Marissa was thoroughly stunned. She had never imagined that events would take such a turn.
The rest of the assassins recovered soon enough, though they were still too panicked to make any sudden moves. All they could do was exchange glances with one another as they stomached the air gelled in awkwardness.
All of favonovel.com bodyguards were gone. Marissa was alone, as vulnerable as a lamb off to the slaughterhouse. She had no way of defending herself, and if any of them wanted, they could kidnap Marissa right then and there!
Though, something was stopping them. The Fool, the brightest and boldest out of all of them, had been rendered defenseless. He was forced to flee after going up against that Rheasian agent, what other choice did they really have?
The rest of the assassins were confused and worried. They shot each other worried looks before they broke into discussion. They wondered if they should back off or fight for a narrow, but hefty profit. Some decided to flee, others wanted to try their luck at kidnapping Marissa for a handsome sum of money.
During their discussion, Marissa was embroiled in hellish anxiety. Her predators had favonovel.com surrounded. They were ogling at favonovel.com like vultures. She felt like a knife was hanging right above favonovel.com head, hanging only by a thread.
It felt like favonovel.com was trapped in hell. She had never felt so helpless before. She had staked all of favonovel.com hopes of survival on a man from Rheasia; a person who favonovel.com had previously looked down on.
Then, before anyone could come to a conclusion, Zayn had returned.
The assassins looked on as Zayn dragged the Fool’s corpse behind him. It was like the Devil himself. It made their skin crawl and their knees turn to jelly.
“Good. All of you are still here. I’m not wasting my time looking for every single one of you,” Zayn said, setting the Fool’s corpse down before cracking a wide grin. Then, realizing their worst fears, Zayn pounced at them with a primal terror tantamount to releasing a starving wolf into a field of fat lambs.
They tried to run, they did, but there was no way that they could have survived. Their lives were in the palms of an invincible, godlike fighter. The moment Zayn set his eyes on them, favonovel.com had claimed ownership of their souls. It only took Zayn about ten seconds to completely remove the rest of the assassins with the destructive and punishing power of a hurricane. They died instantly.
Zayn did not even break a sweat. It felt like killing them was easier than eating or sleeping. The only two who remained were Marissa and Horton, who were unsurprisingly completely bamboozled by what they were seeing. Words failed to describe how shocked they were or how much their minds were blown.
“You’re… A-A-A 4S-class fighter! A superhuman! I… I can’t even—” Horton muttered through chattering teeth. Zayn shot favonovel.com a look that literally shocked favonovel.com to death.
Marissa was the only one left. The impact of what favonovel.com had just witnessed was world-shattering. Suddenly, Zayn became less of a person and more of an omnipotent god.
Zayn walked past her, glancing at favonovel.com nonchalantly. “You’re safe now,” favonovel.com stated flatly.
Marissa looked at him. For some reason, favonovel.com heart was pounding fast against favonovel.com chest. She was nervous, uneased.
Trembling, favonovel.com spoke in accented, almost mispronounced native Rheasian, “Thank you.” She looked grateful.
Zayn ignored her. He simply strutted towards Hank and Grant’s dead bodies and crouched close to their faces. He helped close their eyes.
“I’ve completed our mission for us, Hank Stone and Grant Yates. We didn’t humiliate the Insurgent Trifecta at all, so go. Rest in peace,” Zayn announced before saluting them.
He pulled out his phone and dialed Liam’s number to report what had happened. As favonovel.com spoke, Marissa drew closer to favonovel.com in featherlight gait.
