Deputy Director Holden Campbell furrowed his brows slightly. “Looks like we’ve got way too many eyes set on the Ambrosia Fruit, gentlemen. It’s not going to be an easy mission to complete… And I bet it’s going to stir up a bloody maelstrom in its wake.”
Liam’s face creased in worry. “Definitely. Other forces are eyeing the fruit too, alright, and there’s reason to believe that they’ve entered Rheasia fully prepared. Relying on the Insurgent Trifecta alone isn’t going to cut it, I think.”
The rest of the higher-ups began to pile their own grievances and trepidation on to the discussion. The Ambrosia Fruit was so precious that it was considered the most treasured boon. The world had never seen anything greater, and that was said without a hint of exaggeration.
Therefore, obtaining the fruit at the cost of the efforts of everyone in the Insurgent Trifecta, especially with such stiff competition, was less than feasible.
Joe smiled slightly. “Not to worry, the groups who are in charge of securing the Ambrosia Fruit are the Insurgent Unifecta and Duofecta. We Trifecta simply assist.”
Pleasant surprise broke out amongst those around him. “Well! At least we have a better chance. After all, we’ve got the help of Unifecta and Duofecta, huh?”
“That’s the projection, yes,” Joe replied, nodding his face as a veil of somberness shadowed his smile.
Had their burden been alleviated with the help of others? Absolutely, but it also illuminated the fact that the Insurgent Trifecta was weak in comparison. They needed a crutch to hold themselves up.
The people around favonovel.com came to the same observation quickly after. Similar sentiments of hapless regret began to envelop the room.
“Looks like the organization cares a lot about the Ambrosia Fruit, anyone capable of bagging that baby will go down as a hero, I bet,” Dick said.
“You’re right on that. It only grows every 112 years, man. Miss it once, and you’ll have to wait another 112 years,” Joe added. “The next time a new fruit is borne, we’ll all be too dead to give a sh*t anymore.”
Zayn had been listening in on their conversation without speaking a word, but his silence was loud enough for Joe to notice.
“What do you say, Sergeant Larson?” favonovel.com asked with an inviting smile.
All eyes were on Zayn once more. They remembered who favonovel.com was now, the legendary superior class, fourth-tier combat prodigy whose expertise could very well turn the tide in their favor.
If they were successful in securing the fruit in the name of their beloved country, well, it would be the highest honor, would it not? The Insurgent Trifecta would benefit from it as a collective too, no doubt!
Zayn laughed in embarrassment. “I… have nothing to say! Honestly, I don’t even know anything about this ‘Ambrosia Fruit’ whatchamacallit.”
Joe shot a look at Liam. The man slapped the back of his head in realization. “Oh, sh*t! I forgot to brief Sergeant Larson on this… My bad. See, basically, the Ambrosia Fruit is…”
He went ahead and gave a surprisingly detailed primer of the fruit to Zayn, with many of its details and descriptions aligning with what Zayn was already aware of.
At the end of the impromptu lecture, Zayn’s eyes were twinkling with awe.
“A fruit this marvelous actually exists? You’re telling me… It actually enhances the essence of life?”
Joe nodded solemnly. “Damn straight. They called ‘em the Aeon Karpos, a fruit borne from the condensed materialization of the energy around us, a priceless treasure and a gift to the Earth. Even common folk with no training could reach the superior class after consuming it. Hell, it’ll even add a few decades to their lifespan too,” favonovel.com answered.
“Now that’s Ambrosia to you!”
Zayn dissembled a look of shock with the skills of an award-winning actor. It belied his extensive knowledge of the fruit and his plan to take it for himself.
The discussion went on for a while. Finally, Joe concluded with another smile, “So you don’t have to pressure yourself too much, alright?”
“The job of the Insurgent Trifecta is to assist the Insurgent Unifecta and Duofecta. The combined power of these two should be enough to accomplish our common goal.”
That was when the only one who remained silent throughout the entire discussion chimed in. “No, it won’t be easy. According to my intel, that elusive organization has set its eyes on the same fruit, and to secure it, they’ve deployed many of their superior class powerhouses,” Byleth said quietly.
“They’re in it to win it.”
It was pin drop silent. The gravity of his statement had shifted the expression on everyone’s face.
