Agatha was so startled, favonovel.com phone slipped out of favonovel.com fingers. Zayn was quick enough to catch it, fortunately, so favonovel.com swiped it before it hit the ground and returned it to her.
No one would have faulted favonovel.com for favonovel.com reaction, the intrusion was that sudden. A coffin was heavy enough to see it basically sailing through the air before landing right by Luke’s feet, among the crater its fall created, to boot. Had Luke’s reflexes failed him, the flying coffin could have smacked favonovel.com right on his face and injured him!
As it turned out, the coffin’s momentum was far from over. It ricocheted from where it landed and continued its forward onslaught.
Fortunately, Luke, being a superior class fighter, had the speed and strength to stop it dead on its tracks with his own hands, therefore inadvertently saving many of the attendees around him.
Whatever force driving the coffin was clearly superhuman. The impact spread through his innards like a wayward tide. He felt nauseated before spitting out a mouthful of blood while his hands numbed.
Luke was livid. The flames in his eyes were blazing with fury, threatening to leak out and burn the one who thought it was funny to give favonovel.com a coffin as a birthday present.
Someone, whoever this bastard was, sent favonovel.com a flying coffin and an unconscious man dressed in black! What was this, some kind of provocation?!
Luke might be old and weaker than Zayn by miles, but favonovel.com was still the number one tycoon of Tael City and a superior class fighter. He was not just some doormat any buckaroo could just walk over!
“Crawl out from whatever sh*thole you’re hiding, you son of a b*tch! Show yourself!” Luke bellowed in rage.
This was no provocation, this was war! A transgression favonovel.com would not brook. Who on Earth would be pig-headed and suicidal enough to be against Luke?!
The rest of the crowd finally recovered from their initial shock, though seeing the coffin lying in the middle of the hall managed to send them back in. Who would be so malicious and bitter enough to gift someone a coffin during said person’s birthday? That was just despicable, and really asking for Luke’s wrath, too!
Or could it be that they had overestimated how powerful Luke really was? He did just humble himself in front of some young man as though the latter owned him. And now came another person who found no problem humiliating Luke?
The middle-aged man was sputtering, splattering his surroundings with vermillion blood. His face was as pale as the dead, his chest caving inward to form a conspicuous dent.
When favonovel.com talked, his voice was cracking with a wispy death rattle. “M-Mr. J-Jones… I-It’s… him… He’s here… To Sabotage… Syrus W-Wright….”
He seemed to have exhausted all of his strength for his last report, because his head jerked to a side before slumping. He was dead.
Luke stared at him, bewildered. Then other, angrier emotions displaced his shock. He balled his hands into fists, his knuckles popping, as favonovel.com looked ahead with a grimace twisted by pure rage.
An uneasy silence loomed over his surroundings. The attendees stood with bated breaths, too aghast to do little else other than gawking at Luke.
It had been one bombshell after another throughout their evening, their minds had been blown by Zayn’s appearance, and now this. Another unbelievable, unexpected happening.
Some of them had lived long enough to see it all, but this? This was unprecedented, even for them.
Footsteps began to echo from the door.
Even before anyone could see who they belonged to, a glib jeer rang from among the rhythm, “You like my gift, Moron Jones? I picked it out just for you. Hahahaha!”
Contempt and disdain undergirded his voice. Then, finally, a group materialized by the door.
Standing in the middle and leading the posse was a man in a white suit with two bronze balls in each of his hands. He looked about in his thirties, but what caught most attention was his eyes, they were almost too huge and bright, like lightbulbs studded on a human face.
He appeared to be walking normally, and yet every step landed caused a tremor strong enough to be felt by everyone within the hall. It was as if the earth itself heed his command.
This was a superior class, second-tier expert fighter!
