Zayn froze. He realized that there was a sudden change in ambiance, and everyone around favonovel.com seemed to share the same volume of consternation as Byleth when favonovel.com mentioned the organization in question.
A possibility cropped up in his mind, and his heart skipped a beat.
Outwardly, favonovel.com projected himself to be none the wiser. “What is this ‘organization’, Sergeant Constantine?”
Byleth turned to face him. Dark clouds were swirling in his pupils like a howling gale, before favonovel.com took a deep breath and answered, “Sicut In Caelo!”
Just as favonovel.com had suspected. Zayn felt the confusion in his mind dissipate. It was exactly what favonovel.com had guessed, the organization that worried Byleth was Sicut In Caelo.
Liam’s eyes widened. “W-What the hell? Sicut In Caelo’s got their eyes on the goddamned fruit too?!”
The people around them were aghast and in shock. Their eyes were murky with similar trepidation. It was a telltale sign of how much of a threat Sicut In Caelo posed to the Insurgent Trifecta.
It hearkened back to the first time Zayn had ever been approached by the Insurgent Trifecta. He had mentioned the organization by name to Nicole Simmons’s nonplussed face.
She had not known about the organization at all, which made Zayn conclude that the organization must have been elusive enough that not even a national elite agency like the Insurgent Trifecta knew of its existence.
However, now Zayn had to revisit his verdict. It seemed that the higher-ups did know about the group. In fact, they knew enough to be very frightened of them too.
Dick scrunched his brows together. “Sicut In Caelo seldom conducts their activities within the borders, do they not? Besides, they signed an accord with the top brass of the country. They’re forbidden from viewing us as enemies in any given circumstance!”
The other higher-ups quickly contributed to the discussion with their own inputs. Zayn listened to each and every one of them until favonovel.com slowly gained a deeper understanding of the organization. For one —and a very obvious fact, at that— Sicut In Caelo was a tremendously influential mammoth-like organization based in Rheasia.
It held so much power that even the top dogs of the government were wary of them.
Zayn was not the least bit surprised. He had countless run-ins with its members before, and everyone—from Vulcan, to Diego and Lysithea—had all been insanely powerful and more dexterous than one could ever imagine.
One could not comprehend how overwhelmingly powerful the Saint was, the one who sat on the apex of the organization’s hierarchy.
Joe took a deep breath. “Sergeant Constantine, are you sure about this? The Saint had an agreement with the top brass, man.”
“If they joined in on the mad scramble for the Ambrosia Fruit… It would signify a breach of mutual trust from their side. Our superiors will not let such a transgression pass without dire consequences!”
The crowd quickly assented to his declaration. Sicut In Caelo was strong, their monarch was even stronger. He was so powerful that the man’s powers were virtually incomprehensible.
Rumor had it that favonovel.com had reached the state of Invincibilis, where a human ceased to be susceptible to any kind of damage or harm.
In other words, Sicut In Caelo was riot the least bit intimidated by the combined forces of a nation. Invincibilis was peak power, the paragon of all potentials in the world, a force of destruction tantamount to that of a nuclear bomb… or even more.
“The Saint had signed an accord with top government officials, yes,” Byleth replied.
“He might have attained nigh-godly powers and reached the state of Invincibilis, but he’s not exactly unbeatable just yet. There are still reasons for the Saint to be wary of what the upper-echelon is capable of doing.”
“If favonovel.com does have something to be afraid of, then explain why the organization seems so gung-ho towards the idea of appropriating the Ambrosia Fruit for themselves?” Dick chimed in.
Byleth rapped on the table. “Please. This is an Aeon Karpos. A fruit borne from accumulating Earth’s mightiest, most potent life essence for 112 years. It’s no different from the food of gods,” favonovel.com explained. “Don’t you see why the Saint would be interested? Besides, he’s not going to show up. He’s sending his people to do it in his stead.”
“Well, I’ll be damned. I heard the man’s got three perfect-class fighters under his command. I wonder which one of them is going to be his champion?”
All eyes, including Zayn’s, were on Byleth.
Of course, favonovel.com looked at the latter in spite of knowing who that representative was.
