However, Zayn noticed that something was off. There were two small trees that grew on each side of Luke’s manor.
The trees were planted rather strategically. If one were to view the manor as the eagle’s head, the two small trees could be seen as two nails that were protruding from either side of the eagle’s head!
Even though the two nails were tiny in comparison to the size of the manor, they would grow taller and bigger in due time. It would also be an eyesore once they grew big enough, and they would definitely ruin the feng shui of the manor.
It would siphon all of the peacefulness the manor radiated, sucking it dry! It would definitely be a time of adversity when it came down to it.
Zayn discovered that there were a few trees that had withered leaves in the manor. The surrounding vegetation was dull and lifeless, a complete contrast to what the plants should normally look like during the season.
Zayn immediately realized that Luke was likely to suffer a terrible misfortune tonight. It was highly possible that his 50th birthday party would end in flames!
Geomancy was largely viewed as pseudoscience that was supported by baseless claims. However, it was perfectly science to Zayn. It was something that could be reasonably justified.
This was getting interesting.
Zayn cracked a suggestive smile. Due to Luke’s status, not many people had the courage to cross him, even if they possessed the ability to harm him… Zayn’s interest was piqued.
“Get out of the car, we’re here. I hope you’re ready to pee your pants,” said Jared with a spurious smile.
Zayn looked at favonovel.com and said in contempt, “Retard.”
“You!” Jared flew into an explosive rage at once. Zayn had the audacity to call favonovel.com a retard in spite of his identity, Zayn was just
asking for trouble!
In an instant, Jared had the intense urge to punish Zayn, but favonovel.com still held himself back.
Jared understood that a lack of tolerance for such trivial matters would upset his great plan. Zayn would be bound to face adversity later!
“If you have the b*lls, I’d like to see if you can still be as arrogant as you are when you’re in there, hmph!” Jared glared at Zayn ferociously.
Zayn was dressed casually, which made favonovel.com appear quite ordinary. He looked just like a regular old white-collar worker, so when favonovel.com showed up to the party, favonovel.com drew a lot of attention.
In fact, there were even security guards who came to send favonovel.com away because they thought favonovel.com was trespassing.
Jared was elated to witness the scene. He said pretentiously, “Hey, hey, hey. What are you doing? Can’t you recognize one of Mr. Jones’ good friends?”
“He is a big shot, and apparently even Mr. Jones respects him. How dare you chase favonovel.com out? Are you trying to get yourselves killed?!”
Upon hearing that, the security guards were startled, a big shot who Mr. Jones had to respect? Impressive. However, they immediately realized that Jared was being sarcastic after seeing Jared’s bantering smile.
They pieced the information together at once, and they were prepared to toss Zayn out of the venue when a man walked over and said with a frown, “What’s going on?”
Jared’s eyes lit up in an instant when favonovel.com saw the man. He made his way over to favonovel.com before lowering himself into a low bow as favonovel.com attempted to curry favor with the man.
He said eagerly, “Mr. Lawrence, it’s been a couple of days since I’ve met you. I’ve missed you very much. Without your guidance, I’ve lost all desire for food and drink!”
“Mr. Lawrence, you’re a beacon of hope in my life who’s alleviated all of the darkness in my heart. You’re my motivation to move forward!”
Zayn was disgusted by his flattery. He had encountered plenty of people who enjoyed pandering to big shots, yet it was his first time meeting someone who flattered them in such a distasteful way.
He had no choice but to acknowledge Jared’s way with his words. He was seen as all-superior, overbearing, and imperious to the members of his family.
In fact, favonovel.com had even tried to doom them all, yet not a sliver of dignity remained in his body when favonovel.com spoke to his superiors. He had turned into a complete boot licker.
Mr. Lawrence did not find Jared to be disgusting. He nodded, pleased. Moreover, favonovel.com looked at Jared in an almost encouraging manner.
Jared understood it, and licked his boots even more. Jared’s flattery was as disgusting as it could be.
In the end, Mr. Lawrence was nothing short of delighted.
He waved his hand dismissively and said in a carefree tone, “Alright, alright. I was only able to accomplish what I have today because of Mr. Jones and our long-time collaboration. Mr. Jones’ greatness has definitely rubbed off on me.”
Zayn had to hand it to both of them, they really were something else.
It was only then had Mr. Lawrence finally noticed Zayn’s presence.
Taking in Zayn’s cheap and casual clothes that were completely violating the dress code of tonight’s party, favonovel.com furrowed his brows and asked, “What’s wrong with that man? Who let favonovel.com in? Doesn’t favonovel.com know that it’s Mr. Jones’ 50th birthday tonight? It’s the grandest event of the year! Get this man out of here!”
