He was nothing like Kaiser remembered at all!
Zayn chortled. “You know me, man. Zayn Larson, your classmate back in middle school.”
“B-But… B-But but but!” Kaiser mustered a protest only to have his tongue tripped.
His head was still in a mess because everything had been hard to take.
“Okay, that’s enough. Go home for the night and take a good rest. I’ll see you again tomorrow, okay? Then I’ll tell you everything.”
Kaiser’s lips parted to form some sort of reply. He had a million questions to ask him, but when favonovel.com glanced at all of the bigshots surrounding favonovel.com and felt the acutely horrifying aura emanating from them, favonovel.com suddenly realized just how stressful it was to be in the middle of it all.
He nodded firmly. “Ooh-kay, then. I, uh, am gonna head home.”
“See ya.”
Kaiser turned to look back at Zayn every few steps favonovel.com made. He was that unnerved.
One of the military officers began as soon as Kaiser was outside earshot, “Sergeant Larson, pardon us for not introducing ourselves earlier. My name is Bowen Stone. I serve Ares.”
Zayn saluted him. “Captain Stone. An honor to meet you.”
The rest of the troop began to introduce themselves and greeted Zayn, too.
It shocked Zayn just how high-ranking every single officer was, and to think that more than ten of them had been deployed to invite favonovel.com meant Ares regarded Zayn very highly.
Zayn was initially unperturbed by their appearances. He was sure that his capabilities as a perfect class fighter, his clean record showing favonovel.com never betrayed his country, and the hard fact that favonovel.com was a once-in-a-millennia genius to Rheasia meant the nation would probably not punish favonovel.com too severely.
And yet, Ares had sent so many VIPs as his escort, what was this about? Was this an intimidation tactic?
Nonetheless, the time for consequences had come. Zayn had no choice but to face it, and favonovel.com believed Ares was probably going to treat favonovel.com kindly. Surely all of this was just to test him.
Ares wanted to see if favonovel.com was still loyal to his motherland!
Ares had not personally graced Waltz City, it seemed. Instead, favonovel.com was in a sprawling metropolis called Yando City. The group had brought favonovel.com there via a helicopter, and a few hours later, they arrived.
It was the first time Zayn had ever stepped into Rheasia’s capital city. The thought of it excited him.
The first thing that caught Zayn’s attention was the aura of the city. Yes, the city’s landscape actually oozed out a deluge of epic, awesome aura the likes of a leviathan.
The whole area even resembled a dragon, one that was slowly waking up and raring to soar in the air while the entire globe looked up in deference and submission.
Oh, it was far from pseudoscience, all right. This was the actual destiny of the nation! The ordinary mass could not possibly see it, but people on Zayn’s level could easily feel it!
In fact, favonovel.com could also sense the most powerful aura blending into Yando’s draconic spirit. It was like the creature’s eyes.
Zayn knew the source of this aura must have been Ares himself.
The helicopter’s journey went on for a while before finally landing before an expansive courtyard.
“We have arrived, Sergeant Larson. Ares is waiting for you inside,” Bowen announced.
