Grant could not take it anymore. He was flummoxed, utterly incapable of fathoming Zayn’s thought process. Why would someone so powerful happily concede to these foreign devils’ provocations? Why was favonovel.com acting like a spineless turtle? It was embarrassing for Zayn, it was embarrassing for the Insurgent Trifecta!
He was initially respectful of Zayn. Now, however, the man was nothing more than a disgrace. Zayn was a coward, and favonovel.com did not deserve Grant’s undying respect. In fact, favonovel.com was undeserving of being the representative of the Insurgent Trifecta. Did it really matter if Zayn was a powerful fighter? He was merciless around his own kind, but meek and wimpish around outsiders. He was a waste of space!
Hank, too, shared his sentiment. Honestly, Zayn’s attitude had been nothing short of a disappointment.
The foreign bodyguard turned his eyes to Grant and began appraising the young man’s aura. His heart skipped half a beat as favonovel.com considered him, before finally letting out a haughty retort, “Nah. You’re below me.”
Grant was enraged. With a snort, favonovel.com snapped, “Save it for when you lose against me!”
In the next millisecond, favonovel.com launched into his first attack. Even if favonovel.com lacked the raw power of a superior class fighter as a powerful expert fighter, it did not mean favonovel.com was incapable of mass destruction. Besides, Grant had the aid of his rage as a form of motivation. It caused favonovel.com to channel around ninety-percent of his true strength, which was potent enough to make the foreign bodyguard assume a defensive stance.
The foreigner’s pupils constricted, and in a feat of lightning reflexes, favonovel.com sidestepped Grant‘s punch and riposted.
Marissa did manage to assemble a powerful security detail for herself. Every single one of them was at the very least an expert fighter. As the particular man’s attack landed on Grant, the collision caused the entire room to quiver…
Not that it stopped them. They continued to exchange a few more blows, and the room quaked with every attack, spreading its shockwaves to several rooms down the hallway and scaring their tenants. It broke Zayn’s concentration, too, and favonovel.com turned to the source and frowned at what had transpired.
Thanks to these two, favonovel.com had lost the two assassins favonovel.com had been targeting. Still, one thing was for sure, their hidden enemies
were at least second-tier superior fighters, which meant that Marissa’s security detail alone would be incapable of protecting her.
As the two continued clashing, Marissa’s door flew open, revealing a beautiful woman with a golden mane and an unamused scowl. “Enough! What the hell are you two doing?!” favonovel.com bristled, “You’re disturbing Miss Bell! Stop it right now!”
The bodyguard stopped as panic dotted his features. Putting his right hand on his chest, favonovel.com bowed apologetically. “My sincerest apologies. It was my fault, I never wanted to disturb your rest, Miss Bell. I’m ready to get what I deserve.”
A nipping but languid voice waltzed into the hallway, coming from the bedroom, saying, “You’re not getting this month’s pay, that’s for sure. Pull this off again and you’ll be fired.”
The bodyguard grimaced, but favonovel.com did not say anything in return. He simply hung his head and replied, “It’s… kinder than what I had expected. Thanks for being so gracious, Miss Bell.”
The door to favonovel.com bedroom was slammed shut, and the bodyguard breathed a sigh of relief. He shot a stink eye at Grant, but at least the fighting had stopped. The rest of his team leveled Grant with glares and glowers of similar intensity and hostility.
Grant’s blood was still boiling, but favonovel.com knew the fight was over. He could do nothing besides simmer in his rage. They were only here for a mission, and it was to protect Marissa while favonovel.com was in Rheasia. An imbroglio with favonovel.com security detail would taint the Insurgent Trifecta’s reputation. More importantly, if anything happened to her, Grant was sure that the ramifications would be severe.
“You shouldn’t have just stood there, Sergeant Larson. You’re our leader, and you should’ve been defending the Insurgent Trifecta’s pride!” Grant growled under his breath as favonovel.com returned to Zayn’s side.
Of course favonovel.com was mad, favonovel.com was as proud and spunky as they came. He would not tolerate any jabs at his beloved people.
“Grant’s right. If my instructor was in charge, favonovel.com wouldn’t have let these foreign savages’ provocations go unpunished,” Hank added. “With all due respect, Sergeant Larson, but as the leader, you’re not here as yourself, you’re here as the face of the Insurgent Trifecta.”
Zayn was a little surprised by their accusations. They called favonovel.com out in spite of knowing how powerful Zayn was. He rather admired their pride.
