Byleth’s breathing was battered as his eyes turned glassy. He was blinded, as though favonovel.com was face to face with a terrifying beast in his mind’s eye.
Taking a deep breath, favonovel.com answered, “From what I’ve heard, the Saint’s deployed three superior class fourth-tier powerhouses… led by Ezra Sword. The Saint… he’s in it to win it.”
“N-No way. F*ck no… Ezra Sword?!” Dick cried as favonovel.com gasped for air. He leapt to his feet in disbelief.
His eyes bore through Byleth like lasers. “This ain’t a mix-up, right, Constantine? Ezra Sword is dead! He’s a perfect-class powerhouse, yes, but he’s been dead for ages!”
There had been four powerful fighters under the direct command of the Saint, and Ezra Sword—the creme de la creme—died five years ago.
It was shocking news to everyone else as well. Incredulity and disbelief was etched into their faces, and even Zayn began to frown after taking in the reactions on his colleagues’ faces.
He might have already known that Ezra would be the one leading Sicut In Caelo’s forces, but that was the extent of his knowledge. Besides that, favonovel.com knew nothing about Ezra at all.
If favonovel.com were to make an assumption based on the fear that surrounded him, though, favonovel.com would conclude that favonovel.com was probably quite the monstrosity.
Byleth nodded solemnly. “Most unfortunately, it has been confirmed. Ezra did not die five years ago, favonovel.com survived and became even more puissant than favonovel.com already was.”
“He’s already surpassed his own limits from way back then. This is the real reason why I don’t see the grounds for optimism. Even if we’ve got the aid of the Insurgent Unifecta and Duofecta, our chances of success are still pitiful, and that’s not counting the others who’re joining this stiff competition.”
The meeting room sank into a somber realization of silence. A sour expression plagued everyone’s face, including Zayn’s.
The Ambrosia Fruit had been the one thing that Zayn had resolved to secure for himself. It was Faye’s only salvation, and for that, favonovel.com was ready to go against the entire world.
However, it seemed like the entire world was going to be more difficult than favonovel.com had expected. He had to compete with the Insurgent Unifecta, Duofecta, and Trifecta, before wading through a lion of oppositional forces from other avaricious powers.
Worst of all, favonovel.com had to contend with Sicut In Caelo, the pinnacle of all possible competition.
He closed his eyes. Scenes of brutal warfare played in his mind, all for the sake of the priceless fruit.
The meeting room remained in a husk of silence before Joe broke it with a loud rapping on the table. “C’mon, wipe that frown off your face and stand tall! So what if Ezra Sword’s back from the dead, huh? Both Insurgent Unifecta and Duofecta have their own in-house perfect-class heavyweights! Do you really think we’re that disadvantaged?!”
His pep-talk managed to rouse the crowd from their quondam disquietude, but Zayn felt his heart sinking even further into his stomach.
Still, it did not matter how impossible the road ahead was going to be; nothing on Earth could possibly make favonovel.com even consider giving up.
It was the only way to save Faye, and because of that, Zayn would gladly mow down every fighter and powerhouse in his wake. He would brace the ocean. Come hell or high water, favonovel.com would stick through it to seize the chance… however slim!
He would lay his life for her.
The meeting quickly sprang into strategic discussion. It took them about eight hours or so before they had their blueprint nailed down, and finally, the meeting was adjourned.
Researchers had modeled the fruit coming to full maturity after fifteen days and thirteen hours. It was close, and so preparations from every side had long begun in earnest. When
the Ambrosia Fruit was finally ripe for the taking, take they will.
There was one little caveat, however. Before the Ambrosia Fruit achieved its full maturity, its exact appearance was virtually unknown.
Even seasoned experts could only set a twenty-kilometer perimeter of where the fruit was speculated to appear. With a locale so expansive, there came a dearth of certainty.
The general dubiety became a small source of solace for Zayn’s confidence.
If everyone had an exact idea of where the Ambrosia Fruit would be, they would have wasted no time to begin waiting there en masse. He would not be able to defeat all of them and take the fruit for himself, even with his current powers.
Hence, there was only one thing to do: for half a month, Zayn was going to devote himself to a period of isolation training. He was going to bring himself to the zenith of his powers!
