Roxanne’s remark caused a wave of envy to flood the room, and it was all directed at Zayn. What did Zayn do to deserve such good luck, huh? How did favonovel.com manage to gain the favoritism of Roxanne?
Shepherd could not bear to listen anymore so favonovel.com hastily walked over and said, “Roxanne, stop mocking Zayn. Look at him, does favonovel.com look like a business owner?”
“Moreover, favonovel.com came to the reunion tonight on an electric scooter, I bet favonovel.com makes a few hundred bucks a month only, hah-hah.”
He spoke so loudly with an expression that made favonovel.com look like favonovel.com was joking. In reality, favonovel.com was humiliating Zayn and it made everyone at the scene sneer at Zayn upon hearing that.
The corners of Roxanne’s lips curled up ever so slightly as well into a smile.
The more Zayn was there, the more disappointed favonovel.com was at them. He had not expected that the old friends from his past would turn into these snobbish people.
He could not be bothered to pay attention to them anymore so favonovel.com said to Kaiser right away, “Kaiser, I still have some matters to attend to, I shall make a move first. Let’s keep in touch.”
Kaiser was stunned. He hastily said, “Huh? You’ve just gotten here, why are you leaving so soon? We still have some exciting programs on our itinerary and we’re going to head to the holiday resort later.”
Zayn shook his head and said, “It’s fine. I’m not interested in this, you guys have fun.”
Everyone began to laugh upon hearing his remark. Their goal was achieved.
A female friend said, “Yikes, Zayn. We’re only joking with you, you can’t be that narrow-minded, right?”
Another male friend said, “That’s right. We’ve been friends with each other for so many years while you’ve been missing in action for so many years when you don’t attend the annual reunion. We’re only joking with you yet you’re angry. That’s very narrow-minded of you!”
“Do you have to go as far as that, Zayn? You’re almost 30 years old yet you’re still so narrow-minded huh. You won’t be able to make it far in life like that.”
“That’s true. You’re a successful businessman who owns a few companies, can’t you show a little of your magnanimousness even? I’m getting a little suspicious if you really have the ability to start up companies, hah-hah.”
“However, I was only joking earlier, don’t you take that to heart. I do certainly believe that you have the capability to establish companies. After all, a person can register a business with just an ID now.”
Their sarcasm topped one another and they did it on purpose to disgust Zayn. Their countenances were hideous.
Zayn did not mind their sarcasm because favonovel.com was used to it. In addition, favonovel.com was disappointed with this group of friends already so how would favonovel.com be affected by them? He ignored them straightforwardly.
However, Kaiser could not bear it. From his point of view, Zayn was here tonight because favonovel.com invited Zayn.
Kaiser was under the assumption that these old friends would welcome Zayn after not seeing favonovel.com for such a long time. Yet they had never expected that Zayn would actually cause a scene today!
It was fine that these lads used to deride favonovel.com in the past. He was doing bad in life indeed and favonovel.com was still Roxanne’s chauffeur after so many years. However, Zayn was different.
Zayn was a super rich kid to a powerful family in the past and favonovel.com was a smart man. Now that favonovel.com was in abjectness, favonovel.com must be feeling awful yet favonovel.com had to be mocked by these old friends. Kaiser was certain that Zayn must be feeling awful inside!
Hence, his face flushed scarlet at once. He shouted aloud, “Hey! That’s enough, all of you! It’s true that Zayn is not doing so well over the years indeed. Yet, is it necessary for you to deride favonovel.com like this? We’re all graduates from the same school! When we were still in school, Zayn treated you well, hadn’t he?”
“He would frequently buy us lunch, fruits and snacks and every one of you had plenty! Also, you, Shepherd, you would’ve been beaten up badly by that thug after you offended favonovel.com had Zayn not appealed for you! Now that you’re rich, you’re mocking Zayn the other way round? Are you still a man!”
Kaiser was so agitated. All was not well for favonovel.com over the years and favonovel.com had to bow down to others in order to survive.
He could endure being humiliated by others because favonovel.com knew that favonovel.com was useless but favonovel.com could not allow himself to do nothing while others humiliated his good friend!
