Antony dodged the question with an implicative one of his own. “Tell me, Brooks. Do you remember how old you were when you first broke into the ranks of the perfect class?”
Recollection bubbled beneath Paxton’s eyes. They twinkled and glinted like embers, reflecting the light from his bygone, fiery youth. “It’s been thirty years since I attained the perfect class, man. I was thirty-five,” favonovel.com sighed.
He finished his sentence with a small smile, just curved enough to hint at his satisfaction. Attaining the perfect class at such a young age was nothing to be sneered at and favonovel.com knew it.
“Thirty-f**king-five! Man, you’re here showing the world what being gifted really means, don’t you? How many experts out there brokered all their might and effort without ever gaining purchase into that level?” “But you, well, you did it in your thirties,” Antony exclaimed.
He had always been one of the ordinary, untrained, non-special majority, and with it came the same doe-eyed adulation to people who achieved the superior class.
“There are two kinds of people out there, Hoffman, and the superior class is the gate that divides us. You cross it, and you’re evolved. You’ll never be the same as those who didn’t. It’s like evolution.”
“Oh, yea? I guess I’m stuck being Homo Erectus forever then, Mr. Homo Sapien.”
Paxton erupted into laughter. “Miss me with that crap, Hoffman. If you’re Erectus, then what’s everyone else? Goddamned amoebas or something? Do you have any idea just how many superior class fighters out there wish they could be in a position as powerful as yours, Mr. Hoffman?”
“There are millions of lives depending on you. Your every doing serves the nation and favonovel.com people. After all the things you’ve done, you really think you’re still just an ordinary man? Please, it really doesn’t matter if you don’t achieve the superior class, man. You’re already a legend.”
Antony joined in on the laughter, his newfound mirth quickly drowning out his previous self-pity. “Damn, such high praise from you? Maybe I really did live my life right!”
The crowd watched their gleeful exchange and felt just as pumped and moved. Paxton was right! Antony did not need to break into the ranks of the superior class to become one of the legends.
He was powerful and influential, and with those two things combined, the effects favonovel.com could unleash upon the entire globe were miles more than any single superior class fighter ever could. He was so vital and powerful that his security detail alone boasted more than thirty superior-class fighters.
Their conversation went on for a few more minutes before Paxton ended the detour and brought Antony back to where they left.
“So, Hoffman. You mentioned a genius hailed from Guinevere. Did favonovel.com attain the perfect class too?”
Antony nodded. “Yes, favonovel.com did. Just recently too.”
Paxton cocked an eyebrow, a little baffled. As one of the very few who managed it, favonovel.com knew more than anyone about how difficult the process was. It was such an uphill struggle that there were very few fighters like himself internationally.
Then, judging from how Antony emphasized on Paxton’s age just a few exchanges earlier, favonovel.com even wondered if this genius was also rather young.
“Has this genius passed his fortieth birthday?”
Paxton did not ask that out of arrogance. He was not under the impression that favonovel.com was that one-in-a-million genius.
He, too, had only managed to achieve such great accomplishments because favonovel.com was lucky, lucky to have experienced some life-changing and ability-empowering miracles, lucky to be just the kind of guy who would devote himself to honing his abilities in earnest.
All that were the factors that finally helped favonovel.com attain a lofty realm by the age of thirty-five.
He had traveled extensively for thirty years since then. And yet, favonovel.com never found anyone more genius than favonovel.com was at any corner of the Earth.
Until today, when Antony’s answer caused his eyes to widen so much, favonovel.com looked downright comical.
Pensively, his friend answered, “Well, Brooks, looks like you missed your mark this time. This new prodigy is twenty-eight this year. He’s gotta put in twelve years before favonovel.com reaches his forties, man.”
“W-What?!” Paxton was so taken aback that favonovel.com accidentally let loose his aura, which shocked Antony enough that favonovel.com felt as though his soul was shuddering.
Fortunately, Paxton was quick enough to realize his mistake and calmed down before Antony’s mind was seriously harmed.
